Eugene, Eugene, Eugene… Protecting the ballot box from fraud is in no way restricting anyone’s right to vote. I think you know that, but it doesn’t fit your agenda, so you will never admit it. Any American Citizen can vote, all they have to do is prove that they are who they say they are, what is so horrible about that? I have a feeling that if you went to your polling place and found that your name was already checked off as voting, you would be angry, especially if the opposition party had a track record of stealing votes this way.

Remember, there are many things that you can not do without some form of identification, like check out a library book in Milwaukee, buy cold medicine, cash a check or even access any federal, state or local social services for the poor and disadvantaged.

Every single Photo ID bill has a provision to give for free, a photo ID for those that can not afford the few dollars to buy their own. if you were honest in your outrage of people being “forced” to show an identification card to vote, you would cheer the legislation that provides everyone with a form of identification, so all of these disadvantaged people would be able to take advantage of the wide range of social services that they can not get without the identification.

Raising Kane: The assault on voting rights begins

If you’re one of those people confused why there’s so much resistance from blacks and other minorities to all these voting rights restrictions proposed by the Republican party including the photo Id requirement being pushed in Wisconsin, just consider history.

This isn’t the first time unpopular American citizens have been the target of new restrictive laws. And, yes, I am saying the photo ID bill to be considered in Wisconsin is specifically aimed at blacks and Latinos.

It not about race Mr. Kane, it is about protecting one of our fundamental rights as an American Citizen.

We should remember that it is Governor Doyle that signed the law requiring a photo ID to get cold medicine. With that in mind, I guess both Doyle and Kane are more worried about protecting their votes than protecting the health and well being of blacks and Latinos.

I think that Eugene will be out slashing van tires in a couple of weeks.
