I intended to weigh into this last night but didn’t get around to it. I have a few minutes now so I will post a few comments. A big story around Milwaukee the past few days is the report that was put out giving recommendations as to where we will house released sexual predators.
First, why are people that are declared to still be a threat to commit sexual violence being released in the first place? Of course only the tortured liberal logic can understand this.
The paper’s Editorial Board of course supports their release and pretty much tells us to shut up and take it because we don’t know any better, they say in today’s editorial:
Sexual offenders, especially those whose victims included children, have become modern-day pariahs, particularly so now that officials are required under state law to alert citizens when those offenders are going to be released into their neighborhoods. And it seems to make not an iota of difference if the neighborhoods are in the middle of the city or way out in the suburbs.
While such community opposition is understandable, it’s simply not realistic. Once sex offenders have served their time in prison, the state cannot, legally, simply continue to keep them incarcerated indefinitely because it cannot find a place to house them where neighbors won’t object.
The Locations
The four spots chosen by this unaccountable group was in my opinion, were picked to target the one location that they really want.
First, the Franklin location, people are already in an uproar, holding meetings and everything. They will fight tooth and nail to prevent this site from being used.
The East Side location is close to Glendale and too close to the fashionable east side to allow such a thing to happen, they are already mobilizing against this. Not to mention that a house full of sexual predator’s being placed next to a building that houses the juvenile parole offices is insane!
The 104 & County Line Rd. location is next to a park, bike trails, no street lights, a lot of farm and woodland and several hundred children in a new high end Mequon subdivision. This would be like an ideal location for a pedophile!
The 37th and Mill Rd. location…This is where it will go. I’ll bet money on it. It is in a lower income area and it would be my guess that there will be less organization from the community in the area.
Already on the streets
Charlie Sykes has posted a link that will tell you about the sex offenders that are already in your neighborhood. This is scarry.
