Chuck Chvala makes a plea bargain, we learn tomorrow if he will do any jail time… oh, wait, this is an E. Michael McCann lackey Assistant District Attorney, so there will be no jail time…
JS Online: Chvala makes plea deal in corruption case
Milwaukee County prosecutors and lawyers for former state Sen. Charles Chvala (D-Madison) have negotiated a deal under which Chvala would plead guilty to at least some of the 19 criminal charges growing out of the most widespread criminal Capitol corruption investigation, the Journal Sentinel learned this afternoon.
Dane County Circuit Judge David Flanagan scheduled an 11 a.m. hearing Tuesday on the plea bargain, which he could accept or reject.
This morning, Assistant Milwaukee County District Attorney David Feiss told Flanagan that both sides had "reached an agreement on all facets" of the case - including what charges the former Senate majority leader would plead guilty to and sentencing recommendations, which could include a jail or prison sentence and restitution.
The following is a Press Release from Scott Walker, Scott also discuses this on his own Blog
Wisconsin citizens expect, at a minimum, their vote to be counted. As I have said, Jim Doyle and the Democrats must understand that failing to require a photo ID opens up our election system to those who would desire to take votes from law-abiding citizens.
Walker also noted that Former President Jimmy Carter and former Secretary of State James Baker, co-chairmen of the National Commission on Federal Election Reform, recently suggested that elections in the United States should require a standardized photo ID for all voters.
Milwaukee is hosting a special U.S. House Committee hearing in election issues. I have a question…
Who the hell thinks Gwen Moore has any credibility at all when it comes to voting fraud? Her son slashed the tires on a fleet of vehicles to be used for a Republican "get out the vote" effort!
JS Online: Photo ID issue topic of House committee debate
At a U.S. House committee special hearing in Milwaukee on election issues today, supporters and opponents of a photo ID requirement for voters reached a predictable conclusion: Disagreement.
The House Administration Committee held the hearing to look into the many problems with the 2004 presidential election in Wisconsin, which had one of the closest results in the nation. While a range of problems were touched on, many witnesses - and questioners - returned time and again to the photo ID issue.
Backers, including a member of a national election reform commission that recommended such a provision, said it would help restore confidence in the election system, assist poll workers and help guard against some forms of voter fraud. Critics said it would unfairly hit the poor and minorities, with U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Milwaukee) declaring flatly it would "have the effect of disenfranchising over a quarter of a million eligible voters in our state."
Gwen Moore’s argument that a quarter of a million voters would be disenfranchised in Wisconsin alone is a flat out lie that have been proven as such over and over again. How can anyone take this clown seriously? Just wait until she starts screaming and throwing microphones on the floor of the U.S. House like she did here in Madison. She would freak out about every two years in the State Legislature, so I think she’s about due!
Please don’t miss the outstanding Spivak & Bice column on the race baiting homophobic alderman Michael McGee Jr. During the trip, he showed a video that had highlights of his (McGee) confrontation with openly gay State Senator Tim Carpenter when Carpenter demanded an apology for McGee’s "sick faggots" comment. McGee said to the group, "Man, I should have kicked his ass," and "I could have punched him, I could have punched him,"
JS Online: Millions More lessons of intolerance
Keenya Hofmaier and Rosetta Riley - a couple of high-achieving Riverside University High School students - went to the Millions More Movement in Washington, D.C., last week hoping to learn something.
And, boy, did they get an education.
Before it was all over, the pair endured nearly 40 hours on a crowded bus with little food, missed most of the D.C. event, were subjected to hours of what they said were racist videos and, to top it all off, were accused of being lesbians by an alderman.
So much for what was supposed to be an inspirational and historic excursion led by Ald. Michael McGee.
Such a great leader he is, and don’t forget his encouragement of young people to stop cooperating with police…

JS Online: Dalton engineered baseball winners
Over a 41-year career, Harry Dalton was a savvy and skilled baseball man who built winning baseball organizations, including the 1982 Milwaukee Brewers, the only time the franchise went to the World Series.
Dalton, 77, died Sunday morning at the home of his daughter, Kimberly, in Scottsdale, Ariz., of complications of Parkinson’s disease. He had the disease for six years.
Some of my best Sunday mornings when I was a kid were spent watching AWA Wrestling with my dad. Everyone loved Da’ Crusher! He was a Milwaukee Icon! Sad news for us is The Crusher has passed away… Time to Roll out the barrel.
