Yes, in spite of the AP’s “bombshell” headline, you read my analysis correctly. Totally unbelievable, isn’t it? The AP spin machine isn’t wasting any time setting its sights on Scott Walker.

In a remarkable waste of text, concocted in an apparent attempt to prove “hypocrisy” on the part of Walker and his campaign staffers, the AP concludes that the $24,500.00 in “food related expenses” the Walker campaign reported in its finance reports “contradicts Walker’s central campaign message.”

But the AP bases its conclusion on an analysis of Walker’s data from “the second half of 2008,” and all of 2009; focusing only on data from the “last half of 2009″ for Barrett.

Using the AP’s own numbers, a savvy reader might note that $24,500.00 spent over 547.5 days shakes out to $44.75 per day, and $10,000.00 spent over 182.5 days would be $54.79 per day.

Even an MPS graduate would know that $54.79 is more than $44.75, right? So why isn’t the headline “Barrett outspends Walker on food?” Your guess is as good as mine.

What’s more cowardly than a press pool hit piece that a reporter won’t even attach his or her own name to? It’s the ultimate sucker punch, and this one reeks to me of something dropped on some AP loyalist by some agenda-driven union hack, pushing for a non-story to become a headline. (And speaking of agenda-driven union hacks who specialize in ginning-up fake anti-Walker news, I have one in mind as I type this.)

And to the AP hack who would take crappy bait like this and run with it, congrats on some real courageous journalism. Pieces like this are why you won’t have a job in 3 years. Have fun at Alterra, frothing milk for lattes.

This is just one of the many reasons that organizations in the Jurassic Media like AP will in all likelihood be out of business within the decade, unless they can convince government to prop them up.

Heh. Nice catch, Bruce! The Brewers could use you.

Another: $1070/30 Johnny V occasions = $35.66 per occasion, or about $9 each for a party of four, including tip.

Yep. Gorging on lobster and caviar, they is.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but all wire stories carry complete bylines.

The question is, why did Journal Communications choose not to name the AP writers?

In this instance, Scott Bauer and Ryan Foley.

A quick google shows most so-called “news” outlets are not revealing the authors.

    Interesting.

  3. Paul Says:

Scott Walker could find cures for cancer and AIDS, but the local leftard klavern would still fault him for not curing autism.

  4. gus Says:

Barrett is considerably bigger than Walker.
    He needs more calories.
    Right lefties?

  5. HeatherRadish Says:

Hrm. What’s Barrett’s BMI? Is he a threat to national security? And food “causes global warming”, so Walker is clearly the best choice here.

C’mon, Democrats and lefties, be consistent.

(Yeah, I know, it’s like asking a cat to stop staring out the window at the birds.)

  6. HeatherRadish Says:

It’s getting worse as it spreads. Now Walker “outspends” Barrett, if you compare 18 months of Walker expenses to 6 months of Barrett.

I know “journalists” aren’t expect to take math past sixth grade, but counting to 20 in order is kindergarten readiness…
