Is WNOV in violation of their FCC license?

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

WNOV radio is licensed for 250 watts day time and 6 watts night time. But tonight, like many nights, they still appear to be running at full power in violation of their FCC license. I know this has been talked about on the technical type radio message boards.

I find it interesting, that with controversy swirling around their station, they aren’t more careful.

I have to apologize to John Chisholm

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

I was pretty tough on new Milwaukee District Attorney John Chisholm for his inaction on evident crimes made by Michael McGee Jr.. In light of what we have seen over the past few days, I offer this apology. This case has been in the works for over a year, I now believe that is why Chisholm did not go after McGee on the obvious signs of criminal activity.

Friends in law enforcement told me to reserve my opinion on Chisholm, they had confidence that Chisholm would NOT be another E. Michael McCann, and they were right. That’s what I get for allowing my frustration get the better of me.

No go get ‘em John!

(Can you imagine McCann in this situation? He would have filled his pants when someone said they had to arrest a McGee.)

Willie Hines calls for investigation of 6th district licenses

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

Common Council President Willie Hines is calling for many dealings in the 6th district to be reviewed, a good move.

Common Council President Willie Hines Jr. called today for city administrators to review all license applications and other city business under way in embattled Ald. Michael McGee’s district.

[…]

At a City Hall news conference this afternoon, Hines said he was not making any accusations against McGee. But in light of the charges, Hines said, “It is vital that the integrity of the city and the city services not be compromised in any way… Someone needs to look out for the 6th Aldermanic District.”

Hines said the probe would not be limited to liquor licenses, but also would include zoning matters, land sales and other issues that would have brought McGee’s constituents to City Hall. He said he was asking administrators to check whether all of those matters were being handled fairly and consistently.

McGee Staffer charged with paying for votes

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

A man believed to be Ald. Michael McGee’s uncle was charged today with bribing people to vote for McGee in the April 3 recall election which McGee won.

Garrett L. Huff, 58, was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit election bribery, the complaint said. It arises from a secret John Doe hearing that has been held at the Milwaukee County Courthouse over several months.

The complaint says that Huff paid voters $5 per vote.

I TOLD YOU SO!

Yep, I told you that this illegal activity was going on, I posted about it here:
- Alderman McGee Supporters and illegal campaigning
- McGee Recall Ballot set

You can read the Criminal Complaint here.

One more tidbit

Mark Belling passed along some interesting information, if McGee can stretch this out and hold onto his seat until April of 2008, he will be fully vested in the city pension plan, meaning that he will be eligible for his retirement benefits when he hits 62.

Seems like an intrepid reporter would like to follow up on this.

Michael McGee calls his show to sing a song

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

If I was in jail for conspiring to assault and possibly murder someone (not to mention the federal extortion and bribery charges), I don’t think I would be singing about bloody banners… Then again, I’m not Michael McGee.

This audio is from a phone call that McGee made from jail this morning, of course he tells us that he was set up etc…

A good sign

Fred Thompson has asked to be released from his contract from Law & Order… I think we all know why :D

How many games is he going to be allowed to lose for us this year

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

Geeze, it is starting again, Derrick Turnbow come in and gives up a bunch of runs (last night he gave up 7 runs…7!) and Ned Yost just sits there and watches it happen. The job of a manager is TO MANAGE! When you see someone with a long history of totally falling apart and losing games, you should pull them out of the freakin’ game!

MPD cop, an Illegal Alien?

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

Wow, a Milwaukee police officer was arrested for suspicion of being an illegal immigrant…

It is suspected that he, as a teenager, took on the identity of his dead cousin. By doing that at such a young age, he created a trail of fingerprints and other identification that ultimately allowed him to join the department, Schwartz said.

Comic relief

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

It has been a pretty hectic and emotional few days here at BadgerBlogger, so I thought I would share a story to ease the tension a little. If you have been here long, you know that I have a puppy named Pal, he is about 6 months old now and still full of that puppy fun.

This evening, he had a piece of paper stuck to his wet little nose, and he was chasing it around the house trying to catch it. It was hilarious watching him running around the room and bouncing off the furniture, but that paper stayed just ahead of him, he was barking and yapping at it, it was driving him nuts.

Of course, by the time I got the video camera, he got the paper off of the end of his nose (and ate it!) but I know you all would have had a great laugh.

There, wasn’t that more fun that fighting about McGee? You are now free to go back to your arguments ;-)

Good night.

McGee discussed murder!

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

Woah, now we know why police moved in when they did. It appears that the electronic surveillance and wiretaps may have saved someone a horrible beating and perhaps a life.

UPDATE: McGee discussed homicide, assault
Milwaukee Ald. Michael McGee and two other men discussed killing a man and settled on a “beat down,” said District Attorney John Chisholm said in court today.

McGee’s attorney, Glen Givens, said prosecutors are confused about street language and at worst the trio were guilty of planning a battery, which is a misdemeanor.

It was not revealed who the intended victim was, but it was over an alleged burglary.

At one point, the men talk about “peeling back his wig” and “sew his cap together,” Chisholm said.

The judge allowed the case to move forward but refused to unseal the complaint, pending a preliminary hearing.

As someone that has been a thorn in the side of the McGee’s, and had often been cautioned by my friends, I have to admit that, while not really surprising, it still got my attention.

Update
Rick Esenberg answers the question, What did McGee, Jr., mean?

UPDATE: Audio of hearing
WTMJ has posted the audio of the entire hearing. This is a large file (53 minutes).

Fred Thompson set to announce on the 4th of July

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

Good news, Fred Thompson seems ready to make it official on the 4th of July. What a great day to make this announcement. It is clear that his organization is already gearing up.

Fred has been my choice since he first commented that he was considering making the run… Now I can’t wait, I haven’t been this excited about a national candidate in a long long time.

McGee back in court

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

At this hour (2pm) The Alderthug will be back in court. So far, nothing on the TV or papers website, so I assume that there will be no tv coverage, I will post back if this changes.

I know that McGee’s Supporter(s) planned to be there too.

Hopefully we will learn a little more about the state charges.

Update

McGee hearing draws packed house
Today’s hearing in Milwaukee County Circuit Court for Ald. Michael McGee drew a packed house in Judge Dennis Moroney’s courtroom in the Safety Building.

Sheriff’s deputies announced there was seating for 25 and everyone needed to have a seat to stay in the courtroom.

“Everyone come out to support McGee, so what are we supposed to do?” one woman said.

Another supporter told a deputy, “You’ll get a chance to lock us all up real soon.”

The paper has more, and I will post more info as it comes available.

Update: 2:50
It is official, McGee has been charged with conspiracy to commit substantial battery .

UPDATE: WOW!
McGee discussed murdering someone, now we know why the cops moved in when they did.

Note to the McGee radio show

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

Just a note to the callers and co-hosts to the Word Warriors radio show…

Linear Thought… Give it a try sometime. Whew.

It is not the fault of the “European Crackers” that that Alderman McGee is a criminal.

It is not the fault of the “A-rabs” that McGee demanded bribes.

The white drug dealers didn’t make McGee solicit acts of violence.

The Nazi Police didn’t make McGee accept bribes.

The Mayor and other Aldermen didn’t trick McGee into doing anything.

Michael McGee is not Jesus, he is not Dr. Martin Luther King… He is just a thug that has become a corrupt elected official. If you want someone to blame for his actions, blame McGee himself, and blame those that have allowed him to get away with it for so long. It is not whities fault.

Linear Thought is something you really need to engage in folks.
