The US House approves the $819 billion pork filled economic stimulus bill… Now the Senate will make it even worse.

This is a 100% Democrat bill. No GOP voted for it so if it succeeds, the they will get the credit and if it goes bellyup, the Dems will get the blame. I suspect the latter will happen but I hope the bill work with minimal damage to the economy.

Watching ABC 12 in Milwaukee tonight (weekly Lost fix)…Reporter Toya Washington appeared on a commercial break teaser for the 10 o’clock news saying…”The House approves the Economic Stimulus, how much will Wisconsin get…tonight at 10″….oh brother…playing to everyone in the gimme gimme gimme mode.

The money is not free, we(our government) are now proposing to take it out of our 401k and get this - wealth tax. Add up your net worth and write a check to the government based on what you are worth under penalty of jail, loss of house, bank accounts frozen, or great fine.
Might be a good idea to put some of the money under the bed and invest in some personal protection at this point?

I agree. Make the Democrats own this legislation. They already have the White House and a Congressional majority…the GOP has nothing to lose. I just hope some of the wishy-washy GOP Senators have the knuts to do the same. Wouldn’t be surprised if McCain torpedoes the Republicans in the House. He was my 4th choice as a POTUS candidate…I voted for him by default…his reaching across the aisle on this one would not be worth the comedy of watching the two-faced media call him a “maverick” for doing so.

All those older folks with money under the mattress don’t seem so crazy after all. Never underestimate the wisdom of older generations.

Yea, McCain could screw it up for the GOP in the Senate. If he says “my friends” one more time, I’m going to McPuke.
