Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter Larry Sandler reports that water rates will increase in the Milwaukee metro area and more increases are coming. This is something I happened upon when I was channel surfing several weeks ago and came upon a Common Council Public Works Committee meeting on the City Channel. Carrie Lewis, Milwaukee Water Works Superintendent, was addressing the committee and I heard her saying that water usage was down therefore the rates needed to increase in order to meet budgetary requirements such as payroll and operating expenses. I contacted my alderman, Joe Dudzik, and he informed me that the real problem causing this rate increase was that businesses have been moving out of Milwaukee. These businesses were using alot of water and thereby actually keeping the overall average cost to homeowners DOWN. So now that Milwaukee has fewer businesses to use our water, guess who has to absorb the costs.

The death-spiral continues. Too bad those that are causing it will be fishing from their docks every day “Up North” when the real fallout hits the suckers back here.

And why does this surprise you?
WeEnrgies is talking about raising rates because use is down over 5%.
Supply and demand does not work with utilities or any other goobermint entity.

When is Milwaukee going to wake up and realize that the left leaders running the operation are running it into the ground. Can you spell D_E_T_R_O_I_T? Here’s another one…New Businesses=New Jobs. Less Businesses=Less Jobs.

If you think that’s something-
If Miller Brewing closes its plant, sewer-rates AND water-rates will jump into the stratosphere.

But I thought the stimulus money, free healthcare and taxing the rich was going to save us? Now I have to pay more for everything and I no-longer have a job, this can not be. They said it would not affect me, only the rich? What is going on? This is not working like they said it was.

I guess we can “hope” that businesses will come back and “change” things.

I say any alderman who voted for this increase should be g-o-n-e, gone! And, Mayor Barrett has no clue how to run a city. He’s an idiot, period. The guys a joke, but I’m not laughing.

Who in their right mind would continue to live in Milwaukee?

Does Barret really think increasing cost and even more restrictive parking fees is the solution? Why not just put a sign out - STAY OUT OF MILWAUKEE, CARE OF BARRETT (alias nut job choo-choo salesman).
FYI - They are going after surrounding regions also. If you leave Milwaukee, be careful, for they are out of money and trying to suck a seven 7 country region in, so they can flush even more money down the toilet in the name of the children that can’t get to school with lunch in hand.
Solution: Treat adults like adults, hold them responsible for feeding and clothing themselves, hold them responsible for their actions and/or what they created. No more free money and stamps, no more, fend for yourselves, build good families to support you like the rest of the world.
Budget problem solved!

Hey John Smith,
seriously, you ever talk to Barrett?
I have, the man is a moron.
