Why do they allow stupid people to drive?

Monday, July 31st, 2006

I had some moron hit my truck tonight in a parking lot, she did no damage to my truck, but she drug the whole side of her car against the corner of my back bumper. She has a deep scrape from the front wheel well to the back bumper of her car and she caved in both doors…

Wouldn’t you think that if you hit another vehicle, you would stop? Not this moron, she kept right on going until she got into the parking place at a really stupid angle, then she goes in and has “the owner of a Chevy truck” paged… At least she did the right thing there.

Like I said, no damage to my truck, but it’s still not the way I wanted to finish this long hot day.

With temps pushing 100°, the word of the day is: Water

Monday, July 31st, 2006

It’s going to be even hotter than it has been in the Badger State. Please take precautions, drink a LOT of water or Gatoraid (sp?) type drinks, stay out of the sun and check on your older relatives and friends. Many older people can not take the heat, many medications also effect the bodies ability to regulate the heat too, so make sure they are able to stay cool and hydrated!

The Red Cross has a page on dealing with the heat.

Mark Green on-line ad

Monday, July 31st, 2006

Mark Green is beginning his ad campaign by running this on-line ad. It starts out a bit hokey, but it’s actually pretty good.

For something like this to get out to the masses, it really needs to be on TV, us political junkies will see it here, but it’s the people that aren’t paying attention that need to learn about who Mark Green is.

WISCONSIN GOVERNOR JIM DOYLE - ERROR AND IMPROPRIETY

The Doyle flacks just can not tell the truth

Sunday, July 30th, 2006

The Doyle front group The Greater Wisconsin Committee is putting out another ad that is strewn with demonstrable lies, this time about prescription drugs.

We see again just how desperate the Doyle campaign really is, they refuse to run on their own accomplishments, they just put out one lie filled ad after another.

It must really suck to work for Jim Doyle these days, you can’t even be honest.

JS Online: PoliticsWatch: Text of new anti-Green TV ad
In the beat-them-to-the-punch world of modern politics, it’s rare for one side to gets its information refuting a TV ad out before the first side gets its information supporting the ad out.

That’s what happened with the new ad from the Greater Wisconsin Committee, which rips Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Green on the prescription drug issue. Here is the text and information, on the ad issued late Thursday by the GWC.

And here is the Green response (or would it be presponse?), issued earlier Thursday.

Batten Down The Hatches!

Wow, there is a pretty nasty storm tearing across Wisconsin right now. Lots of rain and strong winds here on Milwaukee’s North West side… This may stop me from my favorite “day off” excursion for breakfast

Elected officials refusing to use email

Sunday, July 30th, 2006

The paper has an interesting story of how New Berlin Ald. Paul Gallagher now refuses to use email to keep in touch with his constituents…

BUT

Readers of BadgerBlogger.com knew of this story on July 24 (More fallout from New Berlin), and it stems from the original July 22nd posting made here (Matt Thomas, you muckraker you!). All of this because one community leader believes in lower taxes.

JS Online:Taking it offline: Some elected officials are finding e-mail too risky
New Berlin Ald. Paul Gallagher is going to govern like it’s 1989.

In the age when constituents can send e-mail from their cell phones and BlackBerrys, Gallagher has sworn off electronic communications, saying that he won’t allow his words to become fodder for his political enemies.

He’s among elected officials who are shunning e-mail as a means of communicating with constituents because of open records rules and political ramifications of having their private words disseminated to the public.

“I’m not going to put something in an e-mail that can be forwarded on and used in a negative political way,” said Gallagher, who has in the past found himself in the middle of testy e-mail arguments. “The best way to avoid that is to avoid e-mail altogether.”

The papers account of this story places blame on School Board member, Matt Thomas:

Gallagher decided to swear off e-mail after a rapid exchange among himself, Chiovatero, New Berlin School Board member Matt Thomas and Jim Gatzke, a former New Berlin mayor.

Gallagher, Gatzke and Chiovatero’s responses to Thomas’ questions were forwarded to reporters and radio talk show hosts, leading the New Berlin elected officials to become frustrated enough to swear off the whole process.

“It’s unfortunate that they have effectively shut down the progress of government. It’s kind of sad,” Chiovatero said. “I’m frustrated about the fact that . . . Matt Thomas has effectively tried to shut down the progress of government by making people afraid to use e-mails.”

But, the information I have shows it was not Thomas, but former mayor Jim Gatzke that brought a Journal Sentinel reporter into the mix by including the reporter in his criticizing tirade against the New Berlin School Board and Thomas personally. Gatzke’s arguments on taxes and school spending came from a very liberal point of view, and it was this message, that included the reporter, that Matt Thomas then forwarded to Mark Belling. Because Jim Gatzke is a fill in host for Bellings radio show, Thomas thought that Belling should see the sort of person filling in for him, someone with a completely opposite view on the issues than Belling himself.

I find it disturbing when a public official curtails his contact with the public, the fact that an email from an elected official is a public document, should not mean it is to be avoided, it is clear that Ald. Paul Gallagher doesn’t want the people he represents to be able to have this convenient form of contact with him… What is he afraid of?

