If you want an honest assessment of the proposed health care legislation, I encourage everyone to seek out a diversity of sources. When those sources provide summaries of the bill, check them against the bill itself: H.R.3200 America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009 (Introduced in House).

Congresswoman Moore has taken the scripting process one-step further than other ill-prepared representatives featured in several viral videos circulating the internet.
Rather than attempt to think on her feet with flash card talking points close at hand, Rep. Moore (D) will only address questions submitted in advance via email ( [email protected] ).  Her announcement also states: “Those who plan to attend need to submit their questions online prior to the event.”  I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE EVERY CONSTITUENT OF WISCONSIN’S 4TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT TO GET YOUR QUESTIONS IN!!! You better plan on attending the event as well, since it sounds like they will be calling on cherry-picked questioners.Â
Why she chose an inner-city neighborhood with a high crime rate during afternoon rush hour on a Tuesday in a part of her district that typically falls in lockstep with whatever the Democrat party does is painfully obvious. This event will be tightly scripted propaganda rather than one meant to respect and consider a diversity of concerns.

If you want to see a Representative who is making themselves available to their constituency, go to this site:
http://www.conservative.org/about/DistrictTownHallMeetings.htm
and scroll down to Jim Sensenbrenner’s schedule of meetings.

“Why she chose an inner-city neighborhood with a high crime rate during afternoon rush hour on a Tuesday in a part of her district that typically falls in lockstep with whatever the Democrat party does is painfully obvious.”
It’s obvious….she chose North Division as the location because it happens to fall in her district. What, she shouldn’t choose that location (or any other in Milwaukee’s Central City, by your logic) simply because it might make some folks uncomfortable?
August 8th, 2009 at 12:17 pm
She thinks she needs a passport to go south of the Interstate.
August 8th, 2009 at 1:36 pm
Why don’t they just send the person/team who is preparing her answers?
August 8th, 2009 at 3:00 pm
Hey Zach, answer this question since you’re so “enlightened”. If white people make up a significant percentage of Gwen Moore’s constituents, then why does she feel it necessary to be part of the Black Congressional Caucus? And here’s another question. How many times has she ever voted against the recommendations (orders) of the BCC? I suppose you’d feel “comfortable” with a white Congressman belonging to a “White Congressional Caucus” then.
August 8th, 2009 at 3:28 pm
Zach, I really don’t have a problem with her being in a high crime area and minimal parking at a remarkably inconvenient time (Aside from the possibility of her son providing tire slashing, um, I mean security). It is part of her district after all.
BUT will she be holding more meetings in other parts of her district? Why or why not? You honestly think she’s too busy to be holding more than one meeting on this issue of such importance?
I do have a problem with her, as my Congressional Representative, not responding to my letters. So much for democracy.
I’ll await your dissembling….. please try to answer my question about why she hasn’t scheduled more meeetings. Because I don’t expect her to. (perhaps a letter several months from now) Nor do I expect her to select my abortion coverage to answer. Because there’s not really a civil way to ‘discuss’ the repugnancy of slicing up embryoes at taxpayers expense unless one has a very finely honed sense of irony. Irony requries intellgence.

Gwen Moore is as dumb as a box of hammers.
Zach doesn’t have any respect for her. Zach is a liberal and to liberals ideology (and power0 is everything. As long as Gwen the very very dim bulb continues to vote exactly how her masters tell her. Zach is happy.

Gwen Moore’s response to anyone who questions Obamacare will be no different than the response of the so-called AARP “representatives” to their membership in Dallas Texas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoMNDdQ1_h0
And they call us Nazis!

North Division is in the 5th District
Crime warning if you plan to attend the meeting

Possibly Chief Flynn can hold Roll Call in front of North Division to show that the area is well protected and you can be made more “comfortable if you attend

I am going to 2 or 3 of Paul Ryan’s sessions. Wondering if I need to bring a crowbar, a tire iron or brass knuckles to defend myself against the stormtroopers, brownshirts, goons and thugs from SEIU Astroturfed in by The Messiah Himself.

“Gwen Moore is as dumb as a box of hammers.”
Come on, Gus, stop insulting hammers. At least they do some work.
August 8th, 2009 at 4:12 pm
OK…I’ll go point by point just for Zach:
Gwen chose a weekday, thereby making it harder for those with jobs to attend.
She has only one two hour meeting scheduled, which limits options for all her constituents. Compare this to Jim Sensenbrenner’s schedule of meetings.
She chose to hold it during afternoon rush hour, again making it less convenient for her constituents.
She chose a location in the heart of her base of support. She obviously is trying to dodge those folks who are upset over Obamacare. And yes, Zach, it is a high crime area of Milwaukee so rightly or wrongly, some of her constituents will feel uncomfortable going to 10th & Center Streets.
Don’t forget that she is pre-screening the questions. Put it all together and it’s obvious that basic aspects of public service are foreign to old Gwen.
August 8th, 2009 at 4:27 pm
I just love it when a white guy who can live anywhere but chooses to live in a southern suburb tries to disparage other white people about feeling “uncomfortable” in the inner city - especially knowing that there are some of us who actually worked there for the better part of our law enforcement careers and know damn well the dangers that are present in and around 10th and Center and elsewhere in the inner city. Typical lefty.
August 8th, 2009 at 6:30 pm
Wow, one whole listening session, that is one hard-working Democrat.
My congressman, Paul Ryan, (aren’t you all jealous) is holding SEVENTEEN of them in a two week period.
Democrats are running scared.
August 8th, 2009 at 6:51 pm
“why does she feel it necessary to be part of the Black Congressional Caucus?”
Gee, I don’t know, maybe because she happens to be a black Congresswoman.
And Glenn, as to your comment, I’ll just note I work in Milwaukee. In fact, one of my offices happens to be located on MLK & Clarke, not too far from North Division, and I spend a good amount of time each week doing home visits in Milwaukee.
Nice try though!
August 8th, 2009 at 6:56 pm
“Gwen chose a weekday, thereby making it harder for those with jobs to attend.”
Roland, it’s not as if Gwen Moore chose to hold her listening session at 9 or 10 in the morning, like Rep. Tom Petri. I’d say that severely limits the ability of his constituents to attend his listening sessions, wouldn’t you agree.
August 8th, 2009 at 6:59 pm
“I’ll await your dissembling….. please try to answer my question about why she hasn’t scheduled more meeetings.”
Phil, why don’t you call Rep. Moore’s office and ask one of her staff? See, I don’t work for Rep. Moore, so I can’t speak to why she hasn’t scheduled more meetings.
August 8th, 2009 at 7:07 pm
I think the fact that Zach chooses to live in South Milwaukee (94.81% White) and drive to Milwaukee for work proves that he is a.) racist and b.) doesn’t care about global warming.
It’s a good thing that the voters of South Milwaukee saw this and chose to vote for less racist and more enviromentally-conscious candidates for the school board.

