Violent crime down 10%, but not for long
Today the Milwaukee Police Department announced the final crime numbers for 2008, and they show a 10% reduction in violent crime, this is a great thing, but in last nights budget address, Governor Doyle announced the end of Truth In Sentencing and welcomed back the parole system that will result in criminals being released from prisons years earlier, to resume their crime career.
After the people of Wisconsin fought so hard to jail, and keep in jail criminals, your governor is turning them loose.
Torte Reform is toast
Jim Doyle has destroyed the torte reform measures that Wisconsin has fought for over the years. Now, if you can be found 1% responsible in a lawsuit, you can be forced to pay the entire amount. Did you hear that businesses? They will destroy you.
Gas tax
Up, up and away!
Cigarette tax
Smoke? If you do, last years tax hike was just the beginning, it’s going up again. This is a tax that clearly hits the poor disproportionately.
Own a business?
Business taxes are going up, that means new businesses will start elsewhere and current businesses will have to consider moving or expanding outside of Wisconsin, costing us jobs.
Hospital Tax
That’s back and will easily pass since Republicans can’t stop it.
Teachers Pay
Say bye-bye to the QEO.
Screwed
During a recession, Wisconsin is going to impose massive tax hikes that will take millions and millions of dollars out of he private economy, and the few things I mention here is just the tip of the iceberg… We’re so screwed.

Business taxes, hospital taxes, teacher QEO, massive tax hikes- well, OK, but you forgot … “Doyle is open to TOLLS to help fund roads.”

Change. Unfortunately, after their done with us, we’ll be lucky to even have that in our pockets.

“Jim Doyle has destroyed the torte reform measures that Wisconsin has fought for over the years. Now, if you can be found 1% responsible in a lawsuit, you can be forced to pay the entire amount. Did you hear that businesses? They will destroy you.”
Actually, you might want to cite check that one. Under Wis. Stat. sec. 895.045:
“The liability of each person found to be causally negligent whose percentage of causal negligence is less than 51% is limited to the percentage of the total causal negligence attributed to that person. A person found to be causally negligent whose percentage of causal negligence is 51% or more shall be jointly and severally liable for the damages allowed.”
Thus, if the business is 1% liable it only pays 1% of the damages.

Person does not equal business.

Doyle has got to go. He’s killing us. His policies are going to bankrupt Wisconsin and leave us with no jobs. Everything he says is a lie. (Except for letting prisoners out of prison early). I truly believe he will let them out. Can you believe this clown? He has to go.

Super ID only responded to one item, and appeared to ignore many of the other ones which will hurt Wisconsin.
I guess even Super ID can’t persuade us that Doyle has a great idea. What does Super ID think about the rest of them?

Didn’t Doyle campaign on something like this: “We cannot; we must not; and I will not raise taxes”? I guess only Republicans are held accountable like when Bush 41 said: “Read my lips; no new taxes.” Why doesn’t that surprise me though?

More great reasons to leave Wisconsin.
I’ve often wondered, if Republicans and Libertarians made a “collective” concerted effort to move out of blue states and into red states, how would the blue states pay for all of their essential social programs?
It sure would be funny to watch.

Regarding butts:
“Under Doyle’s proposal, the state cigarette tax would increase to $2.52 a pack, causing Wisconsin to jump from the 15th highest state tax to the third behind only New York ($2.75) and New Jersey ($2.58). Wisconsin’s total tax, combined with the federal tax that goes to $1.01 on April 1, would be $3.53.” - http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29248417/
Whether you are a HackWeezer or a ButtNazi the constant increases in taxation on any single product - in this case where the tax paid will exceed the actual cost of the product - has got to be bothersome to you.
btw, we were screwed the moment Obawan was elected.

All I can think of is hopefully we will have Scott Walker soon. If he can win Milwaukee County as a Conservative, he can win the State. There are consequences to elections, and we will all pay the price for those who just wanted change without actually thinking about what the change would bring. I retire in 12 years, and I will not pay capital gains taxes to Wisconsin. I will leave this state before I pull my investments and start a business. Wisconsin will not see any of my retirement money! Why would anyone stay?

