Powerful support for Sgt. Crowley, especially from Kelly King.

“I supported him [Obama]. I voted for him. I will not again.”

The officer was seeer-reee-us. Best part: The hug, looking like true gratitude from Crowley and sincere backup from King.

But we should consider the other side, too, just to be fair:

p.s. I was just watching Biden on FoxNews criticizing critics of Obama Porkulus. He was surrounded by blue uniforms and silver badges, the ploy so obvious.

  2. Dave_Sheboygan Says:

I think Obama just shot himself in the foot.

  3. Amy P. Says:

“Just”, Dave? I think he’s been doing it since January 20, when a vast number of his campaign promises went flitting out the window of the Oval Office…

  4. John Smith Says:

Sadly, the people that will be the front line in pushing his agenda forward will be the same people he has no respect for, because they are the wrong color?

It is more than obvious now, that the reverse racism instilled and promoted by our own government for the last 30 years has had the opposite affect. It has created more racism, such that the president of the United States can judge others unjustly based on color. If the president can do it, then others shall follow?

Crowley will never be promoted now, his record will be marred for life, who’s next in Omama sights.

  5. Dave_Sheboygan Says:

Well, Obama does have a number of appendages!

  6. Chris Conner Says:

Kelly King comes from a Historic American Family that has worked for racial equity for generations. She is a direct descendant of Mary McCleod Bethune and niece of the late Singer/Humanitarian/Negro Spiritual Historian Joe Carter (http://speakingoffaith.publicradio.org/programs/joecarter/). She is a brilliant woman and if she says that this wasn’t racial profiling, then it wasn’t racial profiling.

It is important to remember that these comments were taped before Obama took any steps to reconcile with Crowley or take responsiblity for his role in igniting racial tension at the expense of a police officer who spearheaded the efforts in Cambridge to create racial profiling prohibitions and policies. Officer King spoke in a very specific context and may have changed her mind about Obama since her comments. Either way that is her right as a Free American.

She carries on the good work of her family in racial reconciliation as a police officer- challenging America to judge a man by his actions and character rather than the color of his skin- and she applied these treasured American and family principles both to Crowley and Obama alike.

What is most disappointing is that the nation is focused on whether or not she will vote for Obama again- and we have lost sight of everything else Officer King spoke about which inspires all of us to the noble goals of racial reconciliation.

The attacks from the Black Community and Black Media that abound against her are misplaced This misplaced priority is shared with the White Media- namely the primary concern has been over her dissatisfaction with Obama and the possiblity that she may not vote for him again- while ignoring the true nature of her comments and motivation. Who she may vote for is the very least of what she communicated.

To ignore the great ideals of the brotherhood and sisterhood of humankind she models for us and calls us to makes us a part of the problem, not the solution to racial tensions in America.

  7. Glenn D. Frankovis Says:

I just heard this morning that Sgt. Crowley will be accompanied by his attorney when he drinks beer with these two racists. Obviously Sgt. Crowley believes it’s the right thing to do by attending this attempt by Obama to try to divert attention from where Obanma’s heart really is. I’m just glad Sgt. Crowley is bringing his attorney to counter what will certainly be an arm twisting event.

  8. Duke Says:

As neat as it would be to see the inside of the White House - probably the parts not shown to people on “the tour” - I think if I were Crowley I’d beg off. Sitting in front of a clown pretending to be President of the U.S. would probably push me to say something nasty. Of course it would be seen as ‘racist.’

Being “Joe the Cop” wouldn’t really be a career enhancer.

  9. John Smith Says:

Crowley should not attend and should send his attorney to reconcile damages, for he will no-longer be promoted. People in general now do not trust Crowley, blindly believe Omama and think there is some middle blame here, because the media as a whole told them so. He will not be able to get the trust back (reputation), only damages for being falsely accused BY OUR OWN PRESIDENT (defamation).

  10. Glenn D. Frankovis Says:

“Being “Joe the Cop” wouldn’t really be a career enhancer.” Duke, I’ll drink to that.

  11. gus Says:

Henry Gates is a wonderful man. He is a Harvard Professor.
    Cops are low lifes.
Harvard Professors offer Hope and Change.
Cops merely harass black folks and eat donuts.
Obama was right. He is my hero.

  12. Jay Says:

Crowley is right to smell a trap.

The caller and the cop both behaved as reasonable people would. The prof blew it up, the press branded the caller and the cop as racists and then the President showed his prejudice.

Crowley will be a marked man within Cambridge. With his peers he will probably be fine. But the local and national press will continue to watch this guy.

  13. Dave_Sheboygan Says:

What would you do if you were Crowley?

I’d pass and not give Obama the photo-op. Barry had the nerve to practically ruin this good cops career and life and now he wants to share a beer? Give me a flippin’ break.

I wonder if Barry will bring his telepromters along to stage his apology??

