The investigation of the latest pension scandal is being placed on hold while those with the most to hide try to curtail the scope of the investigation. So instead of the process moving forward, it is being successfully stalled.

The Milwaukee Pension board has approved an independent investigation of their fraudulent pension buyback program. They did however block a John Doe hearing from the District Attorneys office. But they still have to please the 800 pound gorilla in the room, the IRS.

This looks to be huge. The county, under Tom Ament and before, allowed county workers to “buy into” a plan that would turn non-pension eligible time into “five- or six-figure pension gains over a retirement lifetime.”
