@ucinmke is reporting on Twitter that a Big Bend police officer is missing. She has not been heard from since 5:30 this evening. Hopefully everything will turn out okay, but it is something to watch.
Never Mind: Big Bend officer was at home, eating dinner. Phone was off the hook and the doors to her house were locked.

No cell phone?? Didn’t hear the pounding on the door?? Didn’t understand that she was expected somewhere other than at her kitchen table?? Huh??

I hope to get more info on this.
Do they get 2 hour dinner breaks?
Don’t squads let dispatch know when they take breaks and where?
Was her radio turned off,or not working in her house?
Did PD & Sheriff send squads out looking for her, without going to house and banging on windows first?

You would assume that if she was at home, he squad would be parked there too, wouldn’t you?

I have a lot of Law Enforcement living around me here on the Milwaukee/Oak Creek border and seen some pull squad in their garage on cold or rainy days.
This case seems a little odd with the cops phone off the hook too.

Maybe she was in the middle of a “nooner”?

If she was on-duty at the time I suspect she’ll be subject to a disciplinary action due to the apparent fact that she was not available or reported her where-abouts to the dispatcher.

Assuming she was on-duty, she’ll receive some form of discipline…a reprimand if it’s a first offense…some length of suspension if it’s her second or more.

Plain and simple, they did not have their mind on their job. Call in sick or quit. Either way make room for someone else who wants to do police work.
