I know you will read this “Commander”, your vile hate-filled rant today was disgusting. it showed what a mean cruel person you really are.
I don’t have time to go into specifics at this time, but McGee Sr. really crossed the line today. I will NOT post this audio for those of you that missed it, but it was a horrible, cruel thing to say. I know you think that I and every white person in the world hates you, but I don’t, I feel sorry for you, it must be a miserable existence to live with so much hate in your heart.

Since I have posted this and sent the raw audio to a few people, it has gotten out there in the news, so I have decided to post a few clips of the audio. Since I made the original post, I have received about a half dozen calls and emails from the media, so since it is going to be publicized anyway, here it is, although I still have very mixed feelings about posting it.

Patrick, I think it should be posted. I just listened, and it’s horrible, but surely in the context of another McGee rant people will see it for what it is.
I’ll hold off posting it for now, but really this needs to be aired if for no other reason than to start putting pressure on the station airing this garbage.

Well, whatever was done or said, at least we won’t have to worry about reading one word about it in the J/S. Tim Cuprisin is too obsessed with Idol to devote any attention to The Commander.
Wait, on second thought, maybe we will see it mentioned. Whatever was said, perhaps Eugene Kane will help us to understand what a bunch of idiots we all are for being outraged by it.

I just listened to it and it is totally sickening. I heard it first on Belling’s show. I can truly say that is the most disgusting thing that I’ve ever heard on radio. Not to excuse the “commander”, but does he always sound drunk? This is the first time that I’ve bothered to listen to his crap.

What I would have recommended, Patrick, is posting the phone numbers of their advertisers because that was the best part of that audio and I don’t know about you, but I will be calling each and every one of them to let them know my disgust at their affiliation with that pig.

By the way, for those of you wondering, one of the voices in the background is his son, “The Alderman” Michael McGee/Jackson Jr.
I think Cantankerous’ idea of calling sponsors is a good idea, although in this case, I don’t know if it will have much of an effect, they know what McGee was all about before they signed up.

Imus was fired because he lost his advertisers. If you want to make a difference, I’d suggest starting there and calling.
Midtown Auto is going to be the biggest advertiser, I’d guess. So, that’s where I’m starting.

McGee is like those hateful Fred Phelps people who protest at soldiers’ funerals. People look at them and pity them because they don’t have the sense God gave a rock.
I would hope that if the Sykes family has the misfortune of hearing (of) this ridiculous spewing of hate from McGee, they would know that there are truly thousands of people who wish them the best and are sympathetic to their loss.
Every time McGee opens his mouth, he shows what happens when hate is combined with idiocy. Counter bad speech with good speech.

Pete, So, the FCC did not get involved with Imus? He was just fired b/c of no more sponsors? That is a shame. I have called the 3 numbers, but I am so disheartened by the thought that probably nothing will be done b/c they probably support McGee no matter what.
I have seen the news on all channels at 5 and 6 and not one mention of this. Has anybody emailed the news stations? Don’t know how much good it will do though, as they are liberal outlets anyways.
I listen to Sykes, and mostly Belling. i am so glad Belling brought this up, b/c otherwise most people may never know about it.

This is one of the most ignorant and cruel statements I have ever heard. He gives the impression that he is a godly man by using God’s name and praying. However God is a god of love and senior McGee as well as his son, junior are racist and full of hate. There’s no excuse for such behavior. Despite what he may say or how he come off, this is not what is taught most black families and certainly not mine. This really makes me sick. THE MCGEES DOES NOT SPEAK FOR ALL BLACK FAMILIES. And those that call in and agree with him are just as ignorant as he is. Mcgee should go and actually study the Scriptures that he is attempting to use and stop using God’s name vain.

I just called Homer Blow, the program manager of WNOV XXXXX. He told me that he will not answer any questions about this unless it is during business hours :rolleyes: I asked him then why is his phone number posted on his website. He would not answer any questions. I asked him very politely about what is going to be done about McGee’s comments regarding Syke’s and his mother. he would not answer. Keep calling!! Call tomorrow during business hours-he said he would be more than happy to answer any questions then (ya, we’ll see)
Why am I so upset about this whole situation? It is just so sickening about what one person can say about another and their mother that passes away that is inhumane, on air no less. so sad
What else can be done? We need to get the dumb McGee’s off the air for good!!!

