The day has come and gone and so has the credibility of the “#1 conservative political blog in SE Wisconsin.”

Oh really? Blogs and bloggers can be wrong, much like the Drive By Media types too many people rely upon for news. Remember Dan Rather and his "fake but accurate" documents for See BS News?

Heck, the Drive Bys are wrong so many times I've lost count. But everytime they get it wrong (which is often) they get to be Emily Litella ... "Never mind."

We can only hope the Brewers go in a different direction. I think Yost is always a couple batters late to replace a pitcher. Worse yet, no one is warming up! But, my biggest problem with him is he decides to sit three of his best players for the same game! Then they are all rested up for the next game. Kind of reminds you of Pete Rose. Doesn't it?

Yes, a post made here on good faith was proven to be wrong, some times sources are mistaken for what ever reason, but this is not something specific to blogs, it happens to news sources too. In fact, Michael Mathias has an outstanding post which includes a similar embarrassing mistake made by the same Journal Sentinel sports writer that has been our harshest critic.

Let me make this clear, we do deserve criticism, we aren't blocking critical comments, we're taking our lumps, and as always, we will strive to always do better.

Those that claim this was some sort of stunt to get hits, that's ridiculous, who in their right mind would trade their credibility for a day or two spike in traffic? I realize that most of the harshest comments we are getting come from people that have never been here before, so you don't know about the history of this blog. We have broken stories, been cited in the same paper that this story blew up in, numerous TV and radio stories have had their start here, so clearly our credibility is not something we take lightly. That being said, a mistake was made, but the writers of this blog are certainly not claiming perfection, all we can promise of that we do our honest best to be as accurate as possible.

What unsubstantiated-but-likely-to-happen story would you like to post today in hopes of claiming a "scoop"?

Gracelynn:

I DID read the whole "story". He prints something but gives himself an out with "we haven't independently confirmed this."

Fact is, his "source" is an usher at Miller Park. He has no sources. He thought he'd throw something out there, hoped it would stick, then could move onto mainstream media.

It was a made up story. Ridiculous for anyone to defend him.

All you people who are visiting badgerblogger for the first time and are slinging mud are over-emotional, ignorant sheep.

If you actually took time to look at the history of this blog and not just lap up every bumbling condemnation from Tom H(who is obviously clueless about local political blogs) you would see that it is highly visited and has a very loyal base.

I would say it is the brewerfan.net (which I'm a member of) of conservative southeastern Wisconsin blogs. That is how dedicated the guys are who run this site. They are correct more often than not and only periodically delve into sports topics.

While this doesn't seem like that big of a "scoop" to me even if it does turn out right since everyone assumes Ned will be fired soon, they actually have been correct on "scoops" that have a bigger effect on your lives (if you're from around here) than anything sports related ever will.
