They can re-impose it…but I don’t think the old “Doctrine” would have the impact that lefty bloggers want it to have. The Feds would not only have to bring back the old “Doctrine,” but would also have to tweak it with new provisions geared more towards censoring certain voices rather than creating opportunity for more voices to be heard.

I think folks should be aware that this probably won’t happen under the name “Fairness Doctrine.”

They’ll choose some other kind of name to camoflage its malevolence, like the “Democratic Speech Equity” act, or something else to make it sound wonderful.

Right now, these zealots are sounding off about the Fairness Doctrine, to essentially test the waters of public opinion regarding it. So it’s important to contact officials who spoiut out about this, everytime they do.

We also have to be wary of the Fairness Doctrine’s ugly cousin, Net Neutrality.

In the unfortunate event that our dear leaders choose to oppress the radio industry with the Fairness Doctrine or whatever name they choose to relabel it with, then we need to demand that it be equally applied to public radio, all television including public television, newspapers, magazines, movie studios, television production companies, essentially all other forms of media.