I am horrified. Even out Jr. and Sr., I did not expect this.
Remember the comment at the Blog Summit about democrats use the internet to become activists and Republicans do not.
Well- the time has come to change that. It is time for conservatives to become active.
Call the advertisers. Keep calling the advertisers and let them know you will never bring your business to their establishment until McGee is off the air. Also demand a written apology from the advertisers directly to the Sykes family. Because of these advertisers, McGee stays on the air.
Write the FCC over and over again.
Write all of the local chapters of the NAACP demanding they denounce McGee’s comments.
Call TMJ4 and let them know what is going on.
Call and write each and every single alderman in Milwaukee and demand that they get McGee under control. Let them know what a bad reflection this is on all Milwaukee alderman.
Call the radio station and demand an apology and that McGee be suspended. Also let them know you are calling all of their advertisers to encourage them to stop advertising.
Yes- we all have freedom of speech. However we are all responsible for what we say.
There is very little any of us can do to ease the Sykes family’s pain.
What we can do is hold the radio station and the McGee’s responsible for their words. We MUST hold them responsible.

I don’t remember where I posted this earlier this evening, but radio stations exist to serve the public interest. One thing you can do is write to the station expressing your feelings about what McGee has said. All correspondence is required (by federal law) to be kept in the station’s public file, and maintenance of the public file is one thing the FCC will look at when the license comes up for renewal. The public file is also available for public inspection during normal business hours. So, keep writing the FCC, write to the radio station, and make your voice heard. They are not serving the public interest, and it’s time we call them out on it.

Jerrel Jones (WNOV Owner) OWNS Midtown Auto. He is a Nixon Republican who lives in Glendale AND has backed the Commander from way back. You will get NOWHERE with advertisers.
Jones’ organization (URBAN MARKETING GROUP) is a vote-pandering, advertorial multimedia machine that takes money from Doyle, Barrett, and County Republicans. They ran out Pratt & Walker fliers (teamed together). They work for $$$$.
Nothing illegal has been done by the McGee in his statements. On a very thin messy thread, Sykes could maybe sue for slander/defamation. Beyond that, if you want to enforce a standard of non-tolerance for the McGee rhetoric, you will have to enforce it mob style yourself.

Really, if you want be effective and play The Man (screwing someone over legally), get $$$$ together and hire lawyers to sue and sue and sue (frivolous or otherwise) until the McGees are totally broke. They buy their airtime from Jones, and he answers to money, so you could also try and buy them out. But you’d have to put something else credible in there.

I suggest everybody vent for a bit and move on. I hate it when libs go on and on about ‘hate speech’ so I don’t all-of-a-sudden support suppressing hate speech because some dumbass like McGee flaps his smelly gums.
Actually, I think it’s a good thing McGee has his trifling lil radio show. Knowing how he and his supporters really think is a good thing. Otherwise, you may be fooled into thinking they deserve respect, courtesy, sponsorships and apologies from guilt-ridden white people. This jackass doesn’t deserve the attention of turning this into a scandal.
More people, like Don Imus, need to wake up and quit pandering to the McGees, Sharptons and Jacksons of the world. I have no sympathy for Imus. He should have told Sharpton to pound sand. Instead, he seduced the snake then was surprised when it bit him.

The McGees are the fiddlers calling the tune that all the suckers dance to. Posting today’s audio (and then acting like your “reservations” mean anything) was downright dumb. If Sykes has brains and class unclouded by emotion, the long term result will be pushing back all you lot in the online peanut gallery. You’ve become trolls and flamers in a public sphere that can’t handle much more of that.
I’m not going to stand out and “protest” the McGees in the McGees own style. Such silly loud crap does nothing. Even when it appears to succeed at doing something, real political goals and cultural clout is never secured by whining for it. You make it or take it. If it’s given to you, it’s nothing. You know this.
If I have a practical business interest or political goal in Jr’s district, their WNOV show will never be relevant to it.
McGee Sr. is a mental midget of no account. Except you bozos and fake “conservative” radio are making him a power. You got Jr. through the recall. Good job.
I can also see that we’ll be looking at a Glenn F. run for police chief where he has no chance of winning and is 100% guaranteed to be dubbed the white supremacist candidate immediately due to communications and context documented on this blog. You have no control of a message. “Get McGee” rather than “get crime” or “fix Milwaukee” has taken over, and “get crime” or “fix Milwaukee” from you people will now, more than ever, be interpreted as “Get McGee”/”we’re so angry at a few crazed black men, we can’t see anything else.”
The only real political issue here (one of relatively minor consequence) is the problem of Jr. constantly sitting in on and speaking with dear old dad. This damages the City in many ways, damages the Common Council, and keeps Jr. an ineffective dead weight in a job that could really do some good where it is badly needed. (On the other hand, if he were competent and professional and only half as nuts, he’d be WAY more damaging.)
My recommendation is, stop making majors out of minors and pick battles you can win. Maybe focus on your own neighborhoods and politicians. The City and McGeeville can do fine without you. Better in fact.
As always, money, brains, and guts gets things done. Are the McGees so all powerful and so deeply deranged they are bringing in crime and driving out business, law-abiding residents, etc.? No. They lack the awareness, smarts, principle, and guts to be a force for any kind of change, leadership or organizing. They are easily manipulated, bought, bypassed, and owned. Not by you, but you aren’t in the game, and you never will be. What you are doing is getting gamed by the McGees.
The more they get to play “sticking it to the Man”–i.e. YOU–because you play your part, the more that can consolidate their part in a stupid, racialized us vs. them drama. You can’t win, because you can’t assert anything where you aren’t on the ground to assert it. Maybe we won’t get past this nonsense until the major political players and vote blocs are Latino. Right now it’s two kinds of stupid white people in charge, barely. Liberal-liberals and conservative-liberals who are both overly concerned about with the sham politics of moral purity and Ned Flanders good feelyness. No–the problem is not the McGees (&c) or “Talk Radio” pushing each others buttons incessantly. It is the lack of anyone saying to hell with all that crap, let’s fix the neighborhood. Pitching rocks at speeding cars on residential streets has at least that virtue of being ideologically disinterested. Fix the problems, aggressively. But aggressive does not go well in the hands of the stupid and posturing weenies.

