Good for them, the citizens said no, the county board ignored them and today, 7 of the 8 are unemployed.

Seven of eight Monroe supervisors recalled over vote
Seven of eight Monroe County Board supervisors who voted in favor of building a $27 million justice center in Sparta have been recalled, officials said Wednesday.

In a recall election held Tuesday, only one incumbent facing recall, Carrol Wallerman, kept his position on the board. Another recall election is scheduled for Nov. 3 for County Board Chairman Dennis Hubbard.

“It was a win for everyone in Monroe County,” said Dennis Clinard, leader of the Taxpayers Relief Committee.

Upset over the center’s projected cost of $40 million including debt service, equipment and additional staffing, the taxpayers group gathered enough signatures to force recalls of nine of the 14 supervisors who voted to replace the courthouse and jail with a building on the outskirts of Sparta next to I-90.
