Price to get through the door = $28,500.00

Number of Hollywood’s “heavy hitters” (including Barbra Streisand, Jodie Foster, Will Farrell, Leonardo DiCaprio, Steven Spielberg, David Geffen and Jeffrey Katzenberg) in attendance = 300

Total money raised for Obama and the DNC at last night’s event = $10,550,000.00

The opportunity to spend a few hours in a room where no one was ugly, poor, wrinkled, or foul-smelling?

Priceless.

Not too shabby for a community organizer from the south side of Chicago, eh?

Hope and Change, folks. Hope and Change.

    Whatever. Barbara Streisand is ugly.

  2. John Smith Says:

Do they even know who this guy is? Are they sure who they think he is?

Their political correctness and denial may be dangerous. One should inform themselves as to the consequence of their choices before clapping for someone who idealizes radical islamist Malcolm X in which their christian churches agenda was based on.

Please take a peek at the following video:

    This is not looking good.

  3. HeatherRadish Says:

Was Bill “Kill All the Rich People” Ayers there? Target-rich environment…

  4. Mr. Pelican Pants Says:

It was funny to read his remarks about fighting for people who are concerned about the rising cost of health care, losing their pensions, or sending their children to college. He also said he was fighting for people who would never have the chance to be at such a palatial estate.

I’m sure everyone in attendance thought the same thing, “Huh??”

  5. John Smith Says:

Did he forget to mention Jihad and dancing all over there dead bodies for Allah?

  6. stalker3 Says:

If they care so much, why didn’t they have a fundraiser to help out all the people they say are having the worst financial crisis ever?
I guess they don’t care about the disadvantaged that much.

  7. Bruce Says:

The Chicago Tribune reports that there’s at least one iconic Hollywood figure whom The Messiah would prefer to distance himself from, in spite of her reportedly plunking down her $28,500.00 last night to dine with Barry O:

Lindsay “put some panties on, for god’s sake” Lohan

  8. Ron Says:

America has given them everything they have. Why do they hate it so much?

  9. Mr. Pelican Pants Says:

Interesting. Looks like Obama told Lohan to “suck it”.

  10. Steve Says:

Right, and this NEVER happens with the republicans. McCain always spends a quite night with his wife in one of his seven homes.I don’t support either candidate (or party), but you should at least be fair. This is a TWO PARTY problem.

  11. Silvermare Says:

Still I can’t help but remember how at home McCain looked being at that NASCAR race, or how he came across at a Harley Fest in Sturgis. McCain looks at home in either a high-class or every-day occasion. Obama needs to learn something from McCain on that matter.

  12. Dan Says:

“where no one was ugly, poor, wrinkled, or foul-smelling?”
Well, other than the poor part, I would disagree.

  13. Bruce Says:

Oh, yes, “Steve“… you’re absolutely right, McCain has his own circle of “A-list” celebs in his back pocket. Why, he’s got Jon Voight! And Robert Duvall! And… well, actually, that’s pretty much it.

I do hear exciting rumors of a bake sale they’re organizing this weekend from their wing at Cedars-Sinai. With any luck, they might raise a couple hundred dollars for the McCain-Palin ticket.

The way these botoxed, coked-out, sheltered, elitist celebrity freaks are carrying water for their fellow celebrity Obama is bordering on a new McCarthyism.

Why else would wash-ups like Anne and Nancy Wilson, who should consider themselves fortunate that anyone would be willing to put their names in writing on anything other than a tombstone, spend their time and money to have attorneys drafting C&D letters to the RNC, prohibiting the use of their songs at Republican functions?

The answer is: Fear. Fear of being identified in any way, shape or form with any candidate who isn’t The Messiah.

If you don’t see the difference here, “Steve“, you’re not trying very hard.

  14. Ron Says:

Steve, we’re just observing the phenomenon of Hollywood’s knee-jerk, hyper-left culture.

If they want a job it’s either go lefty, go Scientology, or go back to Iowa.

  15. Don Says:

    Steve said:

“this is a two party problem.”

Duh, there are only two prominent political parties in this country.

When they both disagree with each the peoples work never gets done hence the economical debacle today.

