Disgraceful Milwaukee County Supervisor Elizabeth Coggs is in a snit because the papers political watchdog column is actually… watching… and reporting. So as is typical of local politicians like Coggs, she plays the race card, where she accuses reporter Dan Bice of “modern day lynching attacks.”
Coggs then breaks out one of the oldest arguments in a race warrior’s tool box, the Willie Lynch Letter. Well, actually…
The Willie Lynch is supposedly a British slave owner in the West Indies, that basically wrote the book on how to control slaves in 1712… But William Lynch wasn’t even born until some 30 years later. Add to this, several words used throughout the letter weren’t even in the English language until more than 200 years later. The words “refueling†and “fool proof†have no record of being used until the early 1900’s.
There is absolutely no record of that speech happening anywhere before the early 1990’s, certainly not 1712. No provenance for the speech has ever been found dating this to the early 1700’s as claimed. The facts are simple, the document is a fake, but that won’t stop people like Elizabeth Coggs from using this bogus claim to try to bully people.

Clearly you are a right-wing bigot.
Why don’t you run along to your tea party.

Also interesting was the Jesus card also being played at the end of Coggs’ letter. God forbid the wrath if a conservative had used that line.

Isn’t Coggs the one who may have stole the money from the children to go on vacation and didn’t pay it back, or did she? What does race have to do with stealing money to go to pretend meetings in the name of the children?
Wasn’t there another person involved in stealing the money that paid it back at least?
Didn’t they go on their own lynching, attempting to blame someone else for what they did?
People are paying the taxes, and should complain when un-Americans might steal money in the name of the children for pretend or un-attended meetings for the children.
It is un-American for taxpayers to be forced to contribute and have their money and resources squandered by politicians, corruption, and inefficient government!

Update - Coggs did pay the money back, but not sure if Clark did.

John Smith, Coggs was one of the Supervisors that went to watch Barry’s coronation, but she paid the money back when caught with her hand in the cookie jar. It was my County Supervisor Toni Clark, that to my knowledge, has yet to repay the taxpayers.
Coggs has been pulling this crap since she was running the fiasco that was SDC.

Where is your coverage of the South Milwaukee Police Chief who received a 90 day suspension for using the N word to his subordinates? I just find it ironic that when a black person cries racism they are dismissed as being paranoid because in this post-racial world we live in racism doesn’t exist. The whole Willie Lynch letter may be bogus, but it does resonate with some people because they have experienced some of the things talked about in the letter. Coggs is not helping her cause by her actions and using racism as a shield for those actions is indefensible for anyone.

So if the watchdog group hadn’t been watching, they could have stole the money and no one would have known? Doesn’t sound like a lynch mob to me.
Clark is probably making mortgage payments with the money that she didn’t pay back/may have stole. Is it our house now?

Justus, just to clarify, it was the fire chief, not police.
To answer the question, no, we didn’t cover it, frankly, we have day jobs and the head of a tiny fire department doing something stupid and unacceptable, didn’t get any attention here, but you can find coverage of his suspension here.
As for why the Coggs story did get play here, it is a continued pattern from Coggs, and it was her that turned the story into a racial issue.
And just because she used a lie that resonates with people, doesn’t make it any less of a lie.

Patrick sorry for the oversight on the fire chief. It’s a shame that any politician would put themselves in compromising position (trust me I know) and to be honest it is even more of a shame when a black elected official because their constituents need good leadership and it is sorely lacking. Milwaukee politicians white and black have an entitlement mentality. It’s a shame it truly is.

Justus, I agree with you. Our new Presidents own words are inappropriate.
“White man’s greed runs a world in need”.
To say such tripe is not only racist, but inaccurate. No MARXIST country has ever provided anything for anyone other than their own ruling class.

Patrick can you name 3 Milwaukee politicians that do NOT have the entitlement mentality? Including County and City pols??
Scott Walker gets an A.
Bob Donovan gets a B.
David Clarke Jr. gets a B.
It’s simple and getting simpler. If your consituency is dependent on govt. you vote for more entitlements. With 3 exceptions.
I’m proud to say I’m friends with 2 of the aforementioned and know the 3rd. and admire him.

In all fairness, there are a couple of County Supervisors with decent standards, but none stand out to me.

Gus I’m not living in Milwaukee now but trust me I know how the game is played. And really do we need any politician in office for 20 years like Coggs has been? Not to hammer her cause I don’t know her but when you have been on the public dime for that long, I’m sure some of them start to feel like they are bigger than what they really are. They are elected representatives of the people, period. If they want to feel any bigger than that start a rock band, hell I’m just throwing that out there but you get what I’m saying.

Sort of like Lena Taylor being able to walk into the police station and demand her ticket be torn up.
They watchdogs say “NO”, you were driving down the wrong side of the street. You decided to indanger all around (or steal), because you believe you can.
Whats worse, drunk drivers that may or may not cause an accident, or Lena Taylor driving down the wrong side of the road. Both made bad choices endangering the children…
If Coggs, Lena and Clark are left alone to continue their pillaging, someones going to get killed and the children are not going to get anything the taxpayers contributed for.