It was nice of the Snail Media to finally catch up though…

Ya want anchovies on that elastic loaf?

Saturday, July 29th, 2006

Irans Islamofascist nutlog Ahmadinejad has ordered that pizzas now be called “elastic loaves.” Actually, he isn’t limiting it to pizzas, he has banned the use of “foreign words”.

The Milwaukee District Attorneys Office is DISGRACEFUL

Friday, July 28th, 2006

Just disgraceful! E. Michael McCann(t)’s office is terrified if the McJackson’s. What would it take for him (or anyone else in his office) to have the balls to hold a McGee accountable? How many more decades do we have to look forward to this District Attorneys office appeasing and supporting criminals?

JS Online: DayWatch
For the second time in four days, the Milwaukee County district attorney’s office announced this afternoon that Milwaukee Ald. Mike McGee will not face criminal prosecution over his actions during a series of restraining-order hearings concerning his former mistress.

A four-page letter from Assistant District Attorney Thomas Potter says the “inherent vagueness” of McGee’s denial that he ever had a “romantic” relationship with Kimley Rucker, with whom he later admitted an affair, and the denial that he ever personally had a Yahoo.com e-mail account, which he later said he and members of his organization used, precluded charging McGee with perjury for either denial.

Letter from District Attorneys Office

I am just disgusted with this D.A.’s office, the entire office! And even though the head apologist for Milwaukee’s political corruption, E. Michael McCann(t) is leaving office (FINALLY), his hand picked man, John Chisholm, is going to stroll into the seat, but I’ll be damned if a McCann flunky will get my vote! The only two other people running are a defense attorney Lew Wasserman and a civil rights attorney Larraine McNamara-McGraw, and as far as I am concerned right now, either of these two would be more deserving of my vote, at least with these two, you would expect them to favor the criminal!

Before you Chisholm people resend the emails telling me how tough John Chisholm is…STUFF IT! I have heard it and don’t believe that anyone in this District Attorneys Office is in the least bit competent!

If it wasn’t for Steve Biskupic, no one in this community would ever be held accountable for crimes they commit, but it is a shame that we have to rely on the Federal Prosecutor to clear up the D.A.’s screw ups as well as going after all of the public corruption cases that this District Attorney has overlooked for more than three decades!

UW-Instructor Barrett called rabid by Dane County judge

Friday, July 28th, 2006

Wow, when a Dane County Judge calls you rabid, you must be really screwy!

Controversial UW-Madison Instructor Kevin Barrett has attempted to have a Lithuanian immigrant deported from her Madison home.

But federal officials told 27 News Jekaterina Bittar, 45, resides here legally.

And a Dane County judge has labeled Barrett’s repeated, unsubstantiated accusations of theft against Bittar as “rabid.”

We also find this tidbit in this story.

Barrett’s contract to teach at UW-Madison qualifies him to live at his present residence in University housing.

So this barking moonbat Barrett is living in taxpayer subsidized housing… Aren’t you proud to be paying the rent for this clown?

Are you holding your breath?

Friday, July 28th, 2006

Today is the day we are supposed to learn if E. Michael McCann(t) has any courage left in him at all, as the charging decision for the clear perjury he committed in court a few months ago.

When you own wife contradicts your testimony, you must be tellin’ some whoppers!

Al-Zawahri Calls for Holy War on Israel

Thursday, July 27th, 2006

Has anyone called Kevin Barrett for a comment? I’ll bet he will say the guy on the tape is Donald Rumsfeld in drag…

BREITBART.COM: Al-Zawahri Calls for Holy War on Israel
Al-Qaida’s No. 2 leader issued a worldwide call Thursday for Muslims to rise up in a holy war against Israel and join the fighting in Lebanon and Gaza until Islam reigns from “Spain to Iraq.”

In the message broadcast by Al-Jazeera television, Ayman al-Zawahri, second in command to Osama bin Laden, said that al-Qaida now views “all the world as a battlefield open in front of us.”

The Egyptian-born physician said that the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah and Palestinian militants would not be ended with “cease- fires or agreements.”

“It is a jihad (holy war) for the sake of God and will last until (our) religion prevails … from Spain to Iraq,” al-Zawahri said. “We will attack everywhere.” Spain was controlled by Arab Muslims for more than seven centuries until they were driven from power in 1492.

He said Arab regimes were accomplices to Israel. “My fellow Muslims, it is obvious that Arab and Islamic governments are not only impotent but also complicit … and you are alone on the battlefield. Rely on God and fight your enemies … make yourselves martyrs.”

Gas theft: Heads-up

Thursday, July 27th, 2006

Just a heads-up…

Last week, someone stole about 90 gallons of gas from some Salvation Army vans just off of Hopkins and Villard, they did about $3,500 in damage because they punctured the gas tanks since the Salvation Army vans has gas tank locks.

Today, I talked to someone that lives just off of Hopkins & Hampton, just a few blocks from the Salvation Army location. She runs a day care and they have a van they use to transport the kids, and last night, someone siphoned the gas out of her van, and her neighbor had their gas tank punctured to steal their gas.

If you park outside on Milwaukee’s North West side, watch your gas gage!