Thanks ,to the ever right who doesn’t want to help the people,DEMOCRATic, Congress.

  16. HeatherRadish Says:

people who would never have the chance to be at such a palatial estate.

Especially funny because it’s open to the public. You have to pay for a guided tour of the interior, but that’s not unusual for mansions owned by cities or nonprofits. The grounds appear to be free during regular hours.

All that campaign cash, and all that brilliant intellect, and he can’t hire someone who can use Google (the official website was the first result)…and he wants us to think of running a campaign staff as “executive experience.”

  17. Roland Melnick Says:

All you guys aren’t being fair to Obama. Not all of his friends/supporters are on the left. He says he’s got plenty of friends on the right side of the aisle…he can’t name any…but he says he’s got ‘em.

  18. Steve Says:

Yall are a real hoot. I guess you would not consider top executives of many fortune 500 companies, banks, and investment firms as “the Hollywood” A list, but they are an A list of their own. Face it, both parties are corrupt and both McCain and Obama are part of the problem. McCain has had many years to make the changes he now claims he wants. No matter who wins we are all screwed. No health care, a ongoing war in the middle east, wall street tumbling down around us. And people like those who have been commenting here continuing to be partisan and refusing to take some of the blame for these problems. Join in the corruption, vote McCain/Obama, the same ole crap party.

  19. Don Says:

Just like the left does, wants bipartisanship but offers no bipartisanship of their own. Double standard. McCain had voted 22.7% with the left to help this nation. http://www.ontheissues.org/John_McCain.htm

  20. Jaeson Says:

Here’s how the Obama campaign thinks they can win:

  21. milwhowie Says:

    Streisand is felony ugly…..coyote ugly!

  22. gus Says:

What doesn’t occur to 20 watt bulb dimwit libs like “Steve”, is that the group that is supporting Obama are all Hollywood phonies. Connecting the dots never occurs to dimwitted libs. Losers, fakes, frauds, phonies and unions support Obama. He owns every 20-40 watt dimbulb that there is. What makes these Hollywood dimbulbs important? Those who follow them.

“It was funny to read his remarks about fighting for people who are concerned about the rising cost of health care, losing their pensions, or sending their children to college.”

It is funny, but he should have pointed:
    1. The 1.1 million people African Americans*already get free health care in prison and we are already investing 27,000 per year on each inmmate.
    2. The majority* do not get pensions for being in prison and/or not working, therefore can not lose them.
    3. Sending children* to college that can not read or write because they were absent or dropped out of high school will not help. Why don’t make sure you kid can read and attend school so they can learn to read. Why don’t you send your kid to school with lunch instead of spending it on cable TV.

  24. Patrick Dorwin Says:

I wonder if anyone there was clinging to their god and guns?

  25. HeatherRadish Says:

Those “banks and investment firms” overwhelmingly donate to Democrats, Steve.

  26. Mr. Parker Says:

Each donor got their picture taken with Obama, a framable certificate absolving them of their white guilt and 3 carbon credits.

  27. Steve Says:

Love the insults folks, it shows me how grown up you all are. Let me fill in a few blanks. I’m not a liberal. Never have been, never will be. And while you are all falling over backwards attacking the people who support Obama, you don’t look all too bright yourself. Who really cares what Barbara Streisand looks like. Insulting her sure makes your candidate look so much better. It’s amazing, your as bad as those you are going after. If whining won an election, yall would have nothing to worry about. To Heather, I read the article, it’s interesting but dated. Read it carefully. Maybe someone with a bit too much time on their hand should look at the filings from both candidates now that the primary is over. McCanin won his primary early, so there was no real need for them to donate. And I’m sure that these banks and investment funds would love to have influence, no matter who wins. Would it not be nice if both campaigns had/or will say No to this money? As I said, I’m not voting for either, so telling me Obama is bad means nothing, I know he is. I also know that McCain is just as bad (and according to Rove, the Republican god) McCain’s commercials are less truthful (but I do think they offer a better laugh)

  28. gus Says:

Steve, you are a liberal. Don’t kid yourself.

