RUSSERT: Many people who’ve been criticizing you have said: Senator, if you would just do one thing and that is sign Form 180, which would allow historians and journalists complete access to all your military records. Thus far, you have gotten the records, released them through your campaign. They say you should not be the filter. Sign Form 180 and let the historians…

SEN. KERRY: I’d be happy to put the records out. We put all the records out that I had been sent by the military. Then at the last moment, they sent some more stuff, which had some things that weren’t even relevant to the record. So when we get-I’m going to sit down with them and make sure that they are clear and I am clear as to what is in the record and what isn’t in the record and we’ll put it out. I have no problem with that.

MR. RUSSERT: Would you sign Form 180?

SEN. KERRY: But everything, Tim…

MR. RUSSERT: Would you sign Form 180?

SEN. KERRY: Yes, I will. But everything that we put in it, Tim-everything we put in-I mean, everything that was out was a full documentation of all of the medical records, all of the fitness reports. And I’d call on those who have challenged me, let’s see their records. I want to see the records of each of those people who have put up a challenge, because some of them have some serious questions in them, and it hasn’t been appropriate…

MR. RUSSERT: So they should sign Form 180s for themselves as well?

SEN. KERRY: You bet.

An interesting idea, I would like to see something like this here in Milwaukee, with all of the problems we have been having with dealing with the sexual predators that these fool judges are trying to release into out neighborhoods, it would be nice to know that they are being watched closely.

Sun Herald - Punta Gorda Police Department starts ‘adopt-an-offender’ program
Tuesday afternoon was the first of many visits of Master Police Officer Jeff Woodard to his 42-year-old “adoptee.”

Woodard is one of five police volunteers to “adopt” a registered sexual offender in the Punta Gorda Police Department’s new sexual offender and predator monitoring program

The PGPD officially launched the program, jokingly dubbed “adopt-an-offender” by officers, Tuesday morning with two officers meeting with their assigned offenders.

I just seen this story in the local FOX affiliate and it looks to have promise, although keeping them locked up is a much better idea.

Bud Selig has proposed strong penalties for steroid use. Three strikes and you’re out.

First time offenders: 50 game suspension
Second time offenders: 100 game suspension
Third time offenders: Lifetime ban

Even Space.com has a review of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. I can’t wait to see it, I think I’m going to see it tomorrow. I am a long time Doug Adams fan, I have read all 5 books of the “trilogy” (more than once) and have heard the audio books and I have the entire BBC radio show on CD’s and some old record albums of the Guide too…Okay, I’m not a fan, I’m addicted.

Time to grab my towel, slip a babel fish in my ear and throw my self at the ground and miss so I can fly over to Milliways!

A Georgia bride-to-be who vanished just days before her wedding turned up in New Mexico and fabricated a tale of abduction before admitting Saturday that she got cold feet and “needed some time alone,” police said.

Jennifer Wilbanks, 32, was in police custody more than 1,420 miles from her home on what was supposed to be her wedding day Saturday.

“It turns out that Miss Wilbanks basically felt the pressure of this large wedding and could not handle it,” said Randy Belcher, the police chief in Duluth, Ga., the Atlanta suburb where Wilbanks lives with her fiance. He said there would be no criminal charges.

Wilbanks had called her fiance, John Mason, from a pay phone late Friday and told him that she had been kidnapped three days earlier while jogging, authorities said. Her family rejoiced that she was safe, telling reporters that the media coverage apparently got to the kidnappers.

But Wilbanks, who is a nurse, soon recanted, according to police.

Just heard on the news that Lindy England will plead guilty to avoid the trial that was to have started next week. She faces up to 11 years in prison for her part in the Abu Ghrab fiasco. Lindy was the “leash girl” and I believe her actions probably cost American lives…I hope she does the max.

Attended today’s annual JRN meeting at Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee. Fairly short meeting, questions from floor. My question:
“Why do you allow Charlie Sykes and Jeff Wagner to continually bash the Journal Sentinel over WTMJ? Don’t you think this is damaging the newspaper? Also, why doesn’t WTMJ embrace a policy of fairness and equal time?”

The Smoking Gun has discovered that American Idol “Rocker” Bo Bice has had run-ins with the law for marijuana and cocaine possession. This has not been a good week for American Idol.

Question: When do you release something that reflects badly on you; a time when it will make the least impact in the news media?

