Alderman Mike McGee has finally responded to the Spivak & Bice story on the two girls that went to the Millions More event in Washington DC. During this trip, the girls had to watch raciest videos and were attacked by the Alderman personally because he believed them to be lesbians. Here is McGee’s one paragraph response, as they add, "And wouldn’t his dad be proud?"
"You both are punks and don’t have a life," the alderman said in a brief, vitriolic e-mail sent us late Tuesday morning – a mere four days after we first tried to get hold of him.
Here’s the rest of the text of McGee’s one-paragraph message:
"Get the truth first before you spin the continuous web of lies that you weave about Black leadership. Remember Jesus was a Black Man, do the research. If you would like some resources feel free to contact me and you can do a thorough search as you did for your untrue article. In the Black community you all are getting a ‘good’ reputation for being blatant liars."

McGee is an idiot, and tremendously homophobic, I can’t wait until the Milwaukee NAACP report on this comes out…maybe then his constiutents will have enough sense to boot him out of office

McGee is going to just skate away from this trouble without a worry about his constitutents or local law. The Party always protects its own!

“McGee is going to just skate away from this trouble without a worry about his constitutents or local law. The Party always protects its own!”
You can’t possibly believe that either party has any interest in having McGee represent their interests…Dems wont want him because he alienates a sizeable part of their support base, Republicans won’t want him because it will take the stereotype of the fanatical right wing to new heights…not to mention that he hasn’t done anything useful for the city that deserves supporting anyway. I agree that McGee has gotten away with more then most other polticians would be able to but in my opinion this has to do with the voter turnout and voter interest in his district then the support of any party. Any minority candidate with at least a little name recognition would be able to take McGee’s seat in a second.

Who gave this guy internet access?

McGee (and his father for that matter) have never been held responsible for anything they have said or done in the past, and their past if full of thing that would have destroyed most other politicians, and anyone else in the public eye.
The hateful things they have done over the past few decades would never be tolerated by someone on the right, can you imagine what would have happened if it was David Clarke that has made repeated homophobic attacks on people and brags about how he should have punched a State Senator.
They are thugs and the Milwaukee media is afraid to hold them accountable.
As for the idea that he could lose his seat to any one that is not even more over the top than McGee is doubtful in my mind. A large percentage of his constituents accept and support his actions, and I find that scarry.

I dont think its that his consitituents accept his actions, I think it is that they just dont care, they have other things to worry about…look at McGee’s district – (http://www.city.milwaukee.gov/display/router.asp?docid=1762)
Then look at the map of homicides for the year
(http://www.jsonline.com/multimedia/graphic.asp?graphic=http://graphics.jsonline.com/graphics/news/img/aug05/HOMI22G1.gif)
They’re expected to care about who called who what?
I bet they are more concerned with avoiding being shot at.
I say I think that a minority canidate could unseat McGee because I truly believe that the only asset he has in his district is his race. As the map shows us, he clearly isnt reducing crime or the poverty in his area and it appears that the majority of McGee’s time is spent thinking of ways to make an a*s of himself. A candidate that can identify racially and even marginally socially with this district has a chance because McGee has little to no message and little to no progress made in his district and eventually the voters are going to demand some. My faith in people says that eventually someone will say enough is enough.

Veronica, I totally agree. These girls are teenagers who seem to be close friends. Is that an indicator of homosexual behavior?

Only the people in his district can vote him out, but do they have the courage to do it? Anyone that runs against him puts themselves in line for one hell of a fight.