Dee, I appreciate your worry that the McGee’s and their followers put a negative connotation to being black that is unfair to blacks who’s views run contrary to the McGee’s. It’s a legitimate fear. However, be comforted by the fact that most of us on this site (in particular Pat and myself who work primarily with black people and in black neighborhoods) are quite aware that the McGees probably don’t even speak for a majority of black families.
I also know that the following is not news to you. It is their rhetoric that has racial tensions so unnecessarily high in this city. It is also their presence that is one of the toxins that is destroying black communities in this city.
It is my hope that Sykes sues McGee on appropriate grounds for the vile and unfounded accusation of outright murder.
By the way, I’ll join any protest at WNOV that fits my work schedule including getting up before my usual time midday. (I work 2nd shift, and I doubt there is time for me to get time off for any protest that doesn’t fit my schedule and is soon enough to be relavent.)

With respect to the comments recently made by Mr. McGee on the death of Charlie Sykes’ mother, I find them to be some of the most deplorable and despicable comments I have yet heard on Milwaukee radio. Regardless what opinion I have of Mr. Sykes, anyone who would celebrate the tragic death of someone’s mother with an on-air rant like Mr. McGee did, or throw around false rhetorical accusations about a son killing his mother has no place on the public airwaves.
I understand that Mr. McGee pays for his airtime with either his personal money or donations, and while it is nice to think that everything is for sale for the right price – I believe the price in this case to be the integrity of your station. I would suggest that your station stop enabling Mr. McGee to do so.
To that effect, I intend to spend my free time listening to your station, and while I will enjoy the jams, I will also be noting the advertisers I hear, contacting them, and urging them to cease paying for advertising on any station that would allow or promote such cruel and mean-spirited hatemongering on their airtime. I am also sending this message to a number of my other Milwaukee friends to encourage them to do the same.
In a day and age when we should attempt to work towards coming together as a city, country, and world, I find the comments aired in Mr. McGee’s segment to be divisive and fuel for increasing racial tensions, which, in my opinion is the last thing Milwaukee needs.

A note to those of you that think this is simply McGee using his Free Speech right… You have a right to free speech, until you infringe on another persons rights. At least one respected attorney believes that McGee may be guilty of Defamation. Rick Esenberg said:

Some great comments here.
Problem is the F.C.C. will do nothing. I have filed a complaint in the past and got the brush off as well as someone else who posted.
Imus yes, was fired because advertisers pulled out. Sharpton and Jackson greased the wheels on this, but it was the advertisers who ultimately pulled his plug. Bad for CBS because Imus was the highest billing show in the nation, and CBS is now being sued by Imus for the remainder of the money owed to him under his contract.
Different scenerio here in Milwaukee. Since McGee pays for time, Jones is not going to kill a “Golden Goose” of his. yes, he will pull him off the air for a day or two until this blows over, but as long as the money comes in, he will be on the air.
Protesting at the station isn’t the answer either. Taking ones life into their own hands in that neighborhood isn’t a really bright idea. And the only thing it will bring is more publicity for WNOV, something they just can’t buy. It’s like an episode out of “WKRP in Cincinnati” when they “protested” the format change of the station. This could be exactly what Jones wants, since it’s Arbitron ratings time.
A couple of things that could be done. First Charlie Sykes could sue them (Jones and McGee) into bankruptcy. That’s not likely, since Charley has more class in one finger than McGee, McJr, and Jones have between all three of them.
Another is yes, keep writing to the F.C.C. and complain. If they get enough complaints, they MAY do something.
On that same note, check the F.C.C.’s website and find out when WNOV’s license renewal comes up. That information is a pain in the touchas to get to, but it’s there. WNOV has to run a spot stating that the license is up for renewal to solicit comments, but that would be time consuming trying to listen for that. Save each and every piece of ammo you have, every comment, audio file, everything. When it is up for renewal, deluge the F.C.C. with complaints AT THAT TIME stating that they are not operating in the public interest and CHALLANGE the license. That might make Jones “crap or get off the pot” regarding McGee, since his money machine would stop printing. Hell, if McGee or one of his cronies can get the F.C.C. to have a forum to promote, or ask questions about low power FM, citizens can get them to finally do something about McGee and WNOV.