  14. HeatherRadish Says:

I’d be wearing a mini video camera, to put the raw, unapproved footage on YouTube. I assume the Secret Service patted Crowley (and his lawyer, and his union rep) down good to make sure he wasn’t wearing one before they let him into the backyard there.

Barry had the nerve to practically ruin this good cops career and life and now he wants to share a beer?

Barry’s not having a beer, he’s having Bud Light. ;) Would have loved to have been in the focus group where they decided what Barry’s “favorite beer” should be for maximum approval pollage…

  15. Dave_Sheboygan Says:

I think Barry has whatever Michelle tells him to have.

Maybe Crowley should wear a GOP t-shirt for the visit.

  16. Glenn D. Frankovis Says:

I wouldn’t sit down with either of these two racist bastards. If Sgt. Crowley is any kind of real cop, he knows what he’s dealing with and he knows Mr. Bojangles is going to try to get him to say he was wrong the way he handled Gates.

  17. Jaeson Says:

This beer summit is just about the silliest thing I’ve ever seen. How can anyone take Obama seriously?

  18. Peter Says:

You know Crowley went out and gave a statement to the media right away, don’t you? To keep those bastards from making things up and releasing it through their own whores in the state-run media to make him look bad … say maybe tell a reporter that Crowley “apologized” and accepted his “teaching moment”?

  19. Glenn D. Frankovis Says:

I’m hearing this morning that this gathering didn’t work out exactly like Obama had hoped. Sgt. Crowley not only held his ground, but the black Sergeant who also responded to the Gates residence right after Crowley got there is none too happy with Gates’ conduct at the scene and inflammatory statements afterward. He wrote a letter to Gates expressing his feelings and asked Crowley to give it to Gates. He also reportedly sent a copy of that letter to CNN.

Well after Obama is run out of Office in 2012, he can always get a job teaching race relations with Gates at Harvard, or maybe the two of them can start their own church and spew racist rhetoric.

  20. Dave_Sheboygan Says:

Were is the apology from Gates to the lady who phoned the cops?

I think Barry will have a job in Venezuela after 2012.

  21. Jeff K. Says:

Crowly should have requested a Sam Adams beer. But then Homeland Security would have labeled him a right-wing extremist.

  22. Glenn D. Frankovis Says:

The letter written by black Cambridge Police Sergeant Leon K. Lashley as presented by CNN’s Donnie Lemons (he calls Sgt. James Crowley “Jimmy” Crowley, so I guess it’s okay for me to call him Donnie). Read along and pay attention to the part where Donnie is reading Sgt. Lashley’s letter and “corrects” Sgt. Lashley for “omitting” the word am (“I think he meant to say I am”). Actually, Sgt. Lashley’s letter was was grammatically correct and Donnie is the one who was wrong. Maybe if Donnie had actually read the letter a couple times before he read it on air he would have figured that out. The letter as present by CNN and Donnie Lemons: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oP7ujiJ1Sjs

  23. HeatherRadish Says:

    Gates’ daughter reports.

The last sentence is particularly annoying.

  24. Dave_Sheboygan Says:

So what Gates is martyr now? I’m still waiting for him to apologize to the lady who phone the police.

  25. John Smith Says:

Apparent denial, no mention of racial diversity in the police force, no mention of racial diversity in past police chiefs, current sheriff, only mentioned that 800,000 Africans are in prison.

-Burdens the community to about 32 billion per year to house the 800,000 inmates.
-No mention of the victims of the 800,000 inmates in prison.
-No mention of the severity of the crimes committed. The are not Mary Jane crimes.
-No mention that they comprise almost 50% of the entire prison population, but only 13% of the national population.
-No mention of the disparity in the severity of crimes committed by uncaring African Americans, or how many were arrested by African Americans that care.
-No mention of what the community has sacrificed bending over backwards to help, but they can’t get the kids to school with lunch in hand.
-No mention of the disparity/percentage of deadbeat dads/single mothers.

Solution: Stop playing race card and participate. If you are an adult, act like one. If you play the race card, have some sense to look at what is really happening and how much the community is help and victimized. We do not want to end up like Detroit.

  26. Paul Says:

Gates mentions the 800,000 Blacks in prisons, and how he is now one of them.

That’s interesting. Prison usually means the individual is a convicted felon. If memory serves, were the charges not dropped?

That little twit also libeled the officer, stating he fudged the police report. This is a meme among the liberals in this case. Crowley lied, case closed. Makes one wonder the true impact Mark Fuhrman had on every officer in performing their duty.

  27. Glenn D. Frankovis Says:

I forgot to add that the music at the end of the You-Tube video is priceless.

  28. Glenn D. Frankovis Says:

Gates’ daughter and her article are evidence that the apple did not fall far from the tree.

  29. stalker3 Says:

    Was this conciliation hearing mandatory?
    Did he punch a card?
