I just wanted to post this as a follow up to yesterdays post that has garnered national attention:
Michael McGee Sr. is a vile horrible person
“Commander McGee” as he likes to be called, has crossed a line big time, what he said about the tragic death of the mother of WTMJ radio host Charlie Sykes (Charlie Sucks to McGee) was not only mean and vile, it was probably defamatory.
In the news today, it has to be noted that the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (which owns the station where Charlie Sykes works) has done it’s best to avoid the story. There was a small mention by the TV and Radio Columnist on his blog, but until WNOV owner Jerrel Jones announced later today “McGee Sr. pulled off the air” indefinitely, the paper has been silent.
Fox 6 has a stunning interview with McGee, McGee, Sr. Radio Job at Risk After Rant, in which he defends his comments, repeats them and says that if Charlie Sykes doesn’t like it, he (McGee Sr.) will meet Sykes anywhere and “kick his ass”. McGee also included WISN talk show host Mark Belling in his on-air rant and threatens him too.
The Drudge Report has been linking to WISN TV’s coverage of this story all day, and Michelle Malkin has also picked up the story and this has drawn the attention of several other prominent national bloggers. bringing a national spotlight on this story.
Pete at Peterepublic and Dave at Ask Me Later have been keeping up on much of the coverage from the media and national bloggers.
Just a quick comment on local reaction… Where is the outrage from local leaders? When Mark Belling used a single word against illegal Mexican immigrants, politicians were jumping over each other to condemn that one word, and the Milwaukee County Board officially denounced him and threatened the owners of his radio station. While what Belling did was wrong, and he was suspended for it, it was nothing in comparison to what McGee has done this week (not to mention the numerous other times he has done things that would have gotten most people fired). Robert Miranda, where are you? You claim to fight all hate speech, but it seems that it is only speech that you dislike from Conservatives that you truly hate and try to silence.

On a personal note: It is very sad that all of this is playing out so publicly. Charlie Sykes and his family are dealing with a true tragedy, and I feel terrible that they have to deal with McGee and his hatred. I have felt conflicted about this story from the first time that I mentioned it, perhaps it would have been best if I would have just deleted the audio file, but I, like so many others that have now heard this hate-filled screed, was angry. I wanted to lash out against McGee’s evil venom. But I am sorry that this whole story has added to the suffering that the Sykes family has had to endure.

I am certain you know there are race baiters keeping an eye on your blog. Some are even posting- don’t respond to them.
This issue is not black vs. white. This issue is right vs. wrong.

Want to hear more of McGee Sr.? Listen to his talk about shooting up city hall. This is where we learned the names of his guns too.

Once again all of us in Milwaukee are able to see who our representatives truly represent. And it is not the good people of Milwaukee. Is it any wonder why people are FLEEING Milwaukee by the light rail full and crime is on the rise unchecked. Someone, SOMEONE has to take this city back. Unfortunately…..no one is on the horizon and in a short few months….I too will flee this little Detroit.

Watching the Fox6 interview and listening to the controversial audio, I gained a new perspective on Sr. McGee. It appears to me that he is a simple man full of anger and hate. His heart is cold and his soul is mean. Maybe he wasn’t always that way.
The dire injustices that once plagued this country have slowly changed. We are a long way from 1965 Selma, Alabama. As time marched on, the need for rabble-rousers has faded. Maybe he is so unhappy because he is a relic of times past, when the civil rights movement was for real. Unhappy that when he looks in the mirror, all he sees is a cheap hustler…he can’t find any true racial injustice to fight against so he has to manufacture some controversy in a futile attempt to be relevant in today’s society.

I’m not sure if comment #10 is real or fake. It accurately represents what a large portion of “Black Milwaukee” thinks (any then they wonder why we’ve written them off), but it’s spelled correctly with no sign of street slang. I don’t think many who would put such a comment down and even read or write.
Also notice how the JS finally covers the story, but then waits and buries the story and editorial in Saturday’s (lowest subscription day) paper. No agenda there.

The liberal ivory tower morons who run the paper, look at blacks as though they were cute puppies. I was a Democrat most of my life, once I realized I wasn’t liberal, I recognized these fruit cakes don’t have any respect for blacks. They think blacks NEEEEEEED them and their help.
They treat blacks as if they were retarded and unable to fend for themselves. As Mr. Sykes would say, the SUBTLE RACISM OF LOW (no) EXPECTATIONS.
