To late for Mary Jo

Sure, now he wants to rescue someone from the water…

BREITBART.COM - Just The News

U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy attempted to rescue six men who had become trapped by high tide on a jetty off Hyannisport on Sunday.

The Massachusetts Democrat eventually left the rescue to Hyannis firefighters, The Cape Cod Times reported Monday.

If I was in danger and around water, ‘ol Teddy would be the last guy I would want help from

TABOR supported by a 2: 1 majority

by @ 7:39 pm. Filed under Home

This morning a new poll was released, it simply asked:

"Would you favor or oppose a Wisconsin state constitutional amendment that would limit increases in spending by both state and local governments to the rate of inflation?"

It doesn’t surprise me that a majority said yes, the Taxpayers Bill of Rights TABOR is popular with everyone it seems except legislators, including many Republicans! The numbers in this poll should make even a RINO rethink their opposition. In this poll, TABOR was supported by 62% to 27% opposed. And even large majorities of Democrats support the amendment, 56%.

Even among those that consider themselves Liberals, TABOR is supported 46% to 40% opposed. Even in the Democratic strongholds, TABOR is supported by a majority. In the city of Milwaukee, 64% support it and in the Peoples Republic of Madison 51% support TABOR.

Just over a year ago, Mary Panzer, the Republican leader in the Wisconsin legislature, was defeated in an 80%-20% landslide by a Republican challenger, Glenn Grothman. The sole issue was Panzer’s refusal to support TABOR. This alone should have been enough for Republican leaders to take notice of their base and our demand that they support TABOR, the numbers in this poll are much the same, statewide, Republicans favor TABOR by 76%. But how did the Republican leadership take the Panzer landslide loss? They installed another RINO, Dale Schultz, to continue to block TABOR.

Of special note to Waukesha voters

In this poll, another very interesting set of numbers came out. Waukesha County supports the TABOR amendment by a huge majority of 77% to 23% opposed. As Waukesha voters go to the polls tomorrow (10/17/2005), just remember that Jim Dwyer opposes TABOR, but Dan Vrakas is a TABOR supporter.

REPUBLICANS, TAKE NOTICE!

WISN Radio Update

by @ 6:28 pm. Filed under Home

Two quick comments about WISN Radio, first is the sad news of the death of the mother of Jay Webber. The paper has the following story for details. Jay was supposed to be in Italy with the Weber & Dolan listener trip, but the accident happened before the trip began.

JS Online: Crash kills mother of radio personality Mary Jane Weber, 63, an Oconomowoc resident and the mother of Milwaukee radio personality Jay Weber, died after a two-car accident on a busy stretch of Blue Mound Road, the woman’s family said Sunday.

With Weber & Dolan scheduled to be off this week, WISN Talkstar contestant (I still think he should have been the winner) Chris Tarijon (I know I probably misspelled that last name) will be doing the show with Jerry Bott all week, so Chris fans get another chance.

Another venue that we knew would be a looser

This shouldn’t surprise anyone either, the overpriced, rebuilt Milwaukee Auditorium that was $10 million over budget, is already in the red.

JS Online: Theater’s income 40% under budgetThrough the first eight months of the year, the $42 million Milwaukee Theatre has generated operating income of just under $1 million, nearly 40% under budget.

When expenses are figured in, the theater is nearly $188,000 in the red through Aug. 31.

The financial report was sent to members of the Wisconsin Center District board in advance of this week’s budget meeting. It is the first time the district has provided a more complete accounting of the theater’s revenue and expenses separate from the U.S. Cellular Arena and the Midwest Airlines Center.

With the reopening of The Riverside Theater, there will be even more competition for the same dollars. Milwaukee can’t support what we have already, but some of us told you that years ago…

The biggest shocker yawner I have seen in…

This is a good sign… The Milwaukee paper that hasn’t endorsed a winner in years, has endorsed the RINO that is running a false and misleading ad campaign.

JS Online: Editorial: Dwyer for county executive

 Remember:

Vote Tuesday for Waukesha County Executive, elect the only Conservative in the race, Dan Vrakas!
