The County Board is working to select a County Board Chairman, will they return Lee Holloway, who has physically attacked two board members in the past? I sure hope not, but it would be interesting to be the “fly on the wall” watching all of the back room discussions.
New supervisors may tip election for chair
Update: 37 ballots, still no winner
Brian Fraley has been following the votes. Right now it seems to have stabilized with Holloway 8, Broderick 5, Schmitt 5, Present 1. One person has not cast any votes, only voted Present, and that is new member Theo Lipscomb, the man that, until I broke the ice, no one outside of the district knew was running. Until the last few days before the election, the local media totally ignored the write-in race that brought this newcomer to the County Board.
So head over to Daily Takes to follow the action, that’s where I will be.
Update 2: Wish I was there to see this.
40th Ballot
Same results. Holloway 8, Broderick 5, Schmitt 5, Present 1.
Rice moved to suspend the rules to have a second place run off between Broderick and Schmitt, with the winner being the sole opponent against Holloway. The rules were suspended, and Rice’s proposal passed. So we now have a runoff to see who goes up against Holloway.
Schmitt 6, Broderick 6, Present 7. Wow.

And Holloway should join him as soon as possible.

What a pathetic excuse for County Supervisors…they can’t even pick a Chairman and/or decide the Holloway is NOT the one to be chairman.
Simply disgusting.

So Holloway wins again. How did that happen? Did he threaten to kick their butts if they didn’t elect him? Or in the end, did the race card trump all other concerns?
