Operation Impact, the privately funded crime fighting program started by Alderman Bob Donovan. Part of the strategy includes having police officers that volunteer to “take ownership” of their beat patrol area. These officers work closely with the residents, businesses, church groups and other services like the District Attorneys, Community Prosecution Unit to regain control of crime riddled neighborhoods. Operation Impact is also providing surveillance cameras and improving lighting in problem areas.
As I said, this is a privately funded operation, and BadgerBlogger is happy to support this effort by posting the announcement of the Operation Impact Golf Outing.
