Important Tech Note

I just want to give a heads up on the server problems we have been experiencing over the past few weeks. Because of the load that this, and my other domain have been putting on the current server, my hosting company is moving both domains to a new, more powerful server. The change will be made on monday, but any changes made tomorrow (Sunday) may not be transferred to the new server, so I will not be posting Sunday, unless something big breaks, I will then save a copy myself, so I can manually update it if needed Monday.

What this means for you guys, if you leave a comment Sunday or early Monday before the switch, it may get lost when everything is moved.

For the tech geeks:

Your new server is an Intel Woodcrest 5130 Dual Core with 4GB RAM. The new server will increase significantly the quality of our service in the following aspects:

** the new server will be more powerful and your site will load faster;
** the server configuration will allow future upgrades of space and traffic;
** the new hard drives are larger (more space) and faster (better performance for your site).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE TRANSFER:

** The transfer of your account will be performed on Monday, July 02, 2007.

** There will be no information loss during the transfer, however, SiteGround strongly recommends that you do not perform any changes on your website starting from Sunday, July 01, 2007 until the transfer is completed.

I will move this post to the top of the page as needed.

Those that have been sampling the global warming kool-aid will never accept the fact that: Alarmist global warming claims melt under scientific scrutiny

Facts, they are pesky things.

Our allies have been reminded that the Global War on Terror is still on

Saturday, June 30th, 2007

For the second day in a row, the British have been attacked at home. Yesterday, two very powerful car bombs were discovered before they detonated (thank God) and today, two men drove a jeep into an airport terminal and attempted to blow themselves up… They failed, no one was killed and both terrorists are in custody.

This comes days after a new, more liberal government took it’s place at the helm of Great Britain, proving once again, that terrorists don’t care of you are going to knuckle under to them, when they hate you, they will not stop until they kill or are killed.

I wonder what it will take for American liberals to be reminded that the Global War On Terror is still being fought… by at least, one side.

A rude awakening

Saturday, June 30th, 2007

This morning, I was awakened at about 4:15 by the sounds of crying in my back yard. I had the window open, so I could hear clearly, so I asked who was there. There was, what sounded like a young woman that asked “please help me.” When I asked other questions, like who are you and what happened, she just kept repeating “please help me.” I told her to wait there, and I was calling the police and we would get her some help.

I have some very thick bushes behind my house, and a corner between the bushes and the garage that was at one time a garden, now it is pretty wild back there, but I could hear her moving through those bushes, away from my house. I had to come to the other end of my house to get the phone, I called 911 and reported this and I heard her heading towards the west, through the yards, still crying.

A patrol officer called me a short time later, asking if I had more details, unfortunately I didn’t. Since I didn’t see her, I could give no description. The officer told me that they had several similar calls in the area, but they could find no one, so they were trying to get any more information they could.

Needless to say, by this time, I was fully awake, so I wasn’t going to get any more sleep, so I took my dog and wandered around the house and checked the yard and the garage, nothing out of place and nothing to see in the bushes. So I sat outside, watched the sun come up and relaxed to the chirping birds at the feeders. It was cool, but I was dressed warm, so I sat out there for over an hour, just enjoying a pretty morning, watching Pal roll in the grass, and hoping that the young woman that needed help was okay.

I know there is almost no chance that she would ever read this, but if she would, I want her to know that I wanted to help her, most people would if we had the chance, although it was scary for us too, we never know what is really going on. I hope it worked out well for you.

McGee Public Defender prevents bail hearing, so McGee remains behind bars

Friday, June 29th, 2007

Yes, Michael McGee Jr. is still being held with no bail on his federal charges, and I know that the McZombies who will support him no matter how many crimes he has committed, will never admit this, but US Attorney Steven Biskupic is not responsible for McGee staying locked up.

McGee’s defense attorney, Calvin Malone, of Federal Defender’s Service, said he needed to hear investigators’ wiretap conversations before he could mount an argument in a bail hearing. The next date was set for July 9. McGee will remain at the Milwaukee County Jail, according to the U.S. Marshal’s Service.

McGee was frustrated he wasn’t going to go free, Malone said, and during the hearing he mouthed words to someone in the gallery. Only few supporters were present.

To touch on the second point of this quote, it is McGee’s attorney that was not prepared to argue bail.

Now let’s get back to the first point… McGee, who makes over $70,000 a year has a Public Defender? You have GOT to be kidding me!

Juneteenth beating suspect arrested

Friday, June 29th, 2007

A responsible citizen finally came forward and did the right thing by turning in the thug that kicked a motorist that was dragged from his car and beaten.

Man arrested in Juneteenth beating
Milwaukee police this morning announced they have made an arrest in the beating of a business owner after the Juneteenth celebration last week.

Department spokeswoman Anne E. Schwartz said the suspect, a 19-year-old man, would be referred to prosecutors today for possible charges. She released no other information about the man.