FOUR STEPS TO SAVE HEALTH CARE

August 8th, 2009 at 8:12 pm
I couldn’t help but notice that Zach didn’t adress this issue:
“I suppose you’d feel “comfortable†with a white Congressman belonging to a “White Congressional Caucus†then. -Glenn
August 8th, 2009 at 8:25 pm
Zach, words aren’t adequate to describe how impressed I am that you work in an office at MLK and Clarke and make home visits. I made home visits too at all hours of the day and night and often with my gun drawn. I’m sure I have an even better understanding of these neighborhoods than you do, but please tell everybody why they should be “comfortable” going to 10th and Center for this meeting. Tell us why evan’s comment (#9) should not give one cause for concern when in this neighborhood. Maybe your “representative” of choice could do more to actually be “representative” and hold several meetings at various locations in her district to receive constituent input rather than hiding in the central city at her one and only meeting on the issue or showing up as the “guest of honor” for the Obamacare rally at Serb Hall complete with her ACORN-like supporters gathering names at the tables.
And she’s a member of the Black Congressional Caucus because she’s black? That’s the best you can come up with for a response to my question? Okay, so using your logic you’d have no problem with a white Confgressman belonging to a White Congressional Caucus? And how about her voting record? She’s your “representative” of choice. Maybe you can tell us when she’s ever voted against a recommendation of the BCC. I’d say “nice try” but you’d have to at least try first.
Paul, someone recently informed me that Zach moved from South Milwaukee to (are you ready for this jump into diversity?) - Cudahy! Any truth to that Zach? I mean there are some really nice places in Riverwest where you’d be right at home with the other lefties and so close to work you could walk on nice days.
August 8th, 2009 at 11:13 pm
Don’t know why you would want to compare Moore to Petri on this issue. Petri is having at least 11 meetings on different days at the following times: 11a, 9a, 930a, 230a, 10a, 230am, 930am, 330p, 3p, 1p and 10a. He could vary his times a little more, in my opinion, but how does his effort stack up against Moore’s ONE meeting? ONE…in regards to the most significant domestic issue of our time.
You’re a diehard Moore supporter Zach, we get it. But there is a growing number of folks that are realizing Moore is ignoring them and has no interest in serving or representing them…which includes me.
August 9th, 2009 at 12:36 am
Gwen Moore is a moron.
Any lib care to refute that?
Zach?
Capper?
Folktunes?
For the love of God, you’d have to be retarded not to notice.
August 9th, 2009 at 7:28 am
Wisconsin, and particularly Milwaukee, residents should be expressing their deep appreciation to those of us “represented” by Gwen Moore. We are taking the bullet for the greater good — she does a lot less damage muted in DC, stuffed onto committees where she holds no influence, than what she used to do in Milwaukee, supported by the bullying black caucus locally, where she seemed to wield a much bigger stick. It’s just too bad she didn’t take her criminal son with her to DC, and instead left him in Milwaukee to remain as a disruptive force.
August 9th, 2009 at 8:28 am
Now that’s something we can both agree on Nick! That said, I look forward to seeing her dethroned next year in favor of someone who will be a real representative of his/her constituents and not be part of a racist solidarity movement. As for those like Zach who think they are somehow gaining favor with blacks by their condescending rhetoric expressed to other whites, I can assure our readers that most blacks see right through that and those who are of an Afro-centric mindset, like Gwen Moore, just laugh at it.
August 9th, 2009 at 10:19 am
Gwen Moore will be a career backbencher in Toontown, er, Washington.
August 9th, 2009 at 11:12 am
My e-mail to Gwen Moore will let her know that it is too damn hot to wear a bullet proof vest just in order to hear her canned answers to preselected soft questions of her choice. She is another embarassment to the Milwaukee area residents.
August 9th, 2009 at 1:33 pm
I have no problem with the meeting being held at North Division. I do have a problem with pre-screened questions and a single, solitary meeting with the public.
August 10th, 2009 at 8:10 am
I am suggesting that anyone who goes to this event to have a video camera with them. I’m guessing that not only will the questions be censored, but what take place there will be censored too.
August 10th, 2009 at 8:33 am
Why would anyone think that a proclaimed racist would be good for community?
So, basically everyone else in the community who is not black can get bent?
They really have to stop celebrating racists. Diversity good, racists bad. Next time really think before you vote for racist, especially if their not your race and have agenda base on race hatred.
For the last thirty years this strange game of shut up and take it if a particular race card is played has got to stop. It has not help, look at what Milwaukee has become. Parading around a bunch of racists as some sort of diverse victory for all, not!