Lefty bloggers have coined a phrase that goes like this: “Look over there.”
A phrase that personifies their allegation that Republicans/Conservatives try to distract people from real issues by getting people worked up over little things. Their intent is to marginalize the likes of Charlie Sykes, Mark Belling, Jay Weber, Vicki McKenna and assorted conservative blogs.
In reality, they gave birth to this stupid notion out of desperation. After months of being beaten up over colossal wastes of MPS money, misconduct by MPS board members, misconduct by Milwaukee County board members, revelations of tax evasion by Obama cabinet members, assorted Bawney Fwankisms, etc, etc…lefties had to come up with a way to deflect all of this deserved criticism.
The real agenda being served here by lefties exists on a much larger scale. Employing a classic tactic of beating your enemy to the punch by accusing them of doing what you are, in fact, doing. All their bluster over every thing for which they blame Scott Walker serves to occupy their discussion while Doyle presides over the biggest fiscal f**kup in Wisconsin history.
Roland (takes two aspirin): Did you know that Doyle’s cocked hat of a budget will cost every man, woman, child and domestic animal in Wisconsin over $1000 from each of their pockets?…And that’s just to satisfy the current shortfall…not the upcoming one.
Response: (chorus of Bullock, Schmitz, Mathias, et al) LOOK OVER THERE!

Among those tax increases would be a new $272 million tax on oil company profits, which the corporations would be forbidden from passing along to their customers.
It’s like I’ve moved to Venezuela, only I didn’t have to put the cat in quarantine.

Hey Roland, this lefty tactic ranks right up there with “Oh yeah?” Like I said in another thread, they’ve got no humility. Can’t ever admit when they’re wrong.

More evidence that it’s all “just words” with Democrats comes from today’s MJS article on Doyle’s being open to toll roads: “Although the governor did not specifically advocate tolls, even entertaining the concept is a sharp turnaround from his 2003 vow that “as long as I am governor, we will not have toll roads in Wisconsin.”

Isn’t it great in an economy where so many people are breaking even, Doyle will be providing the push that sends them over the cliff? No cuts on state workers, no rollbacks on salaries, no cut backs in services, it’s all tax tax tax.
Hey Jim, you and your liberal friends would rather tax the people of this state to death, discourage small and large businesses and fund your mismanagement on the backs of the middle class than you would touch one state worker, do away with one state service or take a salary dump like a lot of people have been forced to.
Tax and spend liberals. Bad for Wisconsin, good for no one.

Until last year, I had a job that brought me to Wisconsin (I’m a FIB) n a regular basis to service the clients I had there. I always enjoyed my visits, and had some great clients.
I now wonder what is to become of them. They all own businesses which operate on small margins, and already faced strong competition from the internet because of the sales tax issue. With the burdens imposed by the Feds, and the new ones Doyle is going to impose, how can any business survive? And my former clients in Milwaukee itself have the sick day issue hanging over their heads.
Believe me, I don’t enjoy this at all. Besides, as an Illinois resident I’m in no position to gloat! After all, we have the ongoing Blow-dry-o-vich circus, and the Roland (Tombstone) Burris saga. And in Cook County, where I manage a retail store, the sales tax rate is 10%, so Illinois is just as bad. And the new Governor, Pat Quinn, has already made broad hints that we have our own tax hikes coming.
It all makes me wonder if I did the right thing in leaving Texas 16 years ago…

Looks like I moved from Wisconsin just in time. I’ll have a nice seat viewing Wisconsin implode while the liberals get their wish of a Wisconsin, where there are no small to medium businesses and people depending on the government for work and welfare.
So, I’ll sit back here in Nevada, where there is no income tax, property tax for a $250,000 home is around $800 and a business climate that actually encourages, not discourages growth.
Good luck, Wisconsin!!
