When your Badger Bloggers sat down with Scott Walker, we brought with us some of your questions. These were picked because we haven’t seen them asked by anyone else. A couple of the answers are brief since we had already run over our allotted time. Thank you for your input and support.

From “Amy P.” and “Jaeson:” Other governors, like gov Perry in Texas have floated talk about declaring state sovereignty under the 10th amendment. Is this something that you as governor would consider in the event that the federal governments laws pose a direct threat to the economy and citizens of Wisconsin?

I’d certainly look at it. Those 28 words in the 10th Amendment are some of the most powerful words our founders wrote. I’d like to address that before it got to the point of questioning sovereignty, but I think we’ve got to be forceful in saying “what issues from the federal govt are legitimate, what one’s are we going to challenge…be it in court or otherwise.

From “Jaeson:” Will you support expansions of the states gambling laws to allow taverns and other businesses outside of Indian reservations to have slot machines and other gambling offerings in order to be able to compete with larger casinos?

At this time, I’m not inclined to…no.

From “Phelony Jones:” Would you sell the Talgo trains the current office holder negotiated a no-bid contract for?

Well, if I got a good bid for them on eBay, I’d certainly try. (laughs) Well, you know, somebody brought up—and this is what’s cool about having a conversation around the State where it’s not all just talking at people, but really conversing with people—somebody brought up a good idea and they said: “instead of doing the high speed rail, when Chicago gets the Olympics, at least for that brief period of time, run multiple routes with those two train sets off the existing Amtrak-Hiawatha line between Chicago and Milwaukee and actually selli t as convenient, but not make it a permanent thing. Then after your done, get your use out of it then sell them.

From “Jaeson:” Would you be willing to fight to keep the Hoan Bridge as a vital artery for Bayview and other Southshore communities?

Yes.

    Is that ALL the questions?

    dad29,

That’s a sampling of questions from BadgerBlogger.com readers. We’ve hardly scratched the surface of our own questions. We have a lot more material from the interview, it just turned into a very busy week for all of us.

We’ll be processing the material from the interview over the weekend, and several other posts are on their way in the coming days. Keep your eyes on the blog!