The attack, caught on videotape and broadcast nationally, left the victim, a father of two, unable to work or drive.

Someone needs to teach McJr supporters how federal wiretap law works

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

Sorry I don’t have audio of this, it would make it easier for me to hit on several points (or missed points) made again today on WNOV radio’s Word Warrior program. They continue to talk about how the wiretap was illegal, and how the D.A. isn’t allowed to listen to the tapes… this is so blatantly false.

Wiretaps are legal, they do require a judges approval of course, and they not only had a judges approval, it was a federal judge, and remember what federal judge, it is Judge Lynn Adelman, hardly a tough on crime, pro cop judge, this is one of the most liberal judges in the nation, a man that has overturned convictions, including murder convictions on minor technicalities, so for Adelman to approve wiretaps, and later, after hearing the threats made by McGee, the release of this federal wiretap information to the Milwaukee District Attorneys office, it had to be some pretty damning stuff… And from the transcripts we have all seen, I would agree.

Getting back to the people on the radio show, one has to wonder if they are truly ignorant of the law, or if they simply want to rile up people that are ignorant of the law… The jury is still out on that one. But perhaps they could have an attorney (other than McGee’s attorney) that is familiar with the federal law dealing with wiretaps on the show, but maybe they don’t want people to understand the issue.

Milwaukee’s Wi-Fi network won’t be ready on time — I’m Shocked… Not

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

We sure were sold a bill of goods on this one, weren’t we? Nearly two years ago, I was really hyped on this, I even had the sham of a company sending me information on the side… Now it is obvious that they were just playing me and the rest of this city.

MILWAUKEE WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS WON’T BE READY ON TIME
Having already missed the deadline to have a demonstration area up by nearly six months, the City of Milwaukee’s wireless Internet service will not be ready city-wide by the deadline called for in its contract, the provider’s vice president said.

The latest delay prompted one Common Council member to threaten to pull the contract because of the delay.

Midwest Fiber Networks’ contract with the city, which involves no taxpayer funding, calls for the network to be completed city-wide by March 18, 2008. While the company plans to have the test area ready to go live July 7, Midwest Vice President Cheri Grainger said it would be “physically impossible” to get all of the needed equipment in place by the deadline.

Milwaukee’s new Anti-Gang Loitering Ordinance signed

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

Mayor Empty Suit Tom Barrett did the right thing and signed the anti-gang loitering ordinance today, you can read his release here… Even though he signed it, he’s still pretty wishy-washy on this issue.

McGee makes bail on state charges, still in jail on federal charges

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

Breaking NewsJailed Alderman Michael McGee Jr. has had his $50,000 cash bail paid. However, McGee is still jailed on the federal charges.

I am glad this has happened, because now we will learn more about the federal charges against McGee.

Minister posts McGee’s $50,000 bail
Bail of $50,000 was posted today for Milwaukee Ald. Michael McGee but he remains in the Milwaukee County jail on pending federal charges, officials said.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Kim Brooks said the bail was posted at 1:55 p.m. A cashier’s check for $50,000 from Mid-America Bank signed by the Rev. George King was used, she said.

Federal marshals will pick McGee up Friday morning and he is expected to appear in federal court on bribery charges Friday, officials said.

You can tell your wife, but you can’t get tell your girlfriend

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

Dan Bice discusses the involvement of Kimly Rucker, in the Alderman McGee McJr case.

You just have to laugh at someone blatantly breaking the law by discussing the John Doe while bragging that he isn’t supposed to be doing what he is doing at that very instant with someone he was specifically told not to discuss the hearing with… And it’s all on tape.

“They said you can tell your wife, but you can’t get tell your girlfriend,” McGee said, according to a transcript of the conversation.

“Say what?” Rucker responded.

McGee explained: “That’s how stupid they is. The judge was like, ‘You can tell your wife, but you can’t tell your girlfriend. You can tell your doctor . . . ‘ ”

“The judge did not tell you anything like that,” Rucker interrupted.

“They did say that,” McGee argued. “They crazy. No girlfriend. Only your wife. And only your, only your, you can tell your lawyer. You can tell your doctor, and you can tell your preacher.”

“No,” Rucker said, “he didn’t.”

“It’s a woman judge,” McGee said, correcting his girlfriend. “Jean DiMotto. That bitch did say that.”

That’s how stupid they is…

Milwaukee to restrict sex offenders

Tuesday, June 26th, 2007

Milwaukee Alderman Zielinski & Bohl are introducing legislation that would include the city of Milwaukee as one of those in the area that have enacted tough residency restrictions for convicted sexual predators. This would keep sex offenders 2000 feet from schools, churches, parks and other places where children can be expected to congregate.

You can read the press release here, there will be more there will be more details in the days to come.
