Here you go.

This is one genuine, non-copyrighted photo of the Madison skyline, which I took from Olin-Turville Park on my way to the office this morning. I’ve even cropped it to fit almost perfectly into that spot where your “place holding” photo of downtown Minneapolis is now.

This required me to leave for work about 15 minutes early, fight the Beltline traffic (there was none, because I’m pretty certain I’m the only person working in Madison this week) and detour approximately 6 miles outside of my normal commute. I even got to briefly enjoy Madison’s Holiday Fantasy in Lights, although admittedly, they would have looked far more impressive at night.

The photo is yours for the taking, no strings attached. In fact, any of you can use it for any purpose you care to. I’m not stingy.

By the way – I just checked the price of a round-trip flight from Hartford/Bradley International (BDL) to Madison, WI (MSN) with no advance notice, traveling tomorrow, out and back the same day, via Northwest Airlines. The price? $490.22, plus taxes and fees.

The good folks at PLC Technology Group, LLC could have sent a peon with a digital camera to snap that elusive “non-copyrighted photo of the Madison skyline” they so badly desired for under $550.00, and the employee would have been home in time for dinner.

Bruce, thanks for letting me use the picture. I will have more scenic pictures in the next couple days. Hope you approve.

A million bucks,a company from out of state and most in Wisconsin don’t give a crap.

Happy New Year to you and yours.

Paul said it best: most in Wisconsin don’t care. I , however, am outraged. $1,000,000 for an out of state web developer?!?!?! They could’ve paid some college web developers a fraction of that and got a better website. I can’t believe it. People should be fired for this…

Nice picture, do you think they’ll use it or spend the $500 to get someone here?

  6. HeatherRadish Says:

Wow, Madison *does* slope to the left. ;)

  7. Bruce Says:

Yeah, I was standing on an icy hill. Didn’t really notice that ’til I got to the office.

Probably why they didn’t use my pic, hey?

Nothing motivates better than public ridicule.

I could have retired on the ONE MILLION DOLLARS that our State Government (Diamond Jim Doyle) wasted on this crap. I’m serious.
I would have called I-NET/Steve Libbey. I would have paid I-NET $20,000.00 and POOOOOF Bob’s your Uncle, I’d keep the $980,000.00 (much like a County back drop) and I could literally retire on 5% interest and a part time job.
    WITHOUT TOUCHING THE PRINCIPAL…..ever.
