Shortly before yesterday afternoon’s procedural vote, the Congressional Budget Office released revised budget numbers that proved that, thanks to caps on executive pay contained the Senate version of President Obama’s “stimulus” package, the Treasury actually stands to lose $10.8 billion in tax revenue.
Subtle tweaks to the free market produce disastrous unintended consequences. So, if a cap on executive pay represents a “subtle tweakâ€, what do we call all the other monstrous social engineering contained in this bill? And what other unintended consequences is it likely to produce?
“Get on board or else.†What a brilliant political message. President Obama claims that the time for “partisan bickering†has passed. News flash, Barry: “Partisan Bickering†used to be a nuance of the two-party system. Guess we won’t have to worry about that pesky little problem any longer, will we? While I’ve long criticized it, oddly, I now long for it. Up until now, it kept insane liberals like Nancy Pelosi from getting what they wanted.
Every reasonable American who cares enough to formulate an educated opinion (and who doesn’t stand to gain exponentially from a massive redistribution of wealth) knows what a load of crap this “economic stimulus†bill is, yet not one of us is able to do a darn thing to stop it. This is every bogus, do-nothing liberal social program which the Dems felt weren’t yet “adequately funded†wrapped into one spoiled burrito being jammed down the average American’s throat on the coattails of their manufactured “crisis.†They’ve been storing all this bloat in a jar in the pantry closet for years, just waiting for the day they could dump its rotten contents on moderate Americans.
That day came less than a month ago. And what a month it’s been.
This isn’t about “creating jobs.†This isn’t about “stimulus.†The only thing which will be stimulated by this debacle is the Democrats’ unceasing arrogance.
I’ve been a casual observer of American politics dating back to the wasted days of my youth in the 80’s. I’m fortunate enough to remember when our leaders could actually work together on legislation that benefited all Americans, not just those with their hands out; and I can’t honestly recall any time in history (even under Ronald Reagan, when not only was our party embraced, but also our message) where there wasn’t even the mild illusion of bipartisanship; where one party was this impressed with, this inflated by their own power, and willing to do anything they could to steamroll any hint of opposition whatsoever.
The rest of us had better get used to it. Radical liberalism has no shame. And they’re laughing every step of the way.

I don’t believe that the reduced Treasury receipts are “unintended.” That’s the next manufactured “crisis” for an additional power grab/socialization. They know damn well what they’re doing.
See also “you can’t ‘champion the oppressed’ without keeping people oppressed”.

EXACTLY.
Wait until there’s a 50% payroll tax. You know, to make up the “unforseen” deficit.

What did anyone expect.
We have a Libtard President.
We have a Libtard House.
We have a Libtard Senate.
What did people think liberals would do once in power. This is just a little worse a little faster than expected.
Liberals are not honest. They will twist, parse and lie to get their way. Listen to Obama’s speech from last night. The guy is delusional.
If you don’t agree you want to blow up America’s public school system.
If we don’t act now the sky will fall.
This shyte is out of the Sol Olinsky play book.
This stuff isn’t happening by accident.
Obie get’s elected and hands off the responsibility for spending a cool TRILLLLLLLION to Pelosi. What do people think Pelosi stands for? We have neophyte Lenin wannabees in power.
They are only limited by the Constitution, and even THAT is malleable in their minds. E.G. Abortion is in the Constitution, but God is not.
Liberals have lost their souls. They believe in an ideology without regard to it’s failures over the last 100 years. Liberals undermine their own freedoms, but the ones at the top eat $100lb steak as they sneer at us and tell us about the CATASTOPHE that will occur if they can’t spend our childrens childrens money ON THEIR CAUSES.
All designed to consolidate a larger and large dependent liberal voting base for decades to come.
I saw this coming. I clearly saw it. First and foremost, I understand the garden variety libtard and his need for the government to protect him from having to work and exist in the real world.
We are screwed unless we turn this around tout suite.

1993 gave us the Contract with America…
At least that is the silver lining that I am clinging too…

Town burning = Hope.
Spending trillions more on libtard causes = change.
We are getting hosed.

I want to be liberally liberated. Does that make me a liberal?
Self empowerment for all…do not look to your government for what you need to do for yourself.
Who protested no to the first stimulus? I did.
Dem. or Republican you gotta admit that neither one is serving the American public.

Just click on the state you are interested in, no other information needed. .. HOLY GOD..
Everyone from Gwenn Moore raping taxpayers for more defense money for bogus projects to Obey (the biggest offender) loading it up with garbage.

Intended or unintended is irrelevant. The reasoning here is about as talented basic high school in Wisconsin. The CBO has always planted estimates, and they have never been close to reality. What is the point of passing 10 billion through the checkbooks of a few. Whats missing here is that anyone who earns a a million or more, pays far less percentage of income on taxes than the rest of us. Wake up people and stop sounding like a dumb cow that needs to be lead.