I really think protesting the radio station is a bad idea.
Can you imagine what would be said if a bunch of angry white people surrounded a black radio station?
It does not matter if the protest is justified.
I would much rather have a rally to show Charlie Sykes our love and support.
What we need a calm approach to this. Keep making phone calls. Keep sending emails. And as already has been suggested- contact the FCC.
We need to take the high ground on this. We cannot let our anger bring us down to McGee’s level.

I would like to challenge all of you to listen not just to the few minutes of tirade about his competitor’s dead mother, but force yourselves (painful though it may be) to listen to the full content of the audio contained herein and what this guy is willing to spout off about.
This is what we have been dealing with in Milwaukee for darn near 30 years. Race relations in Milwaukee will never improve, try as good folks will, as long as ignorant fools are annointed leaders of the central city. Listening to Mike McGee Sr. is like listening to a hybrid mutation of Archie Bunker and John Belushi’s “Bluto” character in Animal House. He is just an ignorant man who, with his warchest of our social spending dollars (OIC, SDC) is able to “buy his airtime” to say anything he wants with no accountability whatsoever. And his traitor son, elbowing up with foreign dictators, winning his recall election by a mandate. This city should be ashamed of itself.
I am beginning to think that all these defenders of the McGees who circulate the blogoshpere making postings like: “don’t you white suburbanites worry, Milwaukee and the 6th district will get along just fine without you” are right. You’re getting exactly what you want. Crime, corrupt leadership, lousy schools, drug houses… The problem never gets any better, but you just keep whining about “how bad things are” and how its always somebody else’s fault. And invoking the name of your god to take joy in another family’s suffering on your crummy little radio station. Oh, please.
Milwaukee was built by some of the hardest working folks who ever walked the face of the earth, White and Black, German and Jew… Whose legacy is being shamed by what a joke this city has become. Milwaukee used to be a world leader in manufacturing, the “machine shop of the world”, people would come from all over the world because we could produce things here with greater speed and quality than anywhere else… What does Milwaukee lead the world in now? All the rest of the world comes to us for now is their comic relief.

Peter, please be realistic. Direct pressure has never had an efect on the McGees and only empowers them within their community. Indirect pressure is what is called for. Has anyone compiled a list of WNOV’s advertisers? How about the Community Journal’s advertisers? Who is the source behind purchasing the air time for McGee? Does anyone have the fax numbers for WNOV or the Community Journal? Has anyone contacted Mikel Holt yet to see him excuse this behavior?

What has the MSM and fellow Milwaukee leaders, black or white, done to convince them otherwise? Only person who’s ever got either one of them held accountable on record for anything is Leon Todd.
About a year and a half ago, maybe longer, I can’t quite remember… While listening to WNOV one morning I heard McGee Sr. tell a caller to firebomb a well-known used car dealership because (the caller claimed) they hadn’t treated him right. I am sure this is archived in audio somewhere…
It’s not “out of context”, it’s what he told the caller to do and then he and his Barney Rubble-like sidekick chuckled about it afterward…
I e-mailed Tim Cuprisin, I filed a complaint with the FCC.. Clearly, threatening harm on someone’s property must be actionable, right? Wrong. FCC wouldn’t even acknowledge my e-mail, and all Cuprisin did is e-mail me back a link to the FCC website, telling me that I must have been “fired up” by something Charlie Sykes or Mark Belling said on the radio.
Firebombing? Threats? Been happening with these guys for years. Nobody paid attention. Get away with murder? Leon Todd might argue that they almost did.
And then you wonder why no one is willing to publicly question these “gods of the central city”? Open your darn eyes. People are scared to death of them.
Sue them? Have your day in court? How many different SSN’s, driver’s licenses, aliases and bank accounts do you think these thieves of taxpayer money have? Charlie, you might get a judgment but you’ll never see a dime.
Say a prayer for the departed, and thank your lucky stars you don’t have as much hate in your hearts as that waste of oxygen we know around here as McSr. It’s all you can do.

