I’m glad that Michelle Obama is proud of her country “for the first time in [her] adult lifetime.” So I guess she pretty much thought that America sucked until now, huh? Well, I’m proud of America each and every day of my life. I am proud of the selflessness of our troops, as they fight for freedom of people around the world, I am proud of the technical advancements that our freedom has created. I am proud at our generosity around the world, the billions of dollars we spend every time there is a disaster somewhere. My hears swells when I see a flag blowing freely in the breeze or hear the National Anthem and other songs that make us proud. Seeing the Berlin Wall coming down, the defeat of Communism in Europe, seeing people risk death to come to freedom… How can you not be proud?
What Michelle Obama said, made me sick. I joked about being sickened by voting for Hillary Clinton, but this is no joke, saying that we don’t have anything to be proud of as Americans makes me physically ill.
But don’t question their Patriotism…
We are not a perfect people, we have made our mistakes, but to have the wife of a US Senator say she is not proud to be an American is incredible.
God Bless The United States of America

If you go to Jay Weber’s website later today, and listen to the podcast of today’s 8:00 hour… You will be able to listen to very emotional calls of people telling us what they are proud of, and he could have done this for the rest of the show.. Very emotional radio.
To bad Mrs. Obama couldn’t have anything to be proud of as she lived the American dream as she went to Harvard and Princeton and makes a wonderful living in this land of freedom.

Michelle Obama was speaking from the heart. This was no gaffe as some are trying to spin it. She’s an afro-centrist and a taker. What she really meant by that statement was, “It’s our time”, and she’s not talking about the Democrat Party. I guess Colin Powell and Condoleeza Rice aren’t enough for her to be proud of. She kind of reminds me of something I once heard a black guy say when he addressed a Justice Department group, “All blacks are African American, but not all African Americans are black”. Our response to 9-11 wasn’t enough for her to be proud of. Our men and women who volunteer for service in our military and stand between us and people who want to kill us aren’t enough for her to be proud of. I’d like to know what Michelle Obama has ever contributed to America? I’d also like to hear the response to her statement from real black Americans such as Ward Connerly, Shelby Steele, and Thomas Sowell.

Bingo Glenn Bingo. I read numerous blogs where libs where trying to spin her words.
The first attempt was that she was supposed to have said REALLY PROUD as opposed to PROUD. She said no such thing.
She said what she meant and she meant what she said. Her words and opinions dove-tail with the AMERICA SUCKS VOTE FOR ME FOR HOPE message her husband is shilling out. This woman of middle class background was given the privelege in America of going to Princeton, Harvard and now is VP of the University of Chicago. If AMERICA SUCKS and is she has heretofore not been proud of America, has does she explain her multi-million dollar home, portfolio, and her oppurtunities.
Here is the RUB. People like the Obama’s believe the horse-shit that they spew. They actually believe the AMERICA that gave them EVERYTHING…..SUCKS. They believe that they are due more.

Seriously, Michelle Obama is an extremely accomplished and educated woman. She is beautiful and well spoken, and she’s a liberal nut.
But the fact is liberals actually believe that America sucks. They believe that everyone is racist except them. They believe killing your baby is a CHOICE, they believe that affirmative action is racist, they believe that France hates us and that we should care. They believe that talking to terrorists keeps us safe. They believe taht dinosaurs driving SUV’s caused the American glaciers to melt due to global warming. They believe that Hillary Clinton EARNED the $5,000,000.00 that she gave to her campaign, but you need to be taxed higher. They believe that in America a black man and woman CANNOT MAKE IT, because the MAN is holding them down.

I think Obama is a plant. I just can’t pin down who planted him but I’m glad he’s here. Because I want to see the dems go neck and neck through the primaries. So Hillary has to pull out the Michigan and Florida delegates. Something she’s on record for saying should not be done prior to her actually needing them.
I see Hillary as a larger threat to the USA than Obama because she is a known quantity. Can you see Sandy Burger back in the white house?
Think about it. The Clinton’s still hang with a guy that stole and destroyed classified documents just before Bill was to testify about his knowledge of the second WTC attack, in the 9/11 commission hearings.

Just like Kerry(it was not a joke) she said what was in her heart and meant it. They will spin this into something like she was only talking about politics. When Bill got away with what is the definition of “is” that was the beginning of this crap I for one believe everything they say she is not proud of being a American and when Obama loses the primary or the big show we will be hit with ….that all of America is rascist. Mark Belling just asked a good question, since this story happened here in Milwaukee, Barack addressed it, Cindy McCain answered in Waukesha and in John McCain’s victory speech, he also referenced Michelle Obama’s quote and it has been national news for days, and still not a single word about it has appeared in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel… Maybe they think that Mrs. Obama’s comments are common.

