The J/S has finally decided that the fact that Mike McGee, Jr. has continued to be paid a monthly car allowance while sitting in jail — as reported here at Badger Blogger last August — is newsworthy. Apparently, now that this data is not relevant to any particular judgment or election, it’s worthy of mention. No mention, however, of McGee adding an “additional dependent” to his city health insurance in January of 2007, as reported here at Badger Blogger.

Also, confirming the suspicions of many Milwaukeeans, the J/S sought driving records to prove that, at the time of McGee’s arrest last May, McGee was not even eligible to hold a driver’s license.

What’s particularly funny about that is this: When I wrote that piece last August, I had several witnesses willing to go on record stating that they had seen McGee driving to various neighborhood and community events in the days leading up to his arrest. Go figure.

Even after losing his elected office, due to his years of feeding at Milwaukee’s trough, McGee becomes eligible for a city pension in 2029 to the tune of around $8,000.00 p/year.

The sad part of all of this is that when McGee’s employment with the city ends next Monday, there will be another fatherless child on the streets of Milwaukee with no health insurance. That’s not your fault, that’s not my fault, and that’s not the government’s fault.

That’s Michael I. McGee, Jr’s fault.

UPDATE: Yes, that was our Bruce

I think the Journal Sentinel is sniffing around for another Pulitzer with this “Breaking” news story. Their reporters might do well to read this blog for their story ideas. Bruce and Patrick are often way ahead of the msm. Just more evidence of the power of the blogosphere.

What’s wrong with you? Fatherless child? Because her dad is behind bars makes a child fatherless? No health insurance? Ummm maybe the mom works and will put the baby on her health insurance now? Car allowance? The feds never returned the car(chevy blazer)they still have it.

Another fatherless child on the streets of milwaukee? what exactly does that mean? homeless,no family,no support system you know a lot about this child’s life don’t you.

Yeah the 8,000 a year is gonna break the good tax paying people of the city of milwaukee! Wow. CRAZY

Oh, please can I have the first crack at what blkmil said.
Yes, when a father is in prison or jail, and they have a child, the child is fatherless. How can the father raise a child behind bars? How can they comfort a child when they are sad? How can they help with homework? How can they give advice to the child as they go one their first date?
And yes, blkmil, if $8000 is so small, why don’t yopu give it to McGee, the thug. Your attitude about the money is why the Milwaukee inner city is in such a horrible state.

I’m curious about Patrick’s math – another fatherless child on the streets? Alderthug had 3 kids on taxpayer insurance, not just one. So is that 3 fatherless kids on the street? Or just the one whose paternity is certain? How you figuring this one Patrick?

  6. Bruce Says:

Actually, BHB, it’s my math. Bruce here.

LaSonia McGee has a gravy gig with a local child care provider. She has her own health insurance. She and the three children she shares with “The Gatekeeper” will presumably be covered by an alternate plan.

It’s the child of another mother that I refer to in my posting…

  7. big_hairy_bubba Says:

I knew you were talking about the Mother Rucker. I wasn’t aware that Lasonia McGee had a gig at all. She doesn’t make the news, and I’ve probably made assumptions about her based on her continued marriage to the Alderthug. It’s good to know the welfare rolls won’t be swelling quite as much as I had anticipated.

Do you ever wonder how the people that actually process those checks, sign those checks AND make the budgets those checks take from look at themselves in a mirror each day?

Really, WHO works at City Hall? Pencil pushers?

What happened to the day when people thought out of the box, had morals, had integrity and new what repsonsiblity actually meant?