I just checked out the above linked website http://www.porkbill.com
Wisconsin is getting $196,188,794.00 in pork thanks mostly to Obey and Kohl.
So since the taxpayers are getting screwed on this deal does that make us the prostitutes and Kohl and Obey the pimps?

Uhh, no.

Good Morning LaFake.
On one million dollars of income the U.S. taxes at 39%
On Fiddy thou, the rate is 24%
On taxable income of $1 mil. that comes to $390,000.00
Vs.
$12,000.00 on the Fiddy.
$390,000.00 divided by $12,000.00 =
32.5
The millionaire pays 32 and a half times what the fiddy does.
That evil millionaire.
Thanks for playing. Troll on….

Yeah, that’s from the Social Security tax and all the other bullshit payroll taxes on your first six figures of wages. I’m glad you agree with us that those all need to be removed.

Not a socialist here, and but to play devils advocate:
Paying $360G on a million dollar income reduces that income to $640G.
Taking $12G from $50G worker - which is roughly $19/hr over minimum wage, meaning they’re either a college grad or a skilled worker -leaves a whopping $38G on which to live, work, and presumably raise a family.
I don’t know why these numbers are ever trot out by folks on the right; to 95% of America that ‘winning’ argument proves the ‘worth’ of everything that we’re arguing against.

Roland, what has always struck me, especially the last decade or so, is that liberals/Democrats cannot seem to tell the difference between people of real character and those who a demogogue posers. Clinton was quite a schmoozer and came across to millions as sincere. I mean Clinton suckered numerous women into affairs and fooled people into believing he was a sincere man, but SCHUMER?? SPITZER?? BLAGOJEVICH?? Clearly these men are losers and not nice people. I won’t go into the Maxine Waters, Cynthia McKinneys and Gwen Moores, they are different breed. But men like SCHUMER are transparent and aren’t even charming.

…liberals/Democrats cannot seem to tell the difference between people of real character and those who a demogogue posers…
Agreed…but can you blame them? If you don’t know what someone of real character is like, there is no contrast to help you tell the difference. I mean…when was the last time the Dems had a leader of real character? JFK?
Chrissakes…their party still lauds and applauds the likes of
Grand WizardSenator Robert Byrd and Senator Edward “Sink-or-Swim” Kennedy.February 11th, 2009 at 11:33 pm
Awesome Roland. Bernard Goldberg, the former CBS reporter/Correspondant who has written several excellent books including BIAS….CRAZIES TO THE LEFT OF ME WIMPS TO THE RIGHT….and now SLOBBERING….. has a saying….
FISH DON’T KNOW HE’S WET. If you hang out with, Blagojevich, Jesse Jackson, Jesse Jackson Jr. Tony Rezko, Jeremiah Wright, Fr.Pfleger, Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn. How do you recognize what CHARACTER is?
Caesar Obama has NEVER surrounded himself with people of class, substance nor character.
Read his own words.
A FISH, is used to being wet. He knows nothing else.

I see the “fairness doctrine” is alive and well on this site. Thank God for people like Rush, Sean, Mark, and Jay… They give the side that the Liberal Media will not.
Two observations:
Nancy Pelosi starts every statement, speech or interview out with a combination of the following:
“In the spirit of bi-partisanship”
“With great cooperation”
“With great civility”
And when it’s the complete tri-fecta mentioned above, look out! The next thing to come out of her Marxist Pie-hole is something so far left that it will make your head spin. Then, when a voice of reason speaks up and simply questions what she said, they are totally partisan, un-coopertive and un-civil. As Henry Ford said, “you can have any color car you want as a long as it’s black.”
Other observation:
Barack said that when Bush told the public to get on board back in October, Bush was promoting the “Politics of Fear”. But when Barack says that if we don’t act now and fast, the “damage would be irreversible” to the economy. And that’s not FEAR? Oh yeah, you don’t question the Messiah. My bad.
Last point… The problems that we are experiencing are problems that are neither Rep/Dem, Left or Right. As Paul Ryan and many others have said, they’re “American Problems.” Too much money is controlled by too few banking individuals. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, however, I have noticed something… What did Abe Lincoln, Warren Harding, Andrew Jackson and John Kennedy all have in common? Assassination is the easy answer, but if you look a little deeper, the one thing they all had in common that is the most alarming is the fact that “taking on the banks” and “bank reform” was very high on their priority list.
Now, zoom ahead to 2008… Bush had a lot of faults, but one thing he was very good at is not shi*ting his pants during a crisis. The only time that I saw real distress with President Bush was when he told America what dire straits we would be in if we did not pass a bailout… Hmmmm, Bush? Scared? I truly think this is all connected and if he would not have acted, U2 could write another song about a shot ringing out in Crawford sky.
Just food for thought…
