Whoa, this is a stunning story from Great Britain, an ambulance crew was dispatched to a disabled man that called 999, their version of our 911 system, he said he thought he was having a heart attack. Before the crew arrived, the man collapsed, but did not hang up the phone, so the 999 staff was still recording the call when the ambulance crew arrived.

Instead of rushing to the mans aid, they talked about his run down home and then discussed whether or not they should bother to resuscitate this disabled man… The decision was no. They then talked about what their story would be and decided to tell authorities that the man was dead before they got there, then allowed the man to die.

Thank God this was caught on tape, there is no telling how many lives have been saved by the arrest of these two men… And how many have already been lost because these two “played God” and decided that others didn’t deserve to live. As I have said before, I hope there is a special corner of hell for people that prey on the elderly, disabled and children, and I hope these two end up there… Soon.

  1. GOPgal Says:

Just another reason why government-controlled heathcare is not “all that.”

  2. Jaeson Says:

This is a fairly good microcosm of socialized health care.

  3. gus Says:

If these guys worked for Child protective services and Diamond Jim Doyle, they’d get a gold watch, a transfer and paid time off.
I’m the son of Brit. Britain is sliding into the abyss faster than we are. Socialism does not work. The ideals of socialism collide with the impractibility of portioned or rationed health care. The result is a devaluation of “certain” life. We’ve found the devaluation of life here in America, vis a vis abortion. Infanticide is accepted by our President-elect. This mindset creeps and has crept since Roe V Wade. There is definitely a connection. The elderly are next.
Grandma doesn’t have a good quality of life, and my inheritance is dwindling each and every day. Turn off the machines and don’t resuscitate.

  4. Chris from Racine Says:

Government run health care at its best :/

  5. HeatherRadish Says:

Wow. His disability seems to have been a hip replacement. That he actually got one seems more shocking than that he was murdered for it (maybe he had private insurance?). Someone at NHS will sit down next week and calculate how much money they can save by denying the procedure to people who live in neighborhoods with a high crime rate. It’s just wasted if they’re going to die anyway…

I’m sure we’ll never see any follow-up on this case, but they were arrested for “wilfully neglecting to perform a duty in public office”, which doesn’t sound very serious.

    This is just to sad.

  7. Roland_Melnick Says:

I agree with the “devaluation of life” point Gus makes, but I disagree with the contention that “socialized medicine” or govt. run health care is to blame. Emergency services are a govt. responsibility everywhere in the world…it wasn’t the system that failed this guy…it was the criminal actions of the ambulance crew.

There are plenty of arguments against socialized medicine, I don’t think this is one of them.

  8. Jaeson Says:

Roland, I think you’re missing the bigger picture here.

In socialized medicine, these kinds of determinations are made by those who have been placed in positions of authority. The only difference, is that those who sit behind a desk while making these decisions aren’t typically arrested.

So while it is indeed the fault of the ambulence crew, it nevertheless represents the spirit of socialized medicine on a smaller scale fairly well.

  9. gus Says:

Roland, the perps here did not get their attitudes in a vacuum. In a world of socialized medicine, some lives are more worthy of the limited resources than others. Who gets pushed to the side? Pre-born and elderly. I believe these scum bags are guilty of crimes, but there are plenty of people under socialized medicine that don’t get treated because of government policy. That isn’t a jab at socialized medicine, it is merely a commentary on where socialized medicine takes societies and the attitudes that will follow.
It is completely analagous to abortion. Abortion is not seen as in any way bad by a large section of society that has never known a counter prevailing attitude. Abortion was not always accepted and fought for by a large section of society. Nor did we used to have a large political faction that cheered on Teri Schiavo’s death. The indifference to the lives of pre-born, elderly and infirm is part and parcel of societies protection or lack thereof of the aforementioned groups.

  10. John Says:

In the UK, ambulance services have been privatized and run by private companies. It is similar to the system in most US cities.

  11. gus Says:

It is not similar at all. Private ambulance companies in Britain bill the government.
The government determines who gets service and whom gets paid.
I’m half British and I lived in Britain. It is not similar at all.
In Britain the government decides who gets service and who doesn’t.

  12. John Says:

In this case the workers made the decision and they were private.

  13. gus Says:

So what? They were private. So what? Are you trying to make a point?
They were private workers whose entire income is paid by the government and taxation.
What is the difference? If they worked for the government, would they be somehow different?

  14. gus Says:

John were you aware that the workers who allowed the little boy Christopher Thomas to be beat to death were private?? La Causa was the non-profit.
What difference does it make whether these ambulance attendants got their pay directly from government or as a pass through? I suspect you are trying to assert that “government” wouldn’t have done the same. Are you?

  15. John Says:

No, I was correcting your mistake of saying the reason this person died was because they were government workers. I actually support privatization of emergency services, which Britain did 5 years ago.

  16. gus Says:

I said nothing of the kind John-boy. You’re a little short on brains. Why are libtards like you so emotionally weak?

  17. John Says:

Ah, the Mickey/Gus playbook. Insult someone when you do not have an argument. Mickey/Gus look at post 9. I know it is very tempting to try to turn everything into a condemnation of what you disagree with, but there needs to be a coherent connection before you can do that.

By the way I am neither a “liberal” nor a “libtard”, whatever that is, I just cannot stand incompetence.

  18. gus Says:

Johnny, I debated you factually. Then you lied.
Run along you blubbering cry baby.

  19. gus Says:

John, this is what you posted.
((No, I was correcting your mistake of saying the reason this person died was because they were government workers. I actually support privatization of emergency services, which Britain did 5 years ago.))

Back up what you said or shut the f@#$ up libtard.
You can’t because you’re a pthetic lying coward.
Back it up John or shut up.

  20. Zach W. Says:

    Jaeson #8:

You said, “these kinds of determinations are made by those who have been placed in positions of authority,” as if the idea of bureaucrats making decisions regarding an individual’s health care is limited only to government-run health care. The reality is bureaucrats sitting behind desks are already making life and death decisions regarding the health care of the insured…the only difference is that the bureaucrats in the private health care system are motivated by profit margins and greed.

  21. John Says:

Deep breathes Mickey/gus, deep breathes. Look at post 9. Oh, and thanks for proving my point about your playbook.

    Stay classy Mickey/gus!

  22. gus Says:

Once again John/Libtard, I said nothing of the kind. You’re a lying windbag.
Here’s what you said John-boy. “your mistake of saying the reason this person died was because they were government workers”

Show me where I said that John? You can’t because I didn’t.
I eat libtrads like you for breakfeast.

Show me where I said that or shut theu fuq up libtard.

  23. gus Says:

    That was quite easy!
Johnny/Libtard made an accusation that he can’t back up. Typical of a liberal, he says something that is untrue and won’t back it up.
Johnny wants to win an argument and doesn’t care if he has to lie to do so.

    Johnny got spanked.

  24. gus Says:

One last chance to come clean Johnny!!
    Here is post #9.

No where in that post do I say the following.

John do you get the feeling that I’m dismantling your lies??
    I am.

  25. John Says:

Wow, three posts within 10 minutes doing nothing but insulting me and using childish language. Here is a suggestion, make a rational argument Mickey/Gus and maybe people will actually take you seriously. Until then you are just a caricature.
