Just a quick personal update, I head back to the doc this afternoon, hopefully I will get this splint off. I am convinced that the splint is causing 90% of my pain, although I realize that once it is off it will likely bring on new pains. But right now, I will be glad to get this clunky thing off my paw, it is rubbing on my stitches and really bothering me.
I’ll add more in comments after getting back from the doc’s, and if it’s gory enough, maybe I’ll post a pic

Good luck Patrick! I know when I got the bandages off after my elbow surgery, I was absolutely shocked at how disgusting the whole arm looked…

Not real gory, but there is still a little dry blood

Since the stitches were so uncomfortable, he pulled them (7) and took off that ungodly uncomfortable splint. I am now in an elastic glove sort of thing with a molded aluminum bar to hold my wrist in the proper position. Except for therapy (2x per week)and showering I will keep this on 24-7 for the next 4 weeks.
I got to see the x-ray, I didn’t realize just how shattered things were in there, I have 11 screws holding my distal radius together.

Nice to know you’re on the mend Patrick. I agree with Chris, I won’t watch the surgery either. As much as I admire a surgeon’s skill, I don’t need to see the visuals for further proof.

You know better than that with me. LOL
Seriously though, I’m thrilled to know things are going a bit better than the last visit to the doc.
Hope to be feeling more of the intent in those keystrokes soon. ~… yep…I know you …”

ohhhh man, picked the wrong day to quit the Tramadol
bad bad night, lots of pain, little sleep. by the time I broke down & took the tramadol, it was to late, it didn’t do much.
I figured that tonight would be bad, with the new brace and the movement at the doc’s office, but I was feeling pretty good early on, but it turned out to be pretty rough.

Buck-buck-buck-buckaw!!!! Yes, I admit, I’m a chicken concerning watching a video of somebody getting operated on. I’m one of those old fashioned ladies, not too sqeamish to read about a graphic surgery, but I draw the line at watching a video of the procedure. I can very well visualize what the surgeon’s doing.
