After all the problems with him over the summer, now Javon Walker may be out the entire season with an ACL tear.
JS Online: Knee injury may sideline Walker for season
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Javon Walker appears to have suffered a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee when he went down with an injury in the third quarter of the Packers’ 17-3 loss to the Lions, Packers head coach Mike Sherman said in his post-game news conference. If so, the injury would likely sideline the Pro Bowl wide receiver for the rest of the season.
As someone that tore my ACL & MCL at the same time, I can tell you how this can ruin your whole day…err, year.
Gawd, it’s gonna be a loooong season…
No time for comments, but I think that the New Orleans Saints plan to move to San Antonio Tx. permanently is a huge slap in the face to Louisiana residents in what is already a bad time for them… Great timing you idiot! You couldn’t wait a few weeks or months before making that statement?
I haven’t had much time for fun blogging, but I can’t pass this up. Cletidus Hunt was FINALLY cut by the Packers. I know they will take a hit on his salary, but I think the team is better off without this clown!
JS Online: Packers suffer bad line of credit
When veteran Cletidus Hunt was released Saturday in the cut-down to 53, it marked yet another failure in the Green Bay Packers’ recent attempts to piece together a dominant defensive line.
Reports are Bubba Franks has signed a 6 year deal with the Packers. Now if we only had a few guards on that line…
My family home town has a baseball team that is going to their leagues finals for the fourth time in five years. One of their stars is pitcher John Murphy, John is the son of one of my friends.

Best of luck today John!
Javon Walker mans up! He has reported to Packer training camp, fulfilling his contract. You are doing the right thing Javon!
JS Online: Walker shows up
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Javon Walker wasn’t ready to discuss his reasons for arriving in town Wednesday evening for the official start of training camp, but he was willing to concede it was time to end his holdout. And he did, reporting for a mandatory meeting Wednesday night.
“Tell them I’m coming in,” Walker said as he arrived at the Green Bay airport shortly after 5 p.m. “You can tell them that.”
Up until Walker’s arrival at Austin Straubel Airport, the Packers were under the impression he wasn’t going to be present for the start of training camp. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told the Journal Sentinel a week ago that Walker would not be there when camp started because he was unhappy with his contract.
Ouch!
JS Online: ‘05 season to be Alvarez’s last as coach
Barry Alvarez, head football coach and athletic director at the University of Wisconsin, has finalized plans to turn over the coaching reins to his hand-picked successor after the upcoming 2005 season.According to sources, Alvarez, 58, will coach through this season, his 16th at the school.
He then will step down to focus solely on his role as athletic director, a job he added before last season.
As a Badger fan, this hurts.
