Milwaukee has at least one Alderman that thinks that the best person to oversee how Milwaukee spends federal stimulus money, is a man convicted of embezzling from his campaign fund. That’s right, nbsp; Ald. Jim Bohl thinks that the city should hire former Alderman, now convicted felon Paul Henningsen oversee this money.

In a recent Common Council committee meeting, [Ald. Jim] Bohl suggested that city officials hire convicted ex-Ald. Paul Henningsen to help them figure out how to dole out stimulus cash to respond to Milwaukee’s foreclosure crisis.

“I will say what some may call the unthinkable,” Bohl said at a Steering and Rules Committee meeting “If the Department of City Development and the city had some brains, frankly they would ask Ald. Henningsen to, with some of the stretched dollars, come and work on this program.”

If only they had some brains.

Who better to oversee the distribution of taxpayer dollars than a guy who spent time behind bars for filching campaign funds?

Henningsen served on the Common Council for nearly 20 years, representing downtown Milwaukee. But he was forced out of office in 2003 after a jury convicted him of embezzling more than $30,000 from his campaign fund and of falsifying campaign finance reports.

He was sentenced to 33 months in prison.

As Dan Bice adds:

And while we’re at it, how about recommending Rosa Cameron for a slot on the city Ethics Board, putting Jeff Pawlinski in charge of the city budget or naming Michael McGee to the Fire and Police Commission? All three ex-aldermen are convicted felons.

What this says to me, is that Bohl is clearly out of touch with reality and needs to be replaced himself.

Ald. Bohl is completely out of touch with reality on this issue. He is also a man that wants to have power no matter what. He is an unfair, sneaky, racist, and childish man. His judgment should not be considered in any manner at all. When his seat is up, it will be replaced.
