Scott Walker voluntarily gives back almost 50% of his salary his first six years in office…totalling about $360,000. He then opts to scale back his voluntary pay cut to about $10,000 per year. Seems to me Walker was leading by example well before he demanded any sacrifice from anyone else in County government.
How hard would the AFSCME folks be crying if they had to take a 50% pay cut? You think they would ever do so voluntarily? When was the last time a non-millionaire Democrat made such a personal sacrifice?

Yet, leave it to those blue bloggers…some who collect a government salary…and, some who earn their living slinging mud to their Right…to get all twisted around trying their darndest to make a villain out of Scott Walker.
All you logical folks out there…before reading some Liberal blathering about how taking a 10% pay cut instead of a 50% pay cut is actually a 72% pay raise…you need to preemptively take two aspirin because…I’m tellin’ ya…trying to make sense out of him is bound to give you a headache.
And they say Scott Walker is the bad guy? Have any of these filled-with-outrage-blue-bloggers leveled any criticism at Milwaukee County Supervisor John “Little Boy” Weishan Jr. for flatly refusing to “share the pain” of the average Joe county workers?
By the way…how much of his salary did Tom Barrett give back his first six years as Milwaukee’s mayor? How much, if anything, is he giving back now in these days of tight fiscal budgets? You know…budgets that are soooo tight that city workers, cops and firemen are being asked to take layoffs…ahem, I mean furloughs, while making millions available to rich, connected (some say “corrupt”) condo developers. A move criticized by Ald. Willie Hines, who showed integrity and intelligence as quoted by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel when he indicated that backing condo development right now is too risky:
“The condominium market is struggling,” Hines said. “Banks aren’t lending to developers, or to (condo) buyers, either.”
Just wait ’til Boris the Russian comes a callin’ with hat in hand. It’s late. I’m taking two Aleve and going to bed.
UPDATE: I have communicated with a top advisor to Scott Walker, who confirmed another tidbit about Scott Walker’s voluntary pay-cut that Liberal detractors won’t tell you. Even when he voluntarily gave back almost 50% of his salary, he paid taxes on the full amount. That’s feeling the pain of your subordinates…not some token gesture like giving $500 to charity that you would have given anyway.

What are the gubmint “workers” going to do in the 2nd quarter of next year when the unemployment is supposed to hit it’s pinnacle ?
I also read that the number of rounds being purchased out there are enough to give every man, women and child in the US over 1000 rounds.
The race to the bottom continues.

For what it’s worth, I attended the Sarah Palin event at the State Fair tonight. Both Mark Neumann and Scott Walker were there, too. Neumann’s presence seemed to go relatively unnoticed; people gave Walker a standing ovation as he walked through the exhibit hall.

Math is racist. And insisting that there is only one correct answer damages their fragile self-esteem. Today in math class we’ll be drawing in our journals about “50%” makes us feel.

@amylpav22 I was hearing the same thing from people on Twitter during the event. Wish I could have been there.