The McGees have always received a ton of money from “anti-poverty” agencies who continue to fund this show. Jerrell Jones and Mike McGee have been buddies for years and years. Mike Mcgee’s wives were both employed at OIC who funded Word Warriers for years with your tax dollars. McGee is a low life and should not be considered the “leader” of the Black Community. There are some true leaders like Rep. Grigsby and Rep. Fields who are serving their voters with passion and dignity. How can anyone think this sort of talk is acceptable? I cannot understand how anyone who truly cares about people could say something as disgusting and low as what he did. Sykes may lambast Mcgee, but when he does so, he does so based on facts. Mcgee not only mocked Sykes for the loss of a loved one, he accused the man of orchestrating it. If someone were to have done that to me on the air, I’d be calling lawyers.
Sykes is unlikely to do so, since unlike Mcgee, he has some class. But I fully support swamping the advertisers of WNOC with complain calls till they find it not worth their time or money to stay on that station. The time of tolerating Mcgee’s vitriolic hate speech must come to an end.

They let one of their callers drop the F-bomb on the air today. You’ll all probably get farther with the FCC on this matter than any other.
Patrick, it was a female caller and it was sometime after 8:30, if memory serves me right.
I believe she said “F-in honkeys” and that’s when Jr. dumped the call and commented, “She was doin’ alright ’till she start cussin’.”
The FCC doesn’t care who said it; it’s the station’s responsibility to monitor what goes over the air, and they are responsible for dumping callers that cuss.
I’d suggest making a follow up complaint to the FCC with this in hand.

I am wondering who pays for the McGee show? Jones says McGee pays. How is this possible since he has not had a job since he was alderman and OIC is out of business? I also wondered how he could afford that nice Expedition shown on the news but a friend told me it belonged to McGee’s “driver”. Doesn’t he have a car or license? For a little money he could use Jackson Jr.’s other license. Maybe he has two licenses and two social security numbers. Mad Black Sister does sound like a product of MPS and it is clear how Doyle got elected. Ignorance. That’s how we continue to get McGee Jackson Jr. and Doyle re-elected. Let me ask a question of those who frequent this blog.
Where is the black outrage at this hate? You lib posters getting the picture yet?? Nah, the denial is too deep. The pandering will go on. Very very very few blacks are outraged at this. Is anyone surprised? It’s not their color folks, it’s an urban culture that has been pandered to and patted on the head. The sick freaks that infest and infect our not so fair city, have been paid to stay poor and, we as a society and especially liberals have handed out “entitlements” and given to those who are now addicted to be failures. McGee and his tripe are working ths systme and stirring the pot. We’ve created at least 2 generations of angry, uneducated, father-less failures.

Mickey, here’s a little suggested reading. It helps us all understand the true nature of entitlement and why certain people just keep demanding “more, more, more!” while the whole time whining about, slandering, threatening violence upon and criticizing the very system that underwrites their existence.
This is why taxes are no longer a key issue for voters, because those of us paying the bill for those who pay nothing into the system are already voting for (only slightly) more fiscally responsible politicians.

Milwaukee is not atypical open secret of a graft machine where Whitey’s money via taxes, political and corporate funds, goes into the pocket of black businessmen (who are mostly suburban-based neoconservatives) who orchestrate, control, and speak for “the black community,” switch hitting from day to day. Today it’s the Cos’ act, tomorrow it is Nat X. Today it’s “vote for Scott Walker and Marvin Pratt, best buds.” Tommorrow it’s “Suburban Republican racists are trying to recall McGee!”
You can try to bust them where they do illegal things.
You can try to expose their cynical exploitation of black Milwaukee, which accomplishes little more than keeping them in control of their little fiefdoms, getting paid.
But the unfortunate fact is, black Milwaukee tends to know, accept, and even admire this manner of business. They see independent black men getting paid, making stuff happen, and spreading (some of) the $ around the community. Why bite that hand?

One of McGee Sr’s “sponsers” is his own Mother who runs something called The Prescription Advocacy Referral program.
This scam involves poor/elderly people paying mother Mcgee to help them apply for free drugs from drug companies. This information is available free to anyone and involves filling out a half-page form. For this Mother Mcgee charges $35! The key to this Mcgee Family scam is that a local foundation paid them $100,000 to provide this service!
Mcgees are no friend of the poor.
