I went to the air show at Milwaukee’s lakefront today. Watching planes all day is always a great time, but I didn’t get there early enough to get a decent spot, I parked at the North Point Snack Bar, so I was pretty far from the real action at Veterans Park. I was to far away for my still camera to be of much good, but I had the cam-corder with a 200x zoom, but at those distances, it is probably pretty shaky. I haven’t checked it yet, but I will and if there is anything worth watching, I’ll post it here. I will leave you with the only decent shot I got off the still camera.

Where were you? I finally ran into the Asian one about 2:30 over at the east beer tent.

I was at North Point, way up where North Ave would cross Lake Drive if it came through. I walked a little south of there and camped out and got a REALLY nasty sunburn
It doesn’t surprise me that one of Badgersphere’s pilots would be there
I thought about calling Aaron to see if he was down there, since he made a few posts about it.
By the way, some of the video is usable, even from that distance, so check back later today or maybe tomorrow to see the video. I have a lot of splicing and dicing to do to keep the good parts, but I have made a start.

I Love airshows too… Unfortunately I don’t get to go to any all that often. However, I found a video that is pretty cool and the pilot survived the crash with only minor injuries… It’s pretty amazing…

Sunburn sounds familiar; the backs of my calves are roasted.

[...] If you missed it, Fred has some stock video of the Thunderbirds, and Patrick has at least 1 shot and possibly some video from today’s performance. Of course, I never did run into either of them, though I did run into The Asian Badger. [...]