  29. Fired Up Says:

Steve finally a voice of reason from all the mindless drones. An interesting book came out about McCain. The authors are Republican. McCain is this superhero now but the same people who crapped on him 8 years ago are now his buddies. I had respect for McCain but now he is doing anything to get in the white House.
    http://www.usvetdsp.com/sep08/vetting_mccain.htm

  30. Mr. Parker Says:

It’s nice to hear the left use the argument that McCain would be Bush’s third term. For 8 years all they have cried about is how Bush stole the election in 2000 in Florida and in 2004 in Ohio. Now they’ve accepted the fact that he was legitimately elected.
As far as your book is concerned,it is disinformation, enough credibility to make people believe the lies in the rest of the book.
As far as the hypocritical hollywood rich democrats, they are fun to pick on. Money has given them status and the paparazzi hang on to their every word. The fact that they are almost all liberal left makes conservatives feel contempt for them. Most are uneducated with very little real world experience who can’t put a coherent sentence together even when they are sober. As actors, they tend to have schizoid personalities. After all, they have to get you to believe that they are someone else.

  31. gus Says:

Fired up, I’m no McCain fan, but you’d have to be deluded or retarded not to favor him over Obama. Obama is a scary Marxist, racially angry, Chicago politician with no scruples values or ability.
He is “media-made”. Libs are turgid with excitement over him, for obvious reasons.

  32. Gleek Says:

Streisand is a dog. Has anyone seen the movie “Nuts”? She was supposed to be a high price callgirl (LOL). Talk about being miscast!

  33. Jaeson Says:

I don’t often agree with the far left, but I do have to agree that the attacks on Babs’ appearance are below the belt. It’s the kind of thing I expect to read on Daily Kos or Moveon.org.

There’s plenty to criticize Streisand about, including her complete separation from reality and her irrelevancy in the modern day, without resorting to those kinds of cheap shots.

As far as the Hollywood elite, the only real positive effect they can have on the Dem campaign is monetary. If movie ticket sales are any indication, associations with the Hollywood elite won’t help in any measurable way, and could in fact hurt the Obama campaign.

  34. Steve Says:

Amazing the mind reading abilities of the folks here. I’m told not to kid myself, I”m a liberal but with nothing to back that up other than I don’t support your chosen candidate. As if the insult is going to make me jump and proclaim I’m lost my mind and now I’m a liberal. Sorry, it ain’t that easy.
Florida in 2000 was interesting, I lived there, I voted there (nope, not for Gore or Bush) and I watched the rest of the world laugh at people who went out and actually took the time to vote. Voting I guess is comedy to some, to others, they want their vote counted, no matter how they voted. It looks like the Republican party is trying to recreate the chaos in Florida here this year. Funny, Harris was Bush’s campaign manager in Florida and certified the vote for him. Van Hollen is McCain’s top person in WI and is trying to certify the vote for him. If I was in another state I’m sure I’d find a democrat doing the same for Obama.
And one of you calling Obama a Marxist, how sweet and totally ignorant. It shows how little you really know about politics. Since one of the basic tenets of Marxism is public ownership of the means of production I guess that rules Obama out. (unless you can point me to a good quote I’ve not seen) The two states I follow (Florida and now Wisconsin) have Marxist on the ballots, 3 in Florida and One I know of here (there may be more) Obama is not one of them.
The Original Maverick and Change I can believe it. Yup, SOS

So I’ve had enough fun reading your insults for people you don’t know and listening to people tell me interesting things about myself. I’ll leave it up to yall to fight amongst yourself and I’m going to sleep.

Remember, vote early and vote often, they don’t count them anyway.

  35. gus Says:

Jaeson, I have to agree. Barbara Streisand is a deluded fool. She is also a fantastic singer. But again, she is a deluded fool, rich and living in a pretend world that isn’t reality.
Did I mention she was a libtard?
However ripping her looks and persona isn’t relevant to that.
Having said that Jaeson, those HERE who rip her, are quite MILD in comparison to those on the left who are dripping in hate. I won’t comment on Streisands looks nor her has-been status. It’s not at issue.
BTW, Steve our current poster here?!?
Steve is lib. And Steve is more boring than Babs or her current husband.

