Now I *want* to see the Vikings take him. Just to see if McCarthy blitz’s him on every down.

As was pointed out, last year he stated that he “could” play, but didn’t want to. This year he indicated that he just can’t throw the ball like he used to. I think we’ve finally seen the last of Brett - at least in a football uniform.

Sadly, he has become exactly what he wanted to avoid; the guy that stuck around for too long because nobody wanted to tell him he was past his prime.

He was told, by the Packers, and didn’t want to listen. If he stays in Mississippi and keeps his mouth shut the next 5 years, I may begin to regain a small amount of respect for him.

This is like dating someone for a really long time, but then you break up. She sleeps with someone else, but then realizes what a big mistake it all was.
I just hope we don’t have to file a restraining order or try to have “make up” sex.

Let the Curse of the Brett begin.

Heartless Philistines!
Man. The guy gives ya 16 years of rompin’ excitement, two SB visits and one a win, 3 MVPs, 10 Pro Bowls, every record known to QBs, contract renogs to save the kingdom, playing hurt, playin sad, snowball fights…
…and this is how you repay.
For shame, people.
Watching Favre early in the year still slinging it and threadin’ the needle with velocity that Rodgers can only dream about, one knew only injury would end his career.
Yeah, he lost the steam due to the tear on the soup bone, anyone could see that clearly, and it was hard to watch (God love NFL Network “Replay”). But that’s a killer cut that no QB works around, rookie or old man.
He learned a new system and took a tank team with 2nd tier receivers and helped turn them around. By contrast, Rodgers had three years in the system, headed a top team with some of the top receivers in the league, and the team tanked.
And don’t gimme no heat about the numbers because it ain’t all about the numbers. And THAT’S the point.
I have nothing against Rodgers. Never did. (Thompson, otoh…) No reason to. Wish A-Rod the best, rah rah go Pack go, and all that (doubt he still wants that moniker, tho). And the crap year wasn’t all his fault… by no means.
But let’s talk straight: He ain’t got “it”.
You can see it. You can feel it. Ya’ll know it.
He ain’t got “Bradshaw”. He ain’t got “Elway”. He ain’t got “Manning (Peyton)”. And he certainly doesn’t have “Favre”.
What we have here is very nice Drew Bledsoe-type QB. Which is fine. Bledsoe had a pretty good career.
It’s just that when you are telling your great-grandkids about the last Packer Super Bowl win, you’ll still be talkin’ Favre.
And dis’n Favre for Thompson’s FU…
man, get off my toes!

Wish Favre would get over the “Thompson’s first move was to draft my replacement”. Most people thought it was a coin flip between Smith and Rodgers for #1 overall that year. Nobody saw him falling all the way to the Pack at #24. Thompson did not go looking for the guy, just circumstances occured that made it the best pick available. Bet San Fran is wishing they took him.

Talk about revisionist history. Rogers took the Pack to leads in the 4th quarter numerous times this past season, only to watch from the sidelines as the defense coughed it up.
Watching the Superbowl was like deja vu. Do you blame Kurt Warner for the Cardinals’ loss? I was as much of a Favre fan as anyone but he stayed too long.

Da da da. I don’t love you/you don’t love me”)

They love you until you’ve outlived your usefulness.
Brett, you learned some things that you can’t learn in College. Brett, you made some mistakes, and you should close your mouth now. Please get some fatherly advice somewhere??!!
BUT..
Most of you should be ashamed of yourselves. You seem to think Brett Favre is supposed to be Ward Cleaver. Y’all loved the hell out of him when he “amused” you.
The man gave us 16 fu@#%^g great years. The man is arguably the best QB in football history, and he certainly is the best player in most of our adult lifetimes. HOW SOON WE FORGET.
BTW. Bing Crosby beat his kids…………
When Brett Favre was a gunslinging, Cuervo guzzling, womanizing, downtown Urinal throwing-upping rock star, larger than life, father of an illegitmate child and not married to DEANNA.
Where were you all??
