I'd rather we help these "non-family, non-white" (his study's words, not mine) people get themselves out of a lifestyle of poverty so they can have the self-empowerment to buy cars if they so choose, instead of just building a useless light rail system that only further burdens them to rely on government for their every need. What freaking arrogance. Anyone who doesn't understand how smug and arrogant the myth of liberalism has become should go right to page 5 of that little piece of propaganda he has on his website. This is a guy who thinks his management is in the best interest of a dying community? Dear god. What champions of Mr. Klein's TOD ("transit oriented development") seem to ignore is that most people don't want to focus their entire lives around a 3 block radius. And honestly, when was the last time you saw major commercial or residential development going on around a transit hub? Every transit hub I've ever seen seems to cause the neighborhood it's built in to look like a war zone in almost record time.