Answer: Friday, late afternoon or early evening hours are best.

The reason they release things that reflect in a negative light on Friday night is because it is too late for the main news cycle on Friday and the news casts and papers are viewed less on the weekend. Also, by the time people start to take notice on Monday, the response is “that’s old news”.

Why do I bring this up tonight?

I bring this up now because tonight, Friday night at about 5 p.m. Governor Jim Doyle vetoed the hugely popular Photo ID requirement for voting bill again. The bill passed 21-12 in the Senate and 64-33 in the Assembly, one vote short of a potential veto over ride.

Recent polls show that Wisconsin citizens support this bill in the 80% to 90% range, but Doyle seems to know he can’t win without a little vote fraud. Even a little fraud may not be enough to save Doyle’s job, Scott Walker has a poll that shows Doyle’s job approval rating is 41% and only 35% of voters think that Jim Doyle deserves to be re-elected.

Please don’t overlook this!

The photo ID bill is getting the publicity, but Doyle also vetoed a bill to expand a state program that pays for poor Milwaukee students to attend private schools. The bill would have allowed 1,500 more students in Milwaukee to enroll in the school voucher program, another program hugely popular, especially in the inner-city of Milwaukee. It is the Democrats and their owners in WEAC that are preventing poor, primarily black inner-city children from attending schools that their parents believe will better teach their kids and give them the same chances that the rich Liberals give their own kids. Again, Doyle vetoed this on a Friday night, so no one will notice…

Perhaps if the Journal Sentinel would report fairly, they wouldn’t have problems with their advertisers suing them because of their inflated circulation claims. Clean up your act and you will sell more papers.

It is the media decides what is news and what is not news by choosing what to report, and most importantly what they choose NOT to report… Also, where they choose to report it.

The Waukesha Freeman has used a Freedom of Information Act request to get al of the emails from the time around the April 5 election. This is the vote that had school board members involved with a smear campaign against the opposition, sending out court records of family members and tax documents of the leaders of the efforts against them. This was at the time pinned on one man, Roger Danielson, but as the new Freeman article shows, they all knew about this and you can read the contempt they show towards their constituents. They also go on to discuss how they were planning to use the Attorney General, Governor and state School Superintendent to intimidate the opposition and say they will bypass district attorney Bucher because “he will not support us. This is devastating information, you really need to read this article of you live in Waukesha, and make sure you read all of the quotes along the right side of the article.

“It is my opinion that we need to stay above the fray … as this small group of mean-spirited, emotional and pathetic folks have little traction at this time.”

-Superintendent David Schmidt, referring to the Waukesha Taxpayers League.

Who is really the ” small group of mean-spirited, emotional and pathetic folks” Mr. Schmidt? And don’t forget, this group with little traction defeated “your” referendum by a 67% majority.

A thorough e-mail trail reveals the Waukesha School District’s strategy concerning a $6.5 million referendum question rejected by voters April 5.

About 300 pages of e-mails sent in the days shortly before and shortly after the April 5 vote, recovered by The Freeman through a Freedom of Information Act request, show the district wanted clear and concise responses to any action made by the Waukesha Taxpayers League.

Petty remarks about the Waukesha Taxpayers League made by school board members and Superintendent David Schmidt are scattered throughout the e-mails.

News Talk 1130 WISN: Green files for divorce after arrest
Green Bay Packer running back Ahman Green filed for divorce Thursday, only days after being arrested after a disturbance at his home. Attorney Bruce Peckerman, who represented Green in a previous divorce, confirms to News/Talk 1130 WISN that the filing had been made in Brown County Circuit Court. Green filed for divorce from his wife, Heather.

Ahman has a website and has made a statement.

A military jury sentenced a soldier to death Thursday for a grenade and rifle attack on his own comrades during the opening days of the Iraq invasion, a barrage that killed two officers and that prosecutors said was driven by religious extremism.

Sgt. Hasan Akbar, who gave a brief, barely audible apology hours earlier, stood at attention between his lawyers as the verdict was delivered. He showed no emotion.

UW Oshkosh shows it’s diversity by hosting a “drag show” that many believe to have been WAY over the line. Charlie has an email and several links from a photographer for the school newspaper, he thinks this stuff was inappropriate, saying he couldn’t print most of his pictures, they belonged in an adult magazine. This is what your state university system is doing Wisconsin.
