It sounds like the Lakefront is going nuts tonight, John from mkescan is covering things on Twitter. The Sheriffs Department is bringing deputies in from the jail to assist deputies and MPD in several large fights in the area of North Point.

Via MKEScan: A sheriffs deputy was nearly run over at the lakefront, you can hear the audio of the call here.

Every year, same time, same place.

    Its those crazy tea-party-ers, No?

  4. mkescan Says:

It may of been worse then what I tweeted, I can only monitor Sheriff squads. My guess is MPD had a lot going too with their squads down in that area.
Wonder what Wisconsin Ave looks like.
Hopefully media does a good job at reporting this.

  5. Michael_Haz Says:

Wait. Didn’t Tom Barrett send in the Bookmobile to quell the disturbance, like he did last summer?

I turned Channel 6 on briefly but didn’t see anything about the lakefront. They did show a piece about a double homicide which occurred Saturday night in the 2500 block of N. Richards where it was reported that a bunch (I think I heard the number 9) of UWM students living. I don’t know if the victims were students (one victim was reported to be 30YOA), but during an interview with a couple of the people who live there one girl said it’s a safe neighborhood. My first thought was, compared to what?

It’s occurred to me that the HopeNChange crowd has no intention of changing their own selves.

At least no one was shot. This time.

Waiting for the obligatory “people are bored and have nothing else to do” excuse for this insanity. I have $40 in the bank until payday, and have exhausted my reading list and DVD collection. Yet I don’t go out and create havoc on the lakefront so the other citizens of Milwaukee - who pay taxes to maintain and enjoy the lakefront - can’t enjoy an evening on the beach.

This is BS. I don’t care what it takes. Impound cars. Bring in UHauls and throw them all in jail. I will not spend another summer listening to all the nonsense about cruising and watching video of thugs causing a disturbance because they think it’s cool.

  10. Glenn D. Frankovis Says:

You know what I found fascinating, but not really a surprise, was the jsonline article that I linked made no mention of the things that the commenters below the article who were there talked about. It’s as if the reporter was talking about a completely different incident.

  11. Jaeson Says:

This is typically where leftists like those in the Jurassic Media will attempt to excuse the behavior of certain segments of society by invoking the nonsense known as cultural relativism.

The last sociology textbook I read did a similar thing by citing the bad behavior of some African Americans in movie theaters, who don’t have enough self discipline to keep their traps shut for an hour and a half, as an example of cultural relativism.

  12. Jaeson Says:

For myself, I honestly don’t care anymore. I’m simply not going to go to parts of town where this kind of barbaric behavior occurs, because I know that the Jurassic Media, and government officials, will do everything not only to apoligize for and excuse it, but to actually protect and preserve it as some kind of cultural expression.

So as far as I’m concerned, Water Street, the Lakefront, can all go the way of RiverSplash, Water Street, Northridege Mall, Capital Court, etc. I’m just going to avoid the wonderful multi-cultural experiences that the left likes to nurture altogether.

  13. mkescan Says:

I think it’s going to be bad this year because there are no summer jobs for the teens and college kids. So there will be more of them out all day acting stupid.
(Manager at a Kopp’s said people who lost jobs making up to $60,000 a year are applying there)

Hopefully Sheriff Dept & MPD will set up a patch, so they know what each other are doing and where all the units are on the big crowd days at the Lakefront. The other night it was “is MPD at xx” “is MPD doing xx”
They set up patches for a lot of things with the old MPD radio system (MPD F5 & Sheriff F2)but I haven’t heard any yet since MPD went to all OpenSky.

  14. crimefighter08 Says:

thats because the radios don’t work

  15. mkescan Says:

Hey Crimefighter08, I am wondering if they are afraid to put up a patch. Just imagine having a patch that every newsroom would be able to hear, and the OpenSky radios sound like crap, don’t work or drop out a lot. One of these days some suburban dept or the Sheriff Dept is going to ask MPD to patch something, if there is something like a search for a suspect with both depts involved, and I sure hope I am listening.

Forget to add that I do not like how they only have photos of the beach. Where are the parking lots and other areas on LMD