John Smith, there is a website called factcheck.org with your name on it. Post #37 needs much revision. Please educate yourself.

The rest of you watch this, I’ll start by saying I’m a moderate, but no one will believe it and accuse me otherwise, which is fine.

For my second act, I’ll say this.
3.5 weeks ago, John McCain held his own Hollywood fundraiser with the likes of the following in attendance:
    Stephen Baldwin
    Pat Boone
    Wilford Brimley
    Dean Cain
    Jon Cryer
    Robert Duvall
    Angie Harmon
    Patricia Heaton
    Lorenzo Lamas
    Craig T. Nelson
    Gail O’Grady
    Jason Sehorn
    Gary Sinise
    Jon Voight

    Source: Fox News
    http://embeds.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/08/25/mccain-meets-gop-hollywood-at-fundraiser/

All I’m saying is please try to discuss real issues instead of whose side is more or less attractive, or whose side is vapid and connected with Hollywood. This is almost laughably boring. I like reading conservative perspectives when they are thoughtful………………..

  40. John Smith Says:

All I am saying is that Hollywood is throwing money at someone the know nothing about. And what they do know that he idealizes Malcolm X and his church that he attended and worked for over 20years has the same agenda that Malcolm X originally came up with.

So, was Malcolm X a great man or someone that was so radical and/or extreme that his own Nation of Islam murdered him.

Factcheck.org is a obviouly biased towards Obama, please educate yourself, look at their pathatic references. Why don’t you simply look at the statistics and/or correct mine:

    ~36 million African Americans
    1.1 million in prison
30 billion spent per year = 27,000 per inmate
estimate ~33% of population capable of working, but probably much less.
    .33*36 million = 12 million
    1.1 million / 12 million = ~10% of working force
1 out 3 male Africans Americans obtains a felony by age of 18.
28,000 per foster child per year (Milwaukee county)
25,000 per W-2 reciprient per year (WI)

The problem is the miss-perception that African Americans are victims, the reality is they are sucking the well dry. With this miss-perception Hollywood and the media jumping on board dead cities start to appear and the economy collapses. For only comprehising 13% of the population the African American community takes the lions share of the resources, but then turn their back on America to give to their people in Africa every chance they get (Obama’s main agenda). Why don’t you check out his website where it is clear what his agenda is.

  41. Bruce Says:

John Smith“: If you’re going to http://www.hyscience.com/archives/2008/08/senator_obama_w.php” rel=”nofollow”>copy talking points verbatim off of other web sites, you’re going to need to credit the original source.

Also, tone down the racist rhetoric. You can make your points about Obama without being so divisive.

mjonthemove“: Excellent list. Some real power brokers in that one.

And what, precisely, was the “per plate” cost to get into said McCain fundraiser?

  42. milwhowie Says:

“Tickets were $1,000, $500 for “young professionals” 35 and under, and $250 for students.”

I wonder how many “students” were in attendance at Barry O’s shindig…

  45. Roland Melnick Says:

@FiredUp and others on all sides of this discussion…some of the rhetoric in here is getting a bit out of hand as Bruce has said.

As for FiredUp’s reference to “Vetting McCain”…you really should show some originality (for lib circles anyway) and check out who you site. “Vetting” is written by a nut named Ted Sampley. He is a man who I would otherwise pay some respect because of his military experience, but he has become well known for exaggerating and downright lying about the fate of MIA soldiers and former POWs. He also believes that McCain is a “Manchurian Candidate” type Soviet mole who received his programming during his POW years in Vietnam. In addition, he actually suggests that McCain’s command of Spanish is proof that he is secretly working with the Cubans.

Sampley is a kook, FiredUp…quote him if you like, but many of us here don’t take things at face value. Anyone who researches Sampley will see through the crap.

  46. mjonthemove Says:

Sorry Bruce. I didn’t spend tons of time on it. I was just trying to answer your question. No hidden agenda here.

Students at Obama’s Hollywood Fundraiser? I don’t rightly know. If I was running for president, I wouldn’t have invited my 20-yr. old self to a fundraiser. I had zero funds for donating to political campaigns.
