Classy Ed Garvey was ahead of the curve, but now other liberals, in these two cases, women, are attacking Sarah Palin and her son Trig.

She should not be on the stage at all, but certainly not winking, parading around with her Down syndrome child and sporting a smile bordering on a derisive laugh as she pulled out the “white flag” nonsense.
– Ed Garvey (Moonbat – Wi.)

And notice how they try to dehumanize him by calling Trig Palin “IT”…

“One other note…the image of dragging that handicapped infant around and having IT on stage has caused consternation in some quarters as to how tasteful this is.”
– Barbara Walters on The View

Also…

“The image of dragging that handicapped baby around, having it up on stage…that has caused consternation in some crowds…”
– Liz Trotta on FOX News

Notice how similar the statements are, wonder whose talking points they are reading?

You are really starting to reach for your own negative talking points.

There is no big Democrat conspiracy with emailed talking points to make fun of Palin and her actions related to her son. To take a few rude comments and suspect a conspiracy is your own brain at work and nothing else.

  2. HeatherRadish Says:

I miss the days when the activists were lecturing us on the evils of “able-ist attitudes” instead characterizing a five-month-old baby as a subhman prop.

(“Handicapped infant”? Do five-month-old babies with 46 chromosomes spend a lot of time running around talking? And people with Down Syndrome run the IQ range from “moderate retardation” to “smarter than moonbats” but they won’t be able to measure Trig for awhile…)

  3. Dan Says:

These comments are terrible. I expect better of Barbara Walters. Now Trig is not even a person in her eyes? Despiciable.
Dragging that baby around? Somehow, I think was not being dragged. It shows that a certain element on the left are about as cruel as cruel can be. Mind you, not all and probably the majority of the left don’t think that way,but certain members of the left who hate Palin do think like that.

  4. Don Says:

It goes to show that those that are not conservative and have nothing else to criticize Palin and her party about are running scared.

If it has come down to dragging family into the mix and who had no choice but to be put into the spotlight, this country is doomed. The left obviously cannot bring families together. Maybe this is why with such liberal programs society has become family less. Supporting single parent households, high divorce rates, welfare, and poor sex education.

It’s obvious those that made those statements are jealous of what Palin has and can do. This is not the 50′s where mothers were encouraged to stay home and take care of the family. Nowadays both parents have to work to make enough money to live a half way decent life.

  5. Ceecee Says:

These people really are disgusting. If the baby wasn’t handicapped it would be perfectly tasteful to have him on stage. It wouldn’t be an issue. I haven’t heard of anyone being offended about a baby on stage before this, so it must be because the baby is handicapped that his presence causes “consternation.”
What a bunch nazi hate mongers they are to raise such a non-issue about a handicapped child. Somebody should tell these hate mongering creeps that they would be very comfortable in Nazi Germany. Hitler had all the handicapped children killed in Nazi Germany, so there were none of them to parade on stage. Is that what these jerks would prefer? Maybe they were born in the wrong decade and in the wrong country. They should have lived in 1930′s and 40′s Germany.

  7. Dave B Says:

I guess they think that Trig would be better off in a Government sponsored program to deal with his “affliction” instead of being part of a family that does things together.

  8. Mr. Pelican Pants Says:

As someone who has a younger brother with Downs’ Syndrome, I have come to the conclusion that liberal Democrats are pure evil.

A message to Ed Garvey and those like him: if we ever cross paths, more than likely, I will end up going to jail, and you will end up going to the hospital.

  9. Christina Says:

peaceisactive, have you never heard of the Conspiracy of a Common Agenda? It’s how kids end up shoving everything under the bed when they’re told to clean their rooms, and how men do a lousy job with the housework so they’re not asked to do it again. It’s not some big huge meeting in which they plot and plan. It’s how people with a common goal will very often come up with precisely the same way to achieve it.

In this case, it’s to dehumanize a baby who had Down syndrome.

They’re showing up, one and all, how hateful they are, and how the talk of “tolerance” and “inclusion” is a crock when it comes down to tolerating or including a baby that makes them uncomforatable.

  10. peaceisactive.com Says:

Taking a few rude comments and applying your disgust to all liberals is beyond reasonable thought.

“Taking a few rude comments and applying your disgust to all liberals is beyond reasonable thought.”

Now you know how anyone that isn’t sufficiently liberals feels. If I had a nickel for everytime conservatives were called all racist, I wouldn’t have to work again.

