We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

On this day, September 17th, 1787, the Constitution of the United States was signed and accepted by the representatives of those 13 upstart colonies, and the greatest nation known to man, took another step in its creation. Please take the time to read this amazing document.

The Wisconsin GrandSons of Liberty will remember this event this afternoon:

The Wisconsin Friends of the Constitution is having a one-mile group march and speakers in commemorative support for the US Constitution & Bill of Rights on Friday, September 17, through downtown Milwaukee. This event celebrating Constitution Day starts at 4 pm from Pere Marquette Park on Old World 3rd and Kilbourn. Stops will be made at Red Arrow Park, Cathedral Square Park, and the War Memorial for commentary and select readings.

    Thanks for the info. I didn’t see anything about this when I scanned jsonline so it’s apparently not news to them. However, Patrick McIlheran has a good blog entry today on new attempts to curtail our constitutional freedom of speech.

    1st Amendment: We’ll attack freedom of speach and call it the “Fairness Doctrine.” We’ll attack freedom of religion and call it “seperation of church and state” or say your opinion doesn’t count because it is faith-based. We’ll attack freedom of assembly by saying that your tea party gathering is racist.

    2nd Amendment: “the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” does not mean we can’t infringe on your right to keep and bear arms.

    3rd Amendment: Your safe for now. We don’t like the military, so we won’t need to quarter them in your home.

    4th Amendment: We’re working on a way to take your stuff for the greater good. It’s only fair.

    5th Amendment: We like this one, for now.

    8th Amendment: Any fine is not excessive if it is levied for not buying authorized health insurance.

    10th Amendment: This doesn’t mean states can pass laws to protect its borders when the federal government won’t.

    12th Amendment: The electoral college is no good when it elects a republican president.

    14th Amendment: Equal protection under the law only applies to Americans who are not of European ancestery.

    15th Amendment: Although we don’t want race to be a qualification for voting, there is nothing wrong with race being a qualification for college admission or a job if we call it “affirmative action.”

    16th Amendment: We love this one, since we love taxes.

    We won’t stop until we throw this document out, or pervert it to suit or needs. We call ourselves “progressives,” and controlling the masses and making them dependant on government is progress.

    I feel a rant coming on that I need to get off my chest this Constitution Day.

    Though it comes from the Declaration of Independence, long-time insults coming from the left that have been increasing in intensity as of late have me thinking about the phrase, “all men are created equal.”

    To quote George Orwell, “some are more equal than others.”

    There seems to be an ingrained discriminatory dysfunction in leftists where they regularly disparages folks who live in trailer parks, using it as a kind of insult towards the right.

    For some reason, there are certain types of discrimination that leftists find agreeable, and this is one of them.

    To me, it’s very telling that people who subscribe to an ideology that advertises itself as champions of the downtrodden and that supposedly abhors discrimination, would openly discriminate against an entire group of people in a less fortunate socio-economic class.

    It’s an excellent indicator as to how well their kind adheres to the standards that they seek to impose upon everyone else.

    Folks who live in trailer parks have the maturity level to live within their means with what they can afford, which is far more than can be said for our current crop of rulers, who behave like undisciplined teenagers at the shopping mall with with unfettered access to their parent’s credit card.

    In most instances, trailer park folks are honest hard-working individuals employed at some local manufacturing plant, assembly line, distribution center, or are in some kind of service industry.

    Trailer park folks work to produce goods and services such as tables, chairs, and coffee cups, so that leftists can be served their lattes while spewing worthless pontifications about social justice at their favorite cafe, free from the worries of having to provide for themselves.

    They work to support the mooching lifestyle of lazy socialists and communists.

    Leftists should be deeply ashamed of themselves.

    Rant over.

    Of course you have The Second Coming of Christ deliberately rewriting the Declaration of Independence in order to remove the concept of our rights coming from God. After all, He is God and He and the Almight State grant us those rights.

    Besides, God doesn’t exist (sarc off).