Patrick, Michelle Obama’s words are not defensible. I’ve seen numerous people try to spin her words or to “misremember” what she said. It’s d.o.a.. She said what she meant and meant what she said. The seedy underbelly of liberalism is rearing it’s ugly head. (mixed metaphor).
Many lefties believe as she does. Remember all the leftoids that were moving to Canada if Bush got elected. America wasn’t worth living in if their peeps couldn’t be the boss. Well Mrs. Obama is merely saying what she believes. If you’re constantly told the MAN is keeping you down and that the deck is stacked against you and your peeps, and that the sky is falling……..
Meanwhile she and her hubbie have made it to the top of the heap and earned over $2,500,000.00 LAST YEAR!!! And they are the messenger of GOVERNMENT HOPE???

I wouldn’t waste my time in their sewers Patrick. They’re all still shell shocked at Michelle Obama’s stupidity. Hell, even some of the local blog and talk radio conservatives are still calling it a “gaffe” (definition: “social blunder”) and can’t bring themselves to call it what it was – an expression right from the heart.

First both women involved are named Michelle.
Second the black one has the last name of Obama.

Glenn, when I was discussing (disgusting) the Michelle Obination last night, my 7 year old asked me why she wasn’t proud of America. I asked him why he WAS proud of America. “He said, because we have a lot of very good people, we take care of each other and because most people love Jesus”
I asked him if he thought his cousin Richard loved America. He said “Of course he loves America, he’s in Iraq fighting the bad guys….again.”. I just looked at my wife and smiled.

Patrick @ 15- No one is making fun of patriotism. Actual patriotism, that is. Patriotism is not however a magnetic decal on the back of your car, demanding an amendment against burning the flag (which has always been the preferred method of disposing of worn or damaged flags), or blindly following whichever administration happens to occupy the White House at the time. Patriotism (to me anyway) is loving your country enough to participate in keeping its’ values and constitution even if it means you may have to fight to do so. That doesn’t just mean going to war, that means participating in our republic on an ongoing basis. Freedom isn’t free.

I’ve been proud of my country every mother f’ing day of my life. Even when Bill Clinton was shooting presidue on a 23 year old interns blue dress. Even when Nixon was committing felonies and especially when our TROOPS are eradicating Al Qaeda. I’ll be proud of my country even if Barack Obama and his millionaire VICTIM wife win the White House. I’m proud of America despite baby killing being legal, and I’m even proud when snot nosed libs lie through their teeth and seek communism.
Michelle Obama ran her UNGRATEFUL PIE HOLE and she’s being called on it.

No that’s not what I said. Don’t put words into my mouth please. However during the rush to amend our constitution a while back, there were those who completely disregarded all common sense when proposing how such an amendment would read. I have retired several flags honorably, but without all of the pomp and circumstance of your “ceremony”. That was never in my Boy Scout Handbook, even though the page you link to (riddled with typos like the “This field of flue is put onto the fire first.”) seems to be some kind of Scouting material. Although that way (“flue”) it does have nice alliteration. It’s kind of like when someone adds “under God” to the Pledge of Allegiance, or adds a bunch of scatting or woo woos while “singing” the Star Spangled Banner. It doesn’t belong there, and it’s disrespectful.

While listening to Jay Weber’s show this morning I just heard Ken Herrera reading the news and a soundbite by Barack Obama in which Obama says that Michelle didn’t really mean she wasn’t proud of America. Obama then went on to say how what she meant was that she wasn’t proud of the political process until now, or some variation of that.
I find it very interesting that Barack Obama has to speak for this highly educated woman and explain what SHE meant rather than hear what she meant from her own lips. I wonder how the women libs will view this man telling America what his wife meant.

If we train our citizens that they are victims, they are mistreated, that they are not fully American, that they were slaves, that they NEED governments help in achieiving. If we pat minorities on the head and tell them “there there, you were wronged”, how are we surprised when people like Michelle Obama don’t feel PROUD of their country. The irony is that Michelle Obama is an example of exactly why we should ALL be proud of America. She and her husband are PROOF, that America is the land of oppurtunity if you go to school and achieve. Regardless of color.
In Russia or Cuba, Michelle Obama would be home, barefoot, pregnant, and her husband would be picking tobacco leaves. Their is no Princeton in Cuba, nor are “deals” from Tony Rezko readily available to rookie politicians.

Michelle Obama feels “frustration and disappointment� Is that disappointment because she would have prefered Yale Law School to Harvard? Perhaps her frustration comes from having to settle for a job at the silk purse law firm of Sidley Austin (US 6th largest ) rather than the esteemed Kirkland & Ellis firm (US 4th largest)? Does her lack of pride stem from the fact that the daughter of working class blue-collar parents could only afford to attend Princeton rather than Wellesley College ? Her father was a city pump operator and her mother worked for Spiegel’s Catalog as a secretary, yet they had two children who both attended Ivy league colleges…..sadly, this system is just not working for Michelle. I can see why she wants change.

The $1,650,000.00 house and Rezko yard next door are below her status as a “victim” of American oppression.
The $2,700,000.00 that she and B.H.Obama earned in America last year isn’t satisfying her inner self.
What we need is her in the White House along side her husband.
She cares about the little people.
