WKOW-TV’s Tony Galli in Madison is reporting this afternoon that the first person who has heard an actual recording of Brittany Zimmermann’s mishandled call to 911 on the day she died, and is willing to publicly comment on the contents of that call, has gone on record describing what she heard.
Laurie Lane, a Union Steward for AFCSCME local 720, describes what she heard when listening to a recording of the call as “sounds of movement”. From WKOW’s website:
“Lane estimated the call’s length at about one minute, thirty seconds. Lane said the dispatcher asked the caller three times, “What’s the address of your emergency?” and did not get a response.
Lane is the first person who has heard a recording of the call to comment on it publicly. Authorities have refused to release a recording of the call or its contents.”
BadgerBlogger has late this afternoon obtained copies of interoffice e-mails surrounding the supposed “orders” not to release information to the news media given to officials at the 911 call center by a captain in the Madison Police Department. This is a developing story. Please check back to BadgerBlogger later this evening for new information concerning Madison’s string of unsolved homicides.

A Madison police captain asking the 911 center not to disclose any information regarding the Zimmerman call contradicts what Noble Wray fed the media at his news conference last week.
Some believe the Madison PD is unwilling to release information because it will point to ineptitude on the part of their detectives.

Doesn’t anybody else think it is strange that union steward would be talking about what was on the tape? It almost seems like this union steward is trying to torpedo someone or something. Is she trying to torpedo the cops or the dispatcher. This can’t help the investigation at all. Presumably this union steward is a Dane County employee and I think they should be fired over this.
