Barack Obama has selected to be his running mate, a man that only a few months ago called Obama “not ready to be president…” But at least he thinks he is articulate bright and clean (where does that leave Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson?).
I’m sure Biden will bring the 7-11 and Dunkin’ Doughnuts owning Indian vote…
Biden is a known plagiarist but, if they can hold him to one word answers, I think he will be fine.
Thank you Barack, the man that has been called a “one man gaffe machine” is just what you needed…

The AP is running a story titled, “Biden pick draws Democratic praise, GOP criticism,” but that just isn’t true… I haven’t seen anyone on our side criticize the pick, so far we are all so giddy to have such a target rich environment that we are thanking BHO.

This is a Dream Ticket – for the Republicans that is. Anyone think Bill and Hillary aren’t going to try to hijack the nomination and/or there are a number of Democrats out there wondering what the hell is happening? Thank you George Soros and lunatic left. Now if only McCain doesn’t try to upstage the lunacy of this choice with his own choice for V.P.

I was just watching Fox News and Democrat strategist Bob Beckel was responding to the issue of Joe Biden “talking off script”. Beckel acknowledged that but said, “I can guarantee you this. Barack Obama will talk with Joe Biden and remind him that he’s the second name on the ticket, and Biden will go along with that promising not to say anything that will cause a problem.” Yeah, right! After years of talking out of his anus, Biden is going to suddenly heel to a junior Senator. Methinks Beckel has watched one too many Disney movies. Note to Beckel: The Grizzy bear will actually eat you if you try to hug it.

You think the Republicans are going to be in a “target rich environment?” (As lame a saying as I’ve ever heard.) You just wait until Joe Biden is unleashed on John McCain. Poor (not financially, obviously) OLD John “I lived in a tiger cage of seven years” McCain won’t know what hit him.
Fact is, it doesn’t matter who Obama would have chosen, he’s going to get elected president. The very first time Obama and McCain debate on t.v., it’s going to be Kennedy/Nixon all over again. McCain has been set up as a goat for George Bush. He’s gonna “take one for the team,” as it were. My advice to Republicans? Get ready for the biggest social and political backlash in modern history.

So far, the big keynote speaker at the RNC is Joe Lieberman. A man who 8 years ago ran against George W. as a DEMOCRAT!! Doesn’t say much for the party inviting the speaker or the speaker who will be representing the party.

Picking Joe “The Mouth” Biden is a lousy decision, and I had even forgotten about Biden’s “clean black man” comment. Obama and Biden have some big policy differences that McCain will exploit. Obama didn’t want a yes man but he ended up with a no man.

That seems to make this portion of your post false.
“Furthermore, the fact that his wife sold her lot for more than she paid for it contradicts any suggestion that the Rezkos overpaid for their part of the deal as a way of getting the seller to lower the price to the Obamas for their part.” This statement makes your source look silly if it isn’t outright lying.
The Rezco’s paid $625,000 for a lot that appraised for $40,000 and later sell at a $521,000 loss to a guy they just happen to raise cash for? Really, you can’t be serious.

You have your facts wrong. Rita Rezko sold about 1/6 of the lot to the Obamas for about 1/6 of what Rita Rezko paid for it. She later sold the rest of the lot to someone else for almost as much as she paid for the whole thing. Yes, Tony Rezko was under investigation at the time of the purchase (and Obama says he regrets being involved in the transaction with the Rezkos, calling it “boneheaded,” but no one has shown that the Obamas did anything illegal or even shady. They placed the highest bid on the house, they paid what they thought was a fair price for the lot (1/6 of the price for 1/6 of the land), and they got a market-rate mortgage. Where’s the crime? Where’s the scandal?

As for your comment about Lieberman at the RNC…what it does say is that the GOP will embrace those with whom they can find common ground, or “reach across the aisle” as the saying goes. Principles found in the Obama rhetoric without any substance to back it up.
Besides, your party cast Lieberman aside for daring to stand up for what he believed…so you and all your buddies have forfeited any right to whine sour grapes over his appearance at the RNC. What THAT says about the Donkey Party is that party unity is king, free will and principle takes a back seat.
As for the Jay vs. Folkbum vs. Peter dust-up here…Jay, I think you’re misreading the story you yourself cited. The Obamas bought 1/6th of the Rezko plot, and apparently paid Rezko 1/6th of what Rezko paid for the whole thing. How is that a gift of $521,000? I don’t deny Rezko is as slimy as they come, and I’m sure he’ll quickly learn new ways to hustle when he becomes a guest of the Fed…but misquoting the facts isn’t helping your cause. There is no shortage of things on which to criticize Obama, without stooping to low-brow, cheap “gotcha” games that are no better that the “how many houses do you own” lame-ass crap.

Folkbum, it appears that I was incorrect on thinking that the whole lot was later resold to the Obama’s. The rest of the lot was sold to another business associate of Rezko. Could still be fishy but I admit that it would be harder to prove that anything is wrong.
