This ditty from The Week magazine:
From the New York Times…For the first time since the war in Iraq began in 2003, none of the three major US television networks has a correspondent stationed in the country. Although violence in Iraq has subsided, some 130,000 U.S. members remain on duty there.
I’ve had two good friends (one reservist who was activated and one reservist who volunteered to return for additional tour(s)) go to Iraq in these latter stages. The friend who was activated spent all of 2007 over there, while the friend who volunteered went over back in December 2008. When he put in his papers, I asked him why he’s going. He said that, being a single guy, he hoped that by going he would take the place of somebody supporting a family.
Both have shared with me the positive works and achievements being accomplished over there. It’s sad, but not surprising, that Big TV finds these positive stories too boring to report.

It’s too bad they don’t cover all the violence over here.
Does someone have an agenda?
