Mark Neumann is claiming that he is receiving “overwhelming support from Tea Party members.” But the reality isn’t so… Overwhelming.

The Wisconsin 9/12 Project, which is not affiliated with any of the TEA Party organizations, held an email straw poll of its members, and Mark Neumann received 62% of the respondents. What Neumann fails to mention is there were only 21 people that responded to the straw poll. Hardly overwhelming support.

And to give you another viewpoint on this group, they also show Dave Westlake leading Ron Johnson 90.5%-9.5% That is a laughable number, but it shows how far on the fringe the people that replied to this poll are.

So Mark Neumann does NOT have the “overwhelming support from Tea Party members.” Remember, the Wisconsin 9/12 Project isn’t even associated with any of the TEA Party groups. What Neumann has is the support of a very tiny group of people that are pretty far out of the Conservative mainstream…. Westlake with 95.5% C’mon!

This weekend marks the 9th anniversary of a day that still seems so fresh in my memory. I will be commemorating the day with a few thousand of my friends at the Racine Town Hall & Tribute. I hope to see lots of you there, and don’t forget to bring your donation for Operation Care Package.

Now let your Weekend Open Line, begin.

Does it surprise anyone that both Mark Neumann & Tom Doyle Barrett, are telling the same lie?

When a politician retires from politics, they have to get rid of their campaign war chest. Usually it is given to charities or returned to the donors.

From WPRI:

Wisconsin Statute 11.19(1) governs how “residual” campaign funds can be spent:

Residual funds may be used for any political purpose not prohibited by law, returned to the donors in an amount not exceeding the original contribution, or donated to a charitable organization or the common school fund.

Doyle had roughly $1.8 million socked away, and so far, he has given one million dollars, not to charity, or back to the donors, but to the liberal attack group The Greater Wisconsin Committee, who is using the money to run attack ads against Scott Walker. Tom Barrett once pledged not to allow this sort of advertising on his behalf, but Charlie Sykes asks: WILL HE SAY ‘NO’ NOW?

Doyle is attacking Walker, Barrett is attacking Walker, Neumann is attacking Walker and Democrats are lining up to vote for Neumann in the primary… Clearly Scott Walker terrifies liberal Democrats.

You Obama voters proud of The Messiah yet?

Is he universally loved by one and all? Bringing a clear and unified agenda to your party? Improving our standing on the global stage?

Truth hurts, just a little, doesn’t it? Well, at least you’ll always have tomorrow afternoon from 4:00-5:30 at Clas Park.

As the Gershwins wrote, ‘they can’t take that away from you.’

Scary things happen when you vote for whomever your union (or the voices in your head, but I repeat myself) insists you vote for. The rest of you non-union folks remember that. And remember who did this to you, and to our country.

Yet they call our side the ‘echo chamber.’ I do so love this video.

A couple observations on this interview of President Obama by Good Morning America’s George Stephanopoulos. “The One we’ve been waiting for,” according to Oprah Winfrey, who was to be the post-partisan uniter has really turned out to be a thin-skinned reactionary that is, in fact, 100% partisan. Is it reasonable for him to expect Republicans to come to the table while he accuses them of taking Americans “hostage?” This level of rhetoric is not productive and lacks the most basic respect for differing viewpoints. This guy needs to grow up, realize you don’t run a country like you run a campaign and finally assume the responsibilities of the job.

Mr. President, continuously blaming Bush and the Republicans for our situation 20 months into your term is admitting you are powerless to do anything about it.

Notice that, in Obama’s brain…a tax cut is the same as “spending.” In response to questions about tax policy, he says things like “if you’re going to spend $95 Billion for these tax cuts….” In his brain, it’s the government’s money. Taxing people less is an “expense.” No where does cutting the costs of government enter into the discussion. So all of us have it wrong…it’s not OUR money…it’s HIS money and if he is gracious enough to let us keep some, we should consider ourselves lucky.

Best part of the interview is the last minute or so. Stephanopoulos presses him pretty hard and causes the Obamatron to get stuck in a talking point loop. The bloom is off the rose. Good job, George.

I took this survey this morning. Mark Neumann wasn’t mentioned anywhere in it.

A combative President Obama visits Milwaukee, and goes briefly off-prompter. [My detractors] “talk about me like a dog,” he says.

Nothing like preaching to a hand-picked choir to get a community organizer fired up, eh?

Oh, for the love of God, get over yourself, Barry. It’s not about you. It’s about your administration’s ineptitude, and your radical policy decisions. This is why your approval ratings rise when you go on vacation. We try so hard to like you; but when you speak, you make it such a challenge.

The office you hold is bigger than you. Give your thin-skinned, sanctimonious bellyaching a rest for once. Be the “Great Uniter” you were purported to be by the elite media, just once.

We’re trying to do you a favor here, sir. So that when you open your mouth, you look less like a ‘Special Olympian.’

Some enterprising reporter ought to ask Milwaukee Chief of Police Ed Flynn and his boss, Mayor Tom Barrett why detectives are no longer assigned to shootings, unless the bullet enters the torso of the victim.

It is clear that this chief wants to dismantle the detective bureau, leaving the initial investigative work to the patrol officers. Now I understand that these officers are capable of doing investigative work, but do they have the time to dedicate to in depth investigations without their other duties suffering? I think they clearly can’t, there are only so many hours in a day, with many calls for service that are already delayed, or never responded to at all. The patrol officers are our front line of defense against the thugs, they do an awesome job, but they must be free to do that job.

Is the chief saving enough money by not assigning detectives that have specialized training and experience, to make up for the added danger he is putting the citizens of Milwaukee in? If someone is shot in the arm, does that make the shooter less dangerous because he’s a bad shot? Do we deserve to be subjected to another crime that will be more serious, or deadly, before the detectives are allowed to enter the investigation?

We at BadgerBlogger received a report that during the over night hours of Sept. 3-4, an off duty sheriffs deputy was attacked in the 400 block of East Michigan, in downtown Milwaukee. The deputy was beaten badly enough to send him to the hospital, and robbed. Even though there were detectives available, none were dispatched.

The same night, around Teutonia & Hampton, three armed thugs carjacked a victim, stealing their car. Again, detectives were available, none were dispatched.

Chief Flynn, Mayor Tom Barrett, is the safety of your citizens worth what you are saving by not using detectives to investigate violent crime?
