-MPD’s Pocket) successfully earned his payoff from the Milwaukee police union, by gutting the bill that would actually end the pay for (only) City of Milwaukee police officers that have been fired and charged with a crime. Imagine that! Fired, criminally charged cops should stop being paid, what a radical idea… In John Gard’s world.
President of the Milwaukee Police Association, John Balcerzak hasn’t screwed Milwaukee citizens and had this much press since he handed the naked 14 year old Konerak Sinthasomphone back to Jeffery Dahmer.

Over the objections of Milwaukee’s mayor, the state Assembly late Thursday passed a measure to require fired Milwaukee police officers charged with felonies to repay the city for any salary they receive during their appeals if they ultimately leave the police force.Bill sponsor Rep. Barbara Toles (D-Milwaukee), Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and others objected to the version that passed because they said it didn’t accomplish the original goal of protecting taxpayer dollars by cutting off salaries to officers charged with crimes while they appeal their dismissals.
Barrett called the bill a “fig leaf” that would have no practical effect because pay for such officers would continue. And, he said, even if they are directed to repay salaries, it would be difficult for the city to recoup any of those funds.
“Police officers that have been fired and charged with crimes remain on the payroll,” Barrett said. “I want to put our scarce resources into the salaries of police officers who are fighting crime on the streets, not those who have been fired and charged with a crime.”

I am truly baffled as to how people get paid after being fired. Generally speaking, when you get fired, they stop paying you. I thought that was a given. If anyone knows of a job that I can continue to get pay after I get myself fired, let me know, will ya?

Only City of Milwaukee cops get this perk, and the Assembly Speaker, John Gard will fight o the death to keep your pay flowing, even after you go to prison.
