The Personal Protection Act

by @ 7:57 pm. Filed under Home

Frank Lasee has a great column in this weeks Lasee’s Notes on The Personal Protection Act in Wisconsin.

The Personal Protection Act
What to say about concealed carry?

Opponents began wheeling out the same old tired arguments, even before we had a written proposal to allow law abiding trained civilians to carry concealed weapons.
Should we re-hash all the rebuttals?

We could bring up Australia again, where crime grew rapidly after a gun “Buy-back” program designed to “get guns off the streets.” Armed robberies rose by 73% in three years.
Did it get guns off the streets? No. Only out of the hands of law-abiding citizens.

If you are at all interested in concealed carry, please take a few minutes and read the whole thing.

They’ll never get it

The media can only talk about what a bad week the President has had, but what are they ignoring?

Yes, his Supreme Court Nominee got bounced, but I think this actually strengthens the Presidents position now that his base feels that we can solidify behind him again. With a good strong nominee this time around, his energized base will be willing to fight, and fight hard to get a Conservative through the nomination process.

Yes, Scooter Libby was indicted. If he’s guilty of wrong doing, he should be punished. But up until a day or so ago, the Liberal media was talking about several indictments including of course Carl Rove, but even though they extended the Grand Jury, Libby is the only person they can find that may have committed a crime. So much for the Liberal dream of taking down the administration. The indictments didn’t even have anything to do with wrongdoing associated with the “outing” of what’s her name…

The media took great joy in pointing out that since the beginning of the Iraq War, 2,000 American troops have been killed, but they have done their best to ignore that the brave Iraqi people have voted for and approved by a huge margin, their own Constitution.

Another story that the Liberal media is doing its best to ignore is the fact that, even with all the doom and gloom that they try to convince us of, the U.S. Economy grew by 3.8%, this is very strong growth, this is good news…Unless you don’t want people to know the truth.

Outstanding conversation on why Rove will never be indicted

by @ 10:40 am. Filed under Home

Carl Rove will not be indicted, an event that makes the Left and the media unhappy. The press is telling us that Carl Rove is still under investigation and may yet be indicted, but this conversation with former Federal Prosecutor Jeff Wagner explains why this is highly unlikely. Wagner spent 14 years in the US Attorneys office and he says that it would be almost impossible for them to get Rove for anything now that the Grand Jury has been dismissed. For them to continue with this, they would have to spend hundreds, if not thousands of hours reading ALL of the past testimony, the new Grand Jury would have to have all of the same information as the first had and this just is not going to happen.

Listen to Charlie Sykes & Jeff Wagner discuss this whole issue. This gives a very clear, easy to understand explanation of what is going on. I’m really glad these two had the conversation on the air.

No trick-or-treat for state’s sex offenders

Pedophiles / trick-or-treat, an almost non-existent threat, says a"criminal justice expert"… Ever hear of Gerald Turner? Maybe you know him by his nick-name, the Halloween Killer … Morons!

JS Online: No trick-or-treat for state’s sex offenders

Thousands of sex offenders in Wisconsin will not to be allowed to answer their door during trick-or-treat this Halloween weekend, according to special set of rules imposed by the state Department of Corrections for a holiday geared toward children, officials said Thursday. While corrections officials touted the move as protecting children, a criminal justice expert said it was a "public relations" move that would protect against an almost non-existent threat.

Our old buddy Stan Stojkovic, the guy that wants sexual predators on our streets, as long as they aren’t in his neighborhood, said:

"This is one day, a couple hours. Its impact on sex offenses will be minimal at best. It is more a public relations thing. At one level, that is OK, depending on what their purpose is. Will it make children safer? No," he said.
