Wisconsin has become a state of wusses!

Doyle Declares State of Emergency
As a precautionary measure, Governor Doyle has declared a State of Emergency for all 72 counties as the first major winter storm of the season hits Wisconsin.

The move calls a number of Wisconsin National Guard troops to active duty to assist authorities where needed, and also instructs all state agencies to assist in any response or recovery efforts that may be encountered.

Diamond Jim is on the job. Funny, 2 weeks ago, he was in my brothers office in Amman Jordan.
Oh, EMERGENCY is LIB-CODE for FEDERAL MONEY.

  2. Coop Says:

What, he blew through all the “stimulus” money already?

  3. gus Says:

Coop, STIMULUS MONEY is just the same as TOBACCO MONEY, TRANSPORTATION MONEY or PATIENTS COMPENSATION FUND MONEY.
Doyle is a lying decieving HACK. He is KITING CHECKS to create the false illusion (and FALSE it is) that he has a WISCONSIN CONSTITUTIONALLY REQUIRED BALANCED BUDGET.
I recongize and fully realize that NO RULE applies to a LIB…BUT…if WISCONSIN’S CONSTITUTION REQUIRES A FUNDED/or rather BALANCED FISCAL BUDGET…….why has DOYLE needed to RAID every FUND, TAX, PIGGY BANK or FEE, including new FEE’S and TAXES for his ENTIRE TERM while still being so deep in a HOLE that his BALD HEAD is invisible??????
There is a very simple answer. An answer I have tried to impart on BadgerBlogger for several years.
LIBERAL IDEAS’ are MORONIC. Liberals have no concept as to HOW, positive cash flow is achieved vis a vis government. Libs are too fu@#ing stupid to see what is right in front of their faces.
    Capitalism CREATES.
    Government SUCKS.
Libs CHOKE the CAPITALIST GOOSE because to acknowledge the REALITY would be to abandon the DISHONEST PANDERING and CLASS WARFARE that LIBS require to keep their CONSTITUENT CLASSES in LINE.

Isn’t he in Copenhagen at the “global warming” summit?

Was reading yesterday that the Iowa National Guard uses Humvees to rescue people who drive off the road and get stuck in the snow (snowfall totals there are expected to be the largest for a single December storm since 1940…). Committing “eco-crimes” to save people whose lives are endangered by nature…I love it.

  5. Chris from Racine Says:

    And I don’t have a bit of snow…some emergency!!

  6. Patrick Dorwin Says:

@Chris, looking at the temps, I think it was colder at your house when we were there this summer

  7. steveegg Says:

For once the lake saved you, Chris. Had 3 inches in far-northwest Oak Creek before the rain hit about 1 am. Second round of snow started about 7:30.

  8. Glenn D. Frankovis Says:

Just finished clearing my driveway and THANK GOD I broke down this year and bought a snowblower. Even though I only had about 4 inches on my driveway and about 10 feet – slight exaggeration :) – that the plow left at the entrance to my driveway, this is a very heavy wet snow. There will be heart attacks from this snowfall so be very careful when clearing your walks/driveways.

I just drove home from Houghton, MI. Took me just over 7 hours. Saw dozens of vehicles spun out into the ditches. Funny that most of them were pick ups and SUV’s.

Driving along the Lake Superior shoreline north of Baraga was scary. Snow blowing so hard you couldn’t see the hood of your car and spray from waves icing up everything.

    Time for a drink.

  11. PCD Says:

    TerryN,

The reason you see so many 4wds in the ditch is because the idiots that own them think they can’t get stuck, so they go beyond the limits of traction and common sense.

  12. corbin Says:

maybe Doyle’s new taxpayer paid for hip is aching in this cold..

  13. MjM Says:

so they go beyond the limits of traction and common sense.

4WD – Helps you go. Does not help you stop.

Was out at 5:30am this morn. Took me 2 hours to clear drive. 8-10″ of lovely 30lbs-per-SqFt winter. And of course, the County Plow Poke comes along just as I’m about done and pushes a 3′ tall wall of slush balls at the end of my drive, burying the mailbox I had just cleared. Not to mention the ton+1/2 of shoulder gravel/dirt the bozo scraped and left on my drive. My snow-blower was shooting out brownish plumes like a St. Helen’s eruption.

    Furlough disguised as snow day?

  15. HeatherRadish Says:

Do they get paid for snow days?

Here’s a bit about the IA and WI National Guards called in to help with the storm, how and what they do. I don’t think the IA Guard mobilization was political or over-reaching, though–it’s bad out there.

I’ve personally seen this shit in the past with military contractors. These stats don’t take into account contractors or sub-contractors. I’ve had to work with Bechtel and the military directly.. you talk about a raping of the taxpayers.. jesus f’ing christ. And this doesn’t include social services.

For feds, more get 6-figure salaries

    By Dennis Cauchon, USA TODAY
The number of federal workers earning six-figure salaries has exploded during the recession,
    according to a USA

  17. corbin Says:

Oh, and the guys with their boots on the ground are having their families get food stamps, while the contractor companies are getting billions for pumping out paperwork.

I would like to put my foot on the neck of a liberal and kick the shit out of a neocon.

  18. corbin Says:

Regarding Doyle.. saw a great license plate the other day.. took me a couple of minutes to figure it out:

    ” 4 QD Oil “