And don’t bother writing back saying that you’ve never done that because you have, we all know it, and we all know that you’d never admit it anyway.

  13. Patrick Dorwin Says:

The fact is Dave B, many of them don’t think he should even “be” at all… And those that are accidentally born should be quietly institutionalized and never mentioned again.

As someone that works with people with Downs and many other disabilities, comments like these really trip my trigger. I know these wonderful people to be fun, loving PEOPLE, not something to be hidden.

Mr. Pelican Pants, I’ll hold him first, then you hold him for me!

Actuallyu, peacewhatever, you are beyond reasonable thought.
Why don’t you get a few balls and condem what they said? Problem is,you didn’t, so I have to conclude that you agree with what these two despicable human(?) beings said.

  17. milwhowie Says:

Dan, try WORDPERFECT or something that spells somewhat correctly. You seem confused. If Mac, try the spelling button before sending. I wish you well with whatever you’re trying to say. You will hopefully improve when you get into the 5th grade.

  18. Roland Melnick Says:

Either Barbara watches Fox News and liked Liz’s use of “consternation;”
    or
Liz watches The View and liked Barbara’s use of “consternation.”

A punishable offense in either circle.

  19. Sole Says:

The libs would have nasty things to say regardless. If Palin left Trig at home, they would be saying she’s embarrassed, and trying to hide him. There is no winning with these peple.

  20. Mr. Pelican Pants Says:

The irony is that kids and adults with Downs’ are the most loving, compassionate, affectionate, and caring people you’d ever have the pleasure of meeting.

Because of their “disability”, they are free from the usual emotions that us “normal” people exhibit every day: hate, jealousy, envy, greed, deciet, and bitterness. They simply do not know what or have any use for those emotions.

Liberals could learn a thing or two from people with Downs’ Syndrome.

  21. Dan Says:

hey milwhowie, thanks for the tip you moron. Maybe if you had enough brain cells left in your head you actually could come up with a nice logical arguement. But of course not, you just shower us with your brillance. Idiot.

  22. DMZ Says:

An odd thing regarding Ed Garvey’s negative comment is that he is also the father of a daughter with downs syndrome. From what I know, he and his family have provided a dedicated and loving home for their child through the years. (I believe she is a young adult now living in a group home.) I would suspect that after all those years, they’ve met many other families with similar situations and many different ways to rear a child with such a condition.

Not sure why he would add that comment about Gov. Palin having Trig with her on the campaign. Given his outspoken and left-wing politics, you would think he’d have plenty of other issues to conflict with Palin over. It’s easy to understand that parents with a downs syndrome child might have very different ways of dealing with their child. To condemn one manner vs. another seems just mean and, um, impolitic.

    @Jaeson
Saw your YouTube. Not the same thing. Not even close. My amusement comes from the two tough guys, who from the safety (and limitless distance) of the Internet, think it somehow brave to threaten a 70+ year old man. Especially funny is the one who calls himself Mr. Pelican Pants. Does he wear Spongebob underwear? And the other, whom I’ve met, couldn’t punch his way out of a wet paper bag and bravely tells another to hold the person so he can hit him.

    Oooh, tough guys.

  24. Mr. Pelican Pants Says:

    Tim -

Wow. You really zinged me there. How ever will I recover from such a clever, yet biting, retort. Who writes your material…Steinfeld?

You don’t have to be crazy to wear Pelican Pants…but it helps.

    Wise up, buttercup.

  25. Ceecee Says:

I don’t think the problem is liberals or conservatives. I think that the problem is caused by hate mongers. As someone who has Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (AHDHD), I can tell you there are hate mongers on the right and the left.

Some people just don’t like anyone who is different. They see anyone who is different as a monster. But their attitude quickly makes them become the monsters themselves.

  26. Ceecee Says:

So peaceisactive.com, I can’t speak for the others, but I for one am not blaming the liberals. I used to be a liberal. Now I consider myself mixed. That is to say that I agree with the conservatives on some issues and I agree with the liberals on other issues. But I am not saying that I blame all the liberals for the rude comments of a few.

I do think those rude comments come from a hate mongering spirit, regardless of whether the person making the comment is a liberal or a conservative.

Tough guy? Hmph…I read that and thought it was a warning that Mr. Pants is a chronic drunk driver who is likely to hit you if your cars cross paths…sending you to the hospital while he gets a DUI and some jail time. Tim just assumed PP was threatening violence, which says more about him, than about Mr. Pants.
