Today I went to the Cheddarsphere Christmas party, I knew it would be an awesome time, and it was. There was a huge turnout with some of the most awesome people you could meet.

But, I have a special thank you to those of you brought small lap blankets, gloves, hats & scarves for me to hand out to our elderly and disabled clients at work.

I have to make a special thank you to Wendy, wife of blogger Owen from Boots & Sabers. It was Wendy that thought of the idea of collecting blankets at this party in the first place (not to mention the box she sent me last year), then she and Owen along with B&S reader Joe B, who calls himself “a Texan who believes that no one should be cold” donated a huge box. When I got home and opened it, I was shocked at how many blankets, hats & gloves were packed in there… You guys are friggen awesome! I promise to make sure that everything you sent me will be used to make someone warm and happy.

Thank you! You made my night, and gave gifts that will keep on giving!

UPDATE: I have a somewhat accurate total of yesterdays haul, 37 blankets, 49 pairs of gloves, 8 hats and 2 scarves.

I told my boss about this and she agrees that you guys are great! You will even get a mention in our company news letter.

Check out the New Mexico version of a ‘Tea Party’ that happened on Saturday:

I wonder how long it will be ’til The One finds a need to “deal with this issue;” I wonder if he’ll spend six months considering what to do like he did for Gen. McCrystal?

This is so touching and wonderful – thanks for sharing, Patrick! This is the kind of thing that liberals and those who think we need a socialist agenda just seem to be utterly incapable of understanding…that THIS is just what good people do.

The so-called “War on Poverty” started in 1964. the gov’t has had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to “the poor” and they keep wanting/stealing more. They just can’t comprehend the fact that all good Americans need is a clarion call for help and we’ll come through.
